> Truly, I could never say enough about Flux -- their design team and choice of companies that provided materials and products -- due mainly to their attention to detail and workmanship that was exemplary. Flux replaced an existing porch and redeveloped the basement in our Victorian home. Both projects, completed at the same time, resulted in exactly what we had envisioned. Two areas both in need to repair became two highly functional spaces that are amazingly beautiful. Both fit well with the design of the home and are aesthetically pleasing. Flux stayed within budget, worked well with us on decisions related to materials and design and most importantly finished within the time frame they promised. But again, it was the extreme attention to detail, the belief in perfection and that the tiniest things matter that set Flux, in particular Don, in our minds as an amazing developer and contractor. Again, I cannot say enough!

**★★★★★ — Toby Malone, Sept. 2021**

> We loved working with Flux. Don and Linda were personable, positive, approachable, and extremely professional at all times. Don offered wonderful advice on aesthetic and practical choices, but was also very flexible when it came to accommodating our requests. Working through the pandemic, we were concerned about hitting our target finish date, given that we had to move out so that the complete tear-down of the main floor and basement could be completed. No other contractor we spoke to could guarantee us that we would be back in the house in our set time frame, but Don and Linda promised and then delivered. Even when there were unexpected surprises, like what was revealed behind the walls that required an engineer's report, the work never stopped and the quality was top notch. We love our new house and have enjoyed living in our new space so much. We could not recommend Flux highly enough and would love to use them again in the future (except for the fact that our house is perfect now they've finished with it!).

> Excellent work. I have used Flux multiple times -- from renovation of upper levels to installation of new bathroom. Top marks for attention to detail, design, and materials used.

**★★★★★ — Andrew, Aug. 2021**

> Flux successfully executed an interior office renovation for our company. Both Don and Linda were great to work with, extremely friendly, responsive, attentive and the quality of work on the renovation was top-notch. I would highly recommend Flux as a contractor!

> I am extremely pleased and impressed with the work done by Flux Developments on my Rosedale co-op apartment. The final product is beautiful. It is wonderful to come home to an inviting retreat in the heart of the city, especially after a hard day at work. The work was completed at a time that I had expected. There were no surprise costs thanks to the carefully designed plan and well-thought-out budget. The quality of the work was fantastic with great attention to detail and incorporation of the latest trends and technology. Their suppliers have a wide selection of products at reasonable prices. Linda, Don and their team are a pleasure to work with: They are creative, thoughtful, patient, warm and personable with excellent communication skills. I would highly recommend Flux Developments to anyone who is considering a renovation project.

> I hired Flux to work on my investment property. They were great during the consultation period and provided great guidance throughout. They have a very modern touch and have an extremely high level attention to detail. I have used many contractors in my life and will be using them for my upcoming projects.

> In June 2015, we hired Flux Developments for the total renovation of our 75 year old Toronto home, that was relatively untouched since it was built. We chose Flux because they stood out as a company with great design sense, maintains good relationships with quality, like-minded sub-trades, and delivers a high-quality finished product.
>
> Scope of work included: complete replacement of all plumbing and electrical + service upgrade; full gutting of ground floor; new kitchen; full gutting of basement; digging up basement floor and installation of in-floor hydronic heating; insulation in basement and main floor; adding 3-piece basement bathroom; full gutting and replacement of second floor bathroom; new flooring, drywall, and finishes throughout. Work also included running plumbing and electrical to an end wall for potential future addition to the house.
>
> At the time the work started, we were still living in London, UK, so good communication was a critical requirement for the project’s success. The estimate was broken down into sections – each section had a description of work and cost (none of the other companies we interviewed provided this level of detail). The costs made sense. A work and payment schedule made billing and payments easy to track. Any time we asked for something that was out of scope, Flux flagged it for us and advised on extra costs, if any.
>
> We moved into our house at the end of October 2015. We are extremely happy with the quality of workmanship and the end result. Beyond the end result, the experience of working with Flux Developments was a pleasure!

**★★★★★ — N Laird, June 2017**

> I had Flux do an extensive reno at my home including a small addition .
> Linda , Don and George working on the design side of things did a great job for me . They were sensitive of the budget had terrific ideas and worked hard to make sure I was satisfied .

**★★★★★ — Mike Downes, June 2017**

> We used Linda and Don from Flux Developments Inc. to build a new room above our garage .They handled all of the permits and sub-contractors necessary to complete the project. Don did much of the work himself. They were professional from the start and up-front with all aspects of the job.
> They used only high-quality materials throughout the project (framing, siding, lighting, etc.) and the workmanship was excellent. They oversaw all of the details and were careful to listen to our concerns throughout the process. They were very personal and easy to deal with. Both of them have a good eye for details and quality, so their recommendations were very helpful. We have used other contractors for various jobs in the past and have had troubles. Comparatively speaking, Don and Linda were among the best contractors we have worked with. We are very happy with their work recommend them highly!

**★★★★★ — ResCom Designs, March 2014**

> We have worked with Flux Developments Inc. on several projects and their work is always very professional, detailed and top notch in quality. Their designs are very contemporary and custom done to meet the needs of each individual client. Donny and Linda pay special attention to detail and provide good value for money. I certainly do not hesitate to recommend Flux Developments to any client who requires a professional and reliable contract/design team that delivers on their promises and ensures that the client is always happy at the end of the project!

**★★★★★ — watson99, Nov. 2013**

> We interviewed 3 contractors before taking on our massive main level gut and second storey addition. Linda and Don at Flux were by far the best choice for us. They came with various ideas and were very helpful in helping an indecisive couple like us stay on the right track in terms of budget while maintaining a tasteful contemporary design. They were responsive to all our questions and requests. We constantly hear of horror stories with contractors, but we had an awesome experience with Flux with no issues at all. They were a pleasure to work with and we will continue to recommend them to our friends and family.

**★★★★★ — Flux Developments Inc., Jan. 2013**

> FLUX is a very professional, knowledgeable firm with great quality workmanship. Our project was timely, on budget with excellent quality. Our home is the talk of the neighbourhood and we are very proud. We would hire FLUX back without a second thought and have recommended them to everyone we know.

  - Location: Toronto, ON

  - Description: The home owner of a dated bungalow had two requests: modern design and more space. Our vision manifested in the form of a two-storey pitched structure built upon three of the existing main-floor brick walls and dressed in grey metal with cedar accents. Craftsmanship continues with interior detailing—from a custom oak-slatted screen crafted for partial privacy to a basket weave-patterned fireplace surround—that adds texture and intrigue to an open space. It is, however, the geometry of the home’s…

  - Description: We transformed a bungalow into a two-storey home by building up on three of its existing main-floor brick walls to create a two-storey structure and extending the footprint both in width and length. The result is a voluminous home with nine-foot-high ceilings and sunny interiors. Modern elements resonate throughout, from the sculptural oak staircase to the ensuite tiled in grey natural stone. The kitchen, crafted for a home owner who loves to cook and entertain, blends cabinetry in white and dar…

  - Location: Toronto, ON

  - Description: With a design focused on materiality and form, we reimagined a dated two-storey home by repurposing three of the existing main-floor brick walls and cladding the new second storey in fibre cement, along with a rear extension in black metal. Interior detailing, large openings, and custom millwork solutions elevate this home from dull to creative, compartmentalized to free flowing. The standout is the matte black kitchen that adds contrast with warmth, especially when combined with white quartz co…

  - Location: Toronto, ON

  - Description: Without a doubt, this project is our most popular build. We transformed a one-and-a-half storey house into a spacious two-storey home. The exterior marries old with new and fits in perfectly in an eclectic neighbourhood in west-end Toronto. Thanks to this project's unique design, this modern home resonates warmth with beautiful views of the nearby woodland setting. Design + Build: Flux Developments

  - Description: This project is a custom three-storey home in Toronto's The Beach neighbourhood. This new brick, stucco and cedar build is a clean and playful design with an interior palette that supports the concept of a modern house: natural wood, white walls and contrasting elements. - Description: This project was a full renovation, including a rear addition, to provide the homeowners with an updated spacious home with modern flair in downtown Toronto. The walnut accents in the custom kitchen pop in contrast to the neutral palette, adding warmth and depth to an inviting space. The 14-ft-retractable door makes this a sun-drenched living area and allows the homeowners to bring the outdoors in. In the bathroom, the wood vanity drawers add warmth and beautifully complement the glass shower wa…

  - Description: Located in Toronto’s Rosedale-Moore Park neighbourhood, this project breathes new life into a dated condo within a mid-century building, transforming it into a bright and inviting retreat. Guided by the principles of Wabi Sabi — a Japanese philosophy that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and the natural world — the design embraces simplicity, creating a harmonious sanctuary for its design-savvy homeowners. Highlights include reimagined spaces like the kitchen, primary bedroom, ensuite…

  - Description: A 1940s home in the charming Davisville Village neighbourhood has undergone a remarkable transformation to accommodate a family of four. Once a modest three-bedroom house with poor flow and a family room tucked away in the basement, it is now a bright, spacious, and modern home designed for family life with an enhanced connection to the outdoors. Working closely with the clients and architect, we completed a renovation that included a two-storey rear addition and a newly built third-floor level,…

  - Description: A beacon of contemporary design, this new three-storey rear addition lifts a century-old home to new heights with a welcoming silhouette and a warm expression. When the owners of a one-and-a-half storey house decided to revamp their compact dwelling, they knew exactly what they wanted: More space to accommodate out-of-town guests and a separate primary suite with interiors that harness opportunities for joy. A brighter interior and respect for the neighbourhood context further guided the archite…

  - Description: Liveability is the thread that wove this project together. The owners of an outdated home were looking to transform their cramped, tired living spaces into inviting, unified areas that reflect their love of entertaining and the outdoors. Splashes of colour, texture and pattern are scattered throughout this home, seamlessly blending into the emotions of those who interact with them. Previously, this home’s lower level lacked a proper connection to the backyard pool from the interior spaces. The s…

  - Description: This is a contemporary update for a Toronto family who wanted to increase their home's square footage. We topped up a two-storey home and added a new oak staircase with nine-foot-high glass panelling to connect the second and third floors. The use of wood for the exterior brings warmth and visual interest and is continued indoors for a cohesive look. Warm wood floors, glass walls and the use of brightly coloured accent walls makes this the perfect home for any design-focused family. Design: Clau…

Removing walls of disjointed rooms in this city home effectively doubled the home's living area. The mood of the renovated space is uplifting and fresh with a Scandinavian feel. Pale wood flooring is paired with soft textures and comfortable furnishings in a light-filled interior. Meanwhile, outside, cement-board lap-siding gives the rear exterior a fresh, new facade.
