Benjamin Blackwelder is definitely not one of them. Soon after install we discovered issues with the finish on the cabinets he installed. As time went on the coating kept pealing off more and more. We contacted Ben and he accused us of damaging our own cabinets but did offer to refinish them if we would cover the cost(because everything would need to be sanded down and waterproof finish would need to be installed. Not sure why you would put a coat of finish for the cabinets that are in the bathroom that is not waterproof in the first place but ok). We agreed, he sent his guys who came and masked the cabinets, spayed some stuff with cans and left. No sanding just spay on the front of the cabinets. We were shocked to see that cabinets looked worse than before. We contacted his guys and they said that's what Ben told them to do. I asked them would you be happy with this work if it was your house. They response was "Absolutely not". Ben sends his guys the second time and they do the same but the layer of coating is thicker now, cabinets look mismatched and yellow. Walls are damaged, cabinets hardware is missing, misaligned, floor is damaged. List goes on and on. What does Ben do? His response is "Its not my problem. Contact the guys who did the work." Ben, you did the work. Oh and then he sends an invoice for $3600 for the work he did. If you are looking for a cabinet guy, do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake, avoid @benjamin\_blackwelder\_cabinetry at all cost. He also knows what woods are best for painted cabinets. His attention to detail is incredible. The cabinets that we have are the best quality that I have ever seen in a cabinet. He does things that other cabinet builders don't do. For example, the drawer detail on the sides of the drawers have 2 different types of woods. This adds character to the cabinet and is a detail that is hidden unless you open the drawers.
