I choose granite for the counter over the oven & for my long working/serving/eating island. It was with Ellen's guidance that I choose the white quartz for the other counters. When I was looking at whites, Ellen pointed out the small color fleck that warms it up. It is perfect! The installers so perfectly fit the quartz around my Franke apron front sink & into the window frame to be window sills for my Andersen windows. We shopped all over Portland and Vancouver, then realized we had a great company in our own backyard. Even with paying sales tax we saved good money and got a lot of value. The experience itself was also so much better than going to the great big showrooms where you can't actually see the price you pay, then going to a fabricator; that's so confusing. At AM&G the price per sq. ft. is right on the piece and they have beautiful pieces right there, plus a great selection of remnants. You only pay for what they use. The chiseled edge and honed finish were so worth the small increase in the overall project. We chose a Supreme remnant for our raised bar- it is the crowning touch and was only $55 sf. Brian, the designer, did a fabulous job of letting the rock suggest an organic shape; he then sent pictures of the actual piece with the suggested cut.
