For a decade, Flashhouse Principal Ian Roberts has been exploring his love for modern living in his hometown of Victoria, BC, where he’s known for distinctive residences that harmonize with their surroundings. A product of the graduate program in architecture at Arizona State University, he honed his craft in the US and here at home. > Ian is an absolute professional to work with. He came up with an architectural form that was modern and cost effective to build. This was a Dwell inspired 3 bedroom house with a legal 1 bedroom suite. From start to finish he kept us up to date with the construction schedule and the budget. The site was always tidy. We ran slightly over budget and time as we hit a small knob of rock during the excavation. The total build time was 4 months. Ian's team was quick to respond to a couple of small deficiencies after completion. I would highly recommend him.

The cabinets look wallhung - are they, or are they with recessed kick?  The height above ground looks less than the usual 12" for wallhung cabinets, or does it look smaller because of the large size of cabinets?  What is the height of cabinets above ground, and if recessed kick, how far recessed?
