AND AGAIN MORE ISSUES!!! Windows took from April to October 2024 to be completed due to shotty materials and installers you had to communicate with through a translation app. HORRIBLE cleanup. When contract signed informed best in the industry warranty 100% no matter the issue. We are here for you. So..one window has a stress Crack and all 15 windows best in the industry caulk splitting at seams and falling, cracking off. Coming to fix all BUT, now 19 months later they charge a $149.99 service charge!!!!!! Why? Because their products are so shabby clearly they have sooooo many service call issues they have to make the customer cover there shabby products. Pitch was deceptive about their $0.00 fully covered replacement of anything. Wish I could attach pics from start to finish. Appalling. So disappointed I choose UWD. Based on that, we moved forward and spent over $13,000. > After installation, when preparing our taxes and reviewing the NFRC specifications, we learned the windows do not qualify. When I contacted customer service, I was told the contract does not guarantee tax credit eligibility — yet the contract says nothing about tax credit qualification either way. We were never offered an option that would have met the qualifying standard. > For a purchase this large, we expected better transparency. First I would say that the doors have save me substantially in energy cost. They are beautiful as well as secure. The results of my siding is amazing. Although, I chose the same color, It is obvious that something has been done to the house. People notice the difference right away, I painted the foundation purple to go with the gray siding. I can actually feel the difference inside from this unusually cold season. The workers were totally respectful, helpful. and committed to completion by their target date. They even went beyond the job by installing light fixtures that were not on my agreement. Those old fixtures would have looked crappy on the new siding. I really liked the work once it was completed. Such a clean, relaxing aesthetic. **Q: Single or double-hung?** *(in Windows)* Here's my question: Why would I want double-hung instead of single-hung? Is it just for ease of cleaning the exteriors of the upper panes by tilting them in, or is there another function I'm missing? Are single-hung less expensive than double? I need to be super budget conscious and if tilting in for cleaning is the only advantage of the double hung, I'm thinking that I might be able to afford better quality windows if I get a less expensive style. Thanks in advance. Our house was built in 1969 and still has the original wood windows with separate screens and storm windows. They are drafty, hard to open and hard to clean. I can't wait to be rid of them. A: Single hung windows have a less complex design than double hung, so generally they will cost slightly less. However, you have to factor in other elements such as material (wood is more expensive) and energy saving options (argon or krypton gas, low-e glazing, etc). As others have mentioned, the advantage of the double hung window is extra air ventilation and better convenience for cleaning. **Q: center window** *(in Photo Questions)* i bought an exterior window to put between two rooms. Up high. will the sheet rock accommodate this window INSIDE THE HOUSE? A: We suggest mounting the window to 2x4's as drywall will not support the weight of the window.
