I want to remove the shutters and have a wider window wrap but I am an extremely visual person and cannot make this decision without seeing it first. My old(ish) computer is not compatible with design software, I've looked into it. How can I see what my house would look like without shutters and with wider window wrap? I want to be able to play around with this somehow. Our window installer does not have the software to do this either. Any advice is welcome! A: yOU could buy a new house... **Q: Where should the living room go?** *(in Windows)* Hi everyone, new user here. My roommate and I can’t decide where to put our living room. We don’t really have any furniture right now but the space has a lot of windows so it’s challenging for us. House faces east (window at the end is the east facing window). First idea was to have couch up against window to the left. Then a friend suggested we place couch facing the wall space between the two windows where we would have a TV…but the back of the couch would be the first thing you see entering. There’s space for dining area as well. It’s a complete blank slate, any thoughts/ideas much appreciated! A: Layer syetem always works,, so kitchen, eating then TV were the boxes go, This is the space for it. It has the most light available and it will be the space in which you are always sitting. However there is a large disconnect from the kitchen to the TV. Which could be a problem for the ktichen workers,, unless she is your mom. **Q: Love the colors** *(in Photo Questions)* Wonder if the colors would pop some more if roof tile was darker, maybe black? A: yellow house black door **Q: Best window for use in shower?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are remodeling a bathroom and are forced to have a window in the shower. The current window is a vinyl double hung window with a wood jamb. It is a slightly smaller matching window to four other double hung, colonial 2x6 divided, windows on the front of the house (stucco exterior with wood framing on exterior of windows). The shower window is a 35x48 window. The shower will be tiled, with the window at the rear side of the 3.5x5 shower. What is the best window to use in this scenario? We don't want to tile over the current wood jamb. Is a vinyl window with vinyl jamb the best option. Need to keep the look of the double hung colonial window, but is a casement window an option? This window is also on the front of the house, so there are privacy issues, but not sure obscured or frosted glass will be private enough (at least if there is only the window glass vs. a second panel of frosted glass in side the exterior window). Any thoughts on how to address privacy while maintaining the exterior appearance and avoiding condensation issues? Thank you for any insight or advice you might have - much appreciated! A: pvc windows with translucent glazing are available from almost all window manufactures. The shower surface will need to return to frame at jamb , sill and head of window. So your choices are unlimited, if possible use pressure treated framing material when window is installed and use an acrylic paint-able caulk at perimeter of window.
