He cast his experienced eye over my mixed-message (modern, rustic, Asian) one-bedroom ADU and brought it all together. He used beautiful paints and wall paper, created a rich feature wall and installed a few strategically selected pieces, including a new sofa and ottoman, side chair, nesting end tables, cowhide rug, and a badly needed bookcase in the living area. For the bedroom, he selected a duvet that perfectly matched the painting over my bed and installed a new, natural rug to tie the room together. He extended the kitchen area with a 6-foot butcher block island and purchased smoked glass pendant lights to showcase it. Michael pays attention to small details, like designing a perforated stainless steel panel to finish the butcher block table and naturalist English wallpaper in my modern bath. He didn't move my art but showed me how much better it looked hung at eye level. Michael listened respectfully and, when needed, explained why his idea might work better than mine.
