Mike doesn’t seem to care about making it right even though the grout manufacturer agreed it was a grout issue and was willing to cover the cost of regrouting under warranty. > > Had my bathroom floor and shower tiled by Ludlow tile in March of 2023. They were fairly easy to work with and pricing was reasonable. Initially the work looked good and I was happy with the results. Within a few months I started noticing the grout cracking in many of the tile seams on both the floor and shower. Not a huge deal, I reached out to Mike and he sent one of his guys to patch it up. A few months later, same thing again, cracking grout lines. Again Mike sent someone over to patch and silicone the corner seams. About a year after the initial install, April 2024, we started noticing that chunks of grout were falling out of the seams and the grout would literally rub off on your finger if you rubbed it while wet. I reached out again to Mike to see if this was normal (obviously not). He told me it looked like an issue with the grout and he would have the grout rep reach out to me. This never happened and I had to follow up and get the number for the grout rep to contact him myself. The grout rep sent me a bottle of acrylic hardener for the grout. Of course Mike was no help at this point and I had to patch the missing grout areas and apply the harder to each grout line myself. The hardener seemed to do the job for a while, but now we are about three years out from the original install and the grout is once again crumbling and falling out in chunks. I reached out to the grout rep who advised me that the whole bathroom should be regrouted. Fortunately they would cover the cost of this under the grout warranty, but of course they wouldn’t cover the hassle, headaches, mess, cost of removing the shower doors, etc. I reached out to Mike yet again for a quote on regrouting the bathroom so that I could submit it to the grout rep. He responded with a generic answer saying that labor would be $100/hr but he wasn’t sure how long it would take. No apology, no concern for the shoddy workmanship or the headaches this has caused me. I told him I needed a quote I could submit, not just an hourly rate. Since then I have not heard back from Mike, that was in February of 2026. Long story short, if you want to save yourself a lot of problems, you’re better off finding someone who stands behind their work and takes pride in providing a results that stands the test of time. One more note, I provided all of the materials for this job EXCEPT for the grout which Mike said he would supply. **★★★★★ — Nick Selepouchin, July 2025** > Mike and Mike were very professional from start to finish. The master bath is a gray white plank tile, and the hallway leading to the master bedroom is a warm brown plank tile. I want to remove the carpeting in the master bedroom and bring in tile or vinyl flooring. I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate these other two floors to make it look like it was meant to run together. Help not sure what to do. A: Have you considered continuing the hardwood through the bedroom? It would most likely be more costly but would look great. **Q: Help with backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)* We just redid our kitchen counter and went with titanium. It is black with a lot of natural movement. See pic. I am trying to decide whether I should have a light colored backsplash or a dark one, shiny or stone look, small or large. My house is not modern, so I don't want the glass/stainless look. A: I would keep it straight forward and simple.
