**Q: What is construction mat'l** *(in Photo Questions)*

is the middle part of the walkway pavers or stamped/patterned concrete?

A: It is Belgard Mega Arbel Pavers in Oak Run Color

**Q: What colours best suit a living room with white and orange walls?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I just rented this apartment and having a hard time deciding on the the best colors for the blinds, couch and rug. A part of the wall is all orange while the rest of the three walls are white. I want a lively, cosy and classic color combination please help. I do not have a picture right now but I could send one in about four hours, after work. Could you please give me quick ideas already? Thank you

A: Stay neutral on the larger purchased, couch and blinds and add color on things like pillows and drapes. What style are you trying to achieve?

**Q: Fire pit for a modern house** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Anyone has a good idea? also it should be pretty small...

A: If you want it to be portable I would look at something with a hidden propane tank for easy moving. www.woodlanddirect.com has several modern styles. They are out of Michigan.

**Q: Outdoor Fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)*

There are a lot of pictures and designs for outdoor fireplaces.  I was curious if anyone has come across plans on how to construct a freestanding fireplace using cinder blocks?  There are prefab kits available however not in my neck of the woods and shipping would be very expensive!  Cinder block seems to be the logical choice, and I'm happy to do it myself if I had some plans as a starting point.

A: We build these often and the design is really up to you. Most of the design plans you are probably finding are made of a base from cinder block applying stucco or stone over the top as a finish. Be sure the interior of your fireplace is made with fire brick or clay bricks as the cinder block cant withstand the high temperatures.

**Q: Moisture issues and travertine?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I want to use travertine in the shower. I am worried that it will absorb moisture, even if I seal it. Or it will absorb water before I reapply the sealant. Please tell how your showers have held up using travertine.

A: We install travertine every day and I personally have it in my shower. It is important to seal it with a good sealer and you will find that it will protect your material well. The more dense the travertine the better off you are. The porous tiles such as gold leave additional room for mold growth. Your supplier can show you the difference. Generally the more solid the color, the denser the material. Lastly, be sure when you clean the area that you don't use bleach as it will damage the stone. There are several products on the market recommended for cleaning travertine.

**Q: Need help with curtine color!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Please help me to find the perfect curtine color for my livingroom, still not stand out as i wish, I'm gona star working on a big canvas for the wall, not sure wich color i should use

A: A quick google search brought several online retailers especially amazon, however, I recommend you go somewhere and feel the fabric to be sure it is what you want.
