> Exceptional Craftsmanship, Execution, and Partnership on Swinton Sands
>
> Working with Acassa Construction on the Swinton Sands project was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Their team demonstrated a rare combination of professionalism, field expertise, and commitment to quality that truly elevated the outcome of this custom luxury build.
>
> What stood out most was their ability to execute complex design details with precision while keeping the project moving efficiently. Communication was clear, timelines were respected, and their crew maintained a high standard of workmanship across every phase of construction. They approached challenges with solutions, not delays, which is invaluable on a high-end new construction project.
>
> Swinton Sands required thoughtful coordination, elevated finishes, and disciplined project management. Acassa delivered on all fronts. Their attention to detail, responsiveness, and pride in their work made them a strong partner throughout the build process.
>
> I would confidently recommend Acassa Construction to anyone seeking a builder who values quality, integrity, and execution as much as the final result.

**★★★★★ — Patricia Ward, Dec. 2024**

> Grateful for an innovative kitchen & bath remodeling designer and the construction company which took the vision and brought it to life. Acassa Construction was tasked with a major reconstruction involving extensive space planning & conception. Walls, doors, & floors were reconfigured to create a fully functioning kitchen, dining room and laundry room. The bath was transformed and enlarged to serve elderly needs including replacing bathtub with shower and protective grab bars without losing the sleek, sophisticated high-end look of a modern bath. The construction crew was polite, professional and skilled at their craft. I absolutely love the transition from a dark, traditional clutter look, to a clean, high tech, well lit modern environment. I now enjoy entertaining again. With the additional counter space, added pantry, bar & even a new linen closet, having guest is a breeze. Many thanks to Bill, Morgan, and his team at Acassa Construction.

**★★★★★ — Bob, May 2024**

> Bill and his team were very prompt and efficient. Start to finish on a complete bathroom tear-out and rebuild in less than two weeks. They went above and beyond what I expected. At the conclusion of each workday, the site was completely cleaned up. All materials that were provided were of very good quality and installed without problems.
> Having dealt with previous remodels and other contractors, these guys were far above anything I have seen here in south Florida!

**★★★★★ — Julie Fisher, Feb. 2024**

> Bill and his team were wonderful to work with and we couldn’t be happier with the final outcome. They touched every room and surface of our home and the transformation is incredible! When issues arose, as they do doing any construction project, they were super responsive and made sure we were happy and that things were done right. If you’re considering remodeling, Acassa should be at the top of your list!

**★★★★★ — Scott Abramson, March 2023**

> We hired Acassa to remodel our home. They had previously done another complete remodel on a previous home we owned, and the work and overall experience was top-notch. We expected the same and as usual Bill and his crew did a phenomenal job; we are extremely pleased with the result. He was able to work with our designer and communicated with us on a regular basis. It’s nice to know a contractor will show up, do amazing work in an expedient manner, offer insightful suggestions…can’t say enough about Bill. Would recommend Acassa to anyone considering construction or remodeling.

**★★★★★ — Stacey Veneziano, March 2023**

Bill was responsive, always in contact with us and the condo (who had strict rules), he was reliable and able to bring our vision to life. He knew exactly what we were looking for. The crew was meticulous as well. Highly recommend for any work you need done big or small!! Thanks Bill!

**★★★★★ — Les Nelson, Feb. 2023**

> Bill and his team did an incredible job. They completely remodeled my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. They also painted the entire interior, installed new flooring and trim throughout the house, replaced all interior doors and casings, and removed the popcorn from the ceiling. The end result was amazing. Bill provided design expertise at the beginning and was always available to answer questions throughout the project. I strongly recommend Acassa construction.

**★★★★★ — Peter Armour, Feb. 2023**

> We were very pleased with the house renovation work gone by Acassa.
> Our work included renovation of the floors, kitchen including cabinets, two bathrooms, dinning area, as well doorways and extending a wall in addition to moving the laundry.
> They completed the major renovation within the time frame agreed to as well as being timely when addressing our check list.
> The assigned project supervisor was always accessible and did a very good job in organizing the work.

> Bill and his team did an excellent job on my condo renovation from design, through demo and execution of the plan, keeping me informed of the progress throughout the job. The project included a new kitchen, electrical, plumbing, lighting, floors, ceilings, doors and painting throughout the unit. Acassa was on time and on budget.

> Bill Monroy and his team at Acassa Construction far exceeded our expectations on a complete renovation of our home in Ocean Ridge, Fl.
>
> Coordinating a project 1200 miles from home during a pandemic with a tight HOA construction window was never going to be easy but Bill and his PM David Rivero delivered a finished product exactly as promised and equally important, on-time.
>
> As common in any renovation when on-site situations differed from architectural drawings Bill's team offered workable real-time solutions that didn't delay the project.
>
> Acassa Construction's sub-contractors were exceptional as well. The availability of the HVAC, electrical and plumbing crews and their respective attention to detail is a testament to Bill's relationships developed over his many years in business in SE Florida.
>
> All in all a great experience with a beautiful result in an extremely difficult environment. Can't wait for the next project with Acassa!

> We have worked with Bill at Acassa Construction on 4 separate projects at our homes and have been more than pleased with the experience and results. Bill and his team are professionals in every way and trustworthy. This is our go-to contractor for smaller and large remodel work such as bathroom remodels, total gut remodel of our home and other projects that require high-caliber finishes. Thank you Bill and team for continuing to make our experience a great one!

> Acassa did a fantastic job on our house remodel project. Bill and his artisan crew transformed a 30 year old home into our dream come true. Finished on time, despite Covid delays and all the work was of the finest quality. We couldn’t be more pleased. Each day we admire our place and know we made the right choice.

> I can’t say enough how happy we are with our outdoor cook station. Bill and his team did an amazing job. It’s a beautiful addition to our backyard. Thank you again!!

**★★★★★ — Derek Roth, Jan. 2021**

> The Best in the business! Hands down! I can’t say enough about our experience with Bill and his incredible team. After having a bad experience with our first contractor, Bill came in and really made this a painless and smooth experience for us! His entire team are just top notch people. I really loved how if any issues arose (which in renovations often happen) Bill was solution oriented and always found the best way to solve the problem! He converted our 1957 Lake Ida house into a beach modern style bungalow (full renovation). We couldn’t be happier! He also promised us that he would get us into our home by thanksgiving and nailed the deadline!!
>
> Thanks so much Bill and the entire Team! We Highly recommend this company to anyone looking for the best quality work with great professionalism throughout the entire process!

**★★★★★ — Len, Sept. 2020**

> As I sit here at my computer, I find myself at a loss for words. How can I truly express the pleasure, fun and privilege to have worked with Bill at Acassa Construction? I thought about A-Z...
>
> A=Artisans. The folks who work with Bill are ARTISANS and craftsman. They are loyal, neat and extremely talented in all trades!!
> B=Obviously it's BILL, Best in class!! When we first met Bill at his unassuming, yet professional and well organized showroom, we knew we had found the "Guy".
> C=Consistently on top of his game. Great communication as well either by email or TEXT or phone.
> D=Dedicated, Diligent and Design focused.
> E=Excellence. Acassa always strives for excellence whether it's a perfectly mitered baseboard or a paint additive that eliminates ANY brush strokes or roller marks.
> F=Finesse. Yes, finesse!! Bill always insured that all of his work was done with finesse.
> G=GRAND!!! The word that everyone uses when they first walk-in to our Acassa remodeled home!! Bill's choice of doors alone is worth it all!!
> H=Happy!! Seems so trite, yet every time we sit in our living room or at the counter in our kitchen we smile...ear to ear!
> I=Impossible, yes impossible to find a negative about this experience. Despite back-ordered supplies due to the Covid situation, Bill always found another aspect of the project to allow his artisans to continue.
> J=Justice! This review will never do justice to the magnificent finished product.
> There aren't enough spaces to go through the alphabet...

**★★★★★ — Vanessa Richerson, Sept. 2020**

> We decided to hire Acassa Construction to do some renovation work on a house that we purchased at the onset of the pandemic, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. From the first time that I met Bill Monroy, I knew that he would be the right fit for the project. Unlike the other contractors who showed up empty handed to give us estimates, Bill came prepared and did not waste my time. He took notes, asked all the right questions, gave helpful and pertinent recommendations and was meticulous in taking down all the measurements for the work that needed to get done. He then follow up with a cost estimate for the project two days later! The cost estimate was thorough and listed all the items for each project and was reasonably and comparably priced in comparison with other estimates that we received. The project scope consisted of gutting three bathrooms, minor renovation work on 3 bathrooms, changing out floorings to one side of the house and a complete remodeling of the summer kitchen. Throughout the whole project, Bill was exceptionally helpful and put me at ease in helping me to design the bathroom and summer kitchen and picking out tiles, cabinetry, floorings, hardware and appliances for the summer kitchen. Fast forward 3 months later, and we had a beautifully renovated house to enjoy. We love all the renovation work that Acassa did on the house and will gladly hire Acassa Construction for future home projects. Thank you Bill and team for a job well done!

**★★★★★ — Linda Hubbard, Sept. 2020**

> I want to thank Bill and his team for the excellent renovation of my master bathroom. It looks like something out of a magazine. The work and results far exceeded my expectations.

**★ — kipsart, Sept. 2020**

> Unfortunately I regret hiring Acassa Construction In Delray Beach to demolish my existing driveway and install a brand new modern driveway with ramped access and a seating area. Shoddy work, rough finish, poorly planned and designed to be cohesively united with completed ramp and seating area, unsafe ramp/left a one inch drop off, divots, foot prints in cement, stain starting wearing away 3 months after completion, long cracks in cement and at edge of design, uneven and rough square border. Acassa Construction failed The City of Boca Raton's building permit for the apron. Second review failed permit remains. Acassa Construction has failed to make any adjustments to meet permit compliance for the City of Boca Raton and to remedy poorly poured driveway. Please feel free to contact me. Photos, permit, numerous letters to back complaint. :( I would give "zero" stars if the option existed!

**Comment from Acassa Construction LLC:**

> Dear Francis. I'm sorry that you're disappointed with the driveway. That was not your reaction when we finished the job. Image attached. You are bringing up an issue that is trying to be resolved with the city of Boca Raton, which remains closed due to Covid-19, so I do apologize for the delay but we need to be patient given the situation. Concrete driveways will fade over time and show cracks, or discoloration. Your job was completed in 2018 and now you're bringing this up. With regards to the "design" etc, this was all approved in plan review with the city. I sent men to your house 3 days after we finished and you were completely satisfied with our work back then!

**★★★★★ — tpbashiri, July 2020**

> Acassa construction was a joy to work with. They helped bring my vision to life and we’re patient with me as I made changes along the way. Bill will be my first call when we decide to do another project.

**★★★★★ — Karen Hodson, June 2020**

> We have used Bill Monroy and his company for a previous remodeling project, so we were comfortable hiring Acassa to remodel our guest bathroom and master bathroom. Bill is a great person, and a great professional to work with. His guidance in both design and materials to fit within our budget was amazingly helpful. Both jobs went very smoothly with only minor setbacks, as expected in any building project. The end results are stunningly beautiful bathrooms. The skill, knowledge and focus of Bill's crew, and their attention to cleanliness while working was excellent. The finished bathrooms show incredible workmanship and beauty, and will add considerably to both the enjoyment of our home, and its value.

**★★★★★ — lorisinacori, June 2020**

> Bill was recommended to us by a family member and we couldn’t be more pleased with our complete condo renovation. His employees were very respectful of our needs considering we had to Live in the condo during the five week complete renovation. They were extremely dependable here every day and a pleasure to have in our home. The work is beautiful and I will continue to recommend Acassa as I have already recommend them to several friends already.

> I am very pleased with the total renovation done by Bill and his team! Everyone on his team was kind, professional and talented. A pleasure to work with them all!

**★★★★★ — Ira Spinner, March 2020**

> I met Bill the owner of Acassa on the golf course. I don't know if that's the best referral source? It turns out that my first impression of the gentleman was correct. I hired Acassa to transform my 26 year dated kitchen into a gorgeous new kitchen. His workman were neat and professional . He kept to his schedule and his budget.. He is now in the process of having the house painted and I'm replacing all my lights with the newer LED versions.
> The quality of work is better than any new construction I have seen. Thank You Bill and the entire Acassa team.

**★★★★★ — Michael Manyak, Oct. 2019**

> Bill Monroy of Acassa Construction remodeled my condo in Delray Beach FL and did a very good job. He is very professional and friendly, listened and provided good advice about remodeling issues, was reasonably priced appropriate for the job, and was honest. This is what you look for in a contractor and I highly recommend him.

**★★★★★ — HU-720143480, Aug. 2019**

> Bill and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were very professional, prompt, and courteous. Bill was always very responsive to any questions or concerns I had. Any issues or changes were always quickly explained and detailed to me so I never felt surprised. We are very happy with the end result and will be referring them to family and friends.

**★★★★★ — Marianna Polonsky, April 2019**

> We hired Acassa Construction for a very large renovation in January of 2018. Our project was a result of an internal flood and we were looking to rebuild as well as renovate additional parts of our home that were not affected by the flood. I am extremely detail oriented and have a very clear idea of how and what I want done. Bill and his crew were extremely meticulous in their work and had incredible suggestions for problem solving anything that came along. They were incredibly professional, always showed up when they were supposed to, we clean and polite and very helpful. Bill has a great sense of design and can provide solutions, suggestions and ideas that are tailored to the specific client. He is extremely approachable and is always available to get in touch with as well as explain any concerns or questions. We have worked with several contractors in this area and the difference is extremely obvious- this company is pristine not only in their work but in their service, which is incredibly hard to find in South Florida. Pricing is fair and the workmanship is really A+. We were so pleased with the initial phase of our renovation that we added 2 additional and large scale projects to our overall work with Bill and Acassa Construction. Thank you to your team of fantastic, talented and hard workers - we LOVE our home!!!

**★★★★★ — HU-232680086, April 2019**

> We are very pleased to credit Acassa Construction with doing an excellent job when they reconstructed our kitchen with beautiful cabinets and laminate floors throughout our apartment. During the project we felt that Bill and his staff were interested in doing the very best job possible within our budget. From the advice and support we received in the showroom to the removal of the existing floors and to the actual installation of the new vinyl floors and cabinets, we felt that everyone took great pride in their work. All of the workers were knowledgeable and very respectful. We were referred by neighbors who had beautiful work done in their apartments and we would not hesitate to recommend them to others who plan remodeling in their homes.

**★★★★★ — Haig Dikijian, Jan. 2019**

> Our Condo was destroyed in a sprinkler system failure...total loss to unit and all its contents. We were devastated. We interviewed many contractors and settled on Bill Monroy and Acassa Construction Corporation. It was the best decision since buying our Condo 10 years ago.
> There are many factors to consider when choosing a company to renovate or rebuild your home...cost estimate...reputation of the Company...skill and friendliness of the workers....quality of materials used...responsiveness of the owner to you questions/concerns etc. Well let me tell you this , Bill Monroy and Acassa Construction have exceeded all our expectations. We are thoroughly please with the work, the price , and the timeliness of the rehab. If you are in need of a quality construction company in Palm Beach County, you will do no better that Acassa Construction.

**★★★★★ — A Stryker, Jan. 2019**

> Very professional and trustworthy. Gets work done in a timely manner. The quality of work far exceeded my expectations. I happily recommend Acassa Construction Corporation to future customers.

> This is the first time I wrote a reco for anything/one. My wife and I did not have any general contractor contacts when we purchased our home in Delray. After combing every site possible looking for the best rated contractor we landed on Acassa Construction. This was our first gut remodel and let’s just say that Bill and his team delivered in every way. This is our second home so we where not present for the remodel. Bill regularly sent us pics of progress, called to discuss options to achieve our design and keep within our budget and provided guidance where needed.
>
> We look forward to working with Acassa Construction and the whole team on fortune projects. We highly recommend there work and professionalism.
>

**★★★★★ — Allen Richards, Aug. 2018**

> We hired Bill to do several of our renovations of houses with values upwards of 3 million. And each time he delivered quality finishes and stunning results. We had no trouble finding buyers on any house Bill remodeled for us. We highly recommend him.

**★★★★★ — Gem Lenard, May 2018**

> We hired Bill to do a total renovation of our condo. In addition to the construction we used Bill and Tina to help us design the bathrooms and kitchen along with all tile work. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. We reside out of state and flew down only a few times to see the progress. The entire project was completed on a timely basis. Bill seemed to know exactly what we liked and needed and when it came to making decisions for us, his suggestions were always spot on. Bill came highly recommended to us and we received 3 other estimates before choosing Bill. His prices were very competitive and there were no surprises when it came to our final payment. I would definitely use Acassa Construction again.

**★★★★★ — T Travel, May 2018**

> Hired Bill and his crew to renovate our outdated kitchen. The project involved removing all existing cabinets, appliances and plumbing. With a bare kitchen Bill's team meticulously installed new cabinets, quartz countertops, backsplash, appliances, sink, faucet and paint the walls.
>
> It was very easy to work with Bill. With the help of his design center team we were able to make great looking selections while staying in budget. The final project cost came in exactly as quoted. No surprises.
>
> The work crews were great. They were friendly, skilled and eager to do a great job. I'm still amazed at how versatile and talented the guys were. They did it all, cabinetry, electrical, painting and plumbing.
>
> In short, I would highly recommend Acassa Construction and would definitely use them again.

**★★★★★ — Sam LaMachia, Dec. 2017**

> We had 2 bathrooms remodeled to allow for "zero-entry" showers. The entire process, from laying out the scope of work, to tile and fixture selection, to project completion, was simply a pleasure. The crew began the project and worked every day until the project was complete. Both bathrooms were completed in a professional manner and in a matter of just a few weeks. If you are looking for a competent, honest, reliable, and quality company for your home improvements, be sure to contact Acassa Construction.

**★★★★★ — Galen Briggs, Dec. 2017**

> Good things happen--- We were in a large construction supply store one day trying to determine how to proceed with the renovation of our three bathrooms when a gentleman overheard us and offered to assist. Several weeks later we stopped by the showroom of Acassa Construction. To our surprise the same gentleman that had helped us weeks before, Bill Monroy, owner of Acassa Construction, was there and we began to talk again. After considering several proposals we chose his company to assist us. The scope of the work included three full bathroom renovations, addition of a small closet in one bedroom, renovation of a dressing area and construction of a new deck with jacuzzi and lighting outside of our master suite.
>
> I have some experience with construction and my expectations were not high for this project. Fortunately we were surprised at every turn. Bill and his company showed great flexibility as the project changed and elements were added, the project stayed on schedule throughout and came in on time and on budget. We were living in the home at the time so it was necessary to maintain a clean and orderly environment which the workers respected.
>
> If you are looking for a full service contractor that is honest and will do his very best to meet or exceed your expectations I would highly recommend Bill and his company for your next project large or small.

**★★★★★ — Mitchell Pollak, Nov. 2017**

> Just finished a new addition to our home with Bill Monroy of Acassa Construction. We can't speak more highly about him. His workers were a pleasure to work with and highly professional. The addition was for a new master bedroom suite (including a new master bathroom and closets), new roof on the whole house, new A/C and ductwork, insulation, and a new patio ceiling. Bill was always accessible by phone, text, or email. He walked us through the permitting, construction, and final permits. He never complained when I asked him to do something not in the original contract, such as adding an outdoor shower on a new wall. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

**★★★★★ — Marsha Schneider, May 2017**

> From start to finish Acassa Construction was reliable and professional. The work area was kept, by the workers, as clean and as minimally disruptive as possible. The bathroom and living room came out perfectly. There were no surprises no extra charges. I would use Acassa Construction again.

> The principal of this company, Bill Monroy, makes a lovely impression when he comes to meet a prospective client. Unfortunately, our renovation was a nightmare. Bill offered very little oversight of his workers and the workers themselves were third-rate, from painters to electricians. We received a number of complaints from the condo board about the trash left outside the unit each night during the length of the project.
>
> The problems ranged from Bill, the owner of the company, buying the wrong color paint even though I had e-mailed him the names of the colors. He returned the paint and again, bought a color I had not specified. The paint job was poor and had to be redone twice. Painters did not use painters tape when applying black paint to a staircase set against a white wall. Our contract specified that walls and ceilings would be skim coated. Although the skim coating was included in the total price of the project, approximately $43,000, Bill would not adhere to the contract and I had the skim coating done only after I agreed to pay an additional $1,000 for the work.
>
> The painters did not clean the premises and left trash and paint cans on the lawn outside my unit. Workers left filled refrigerator unplugged so all food rotted. Painters dripped paint on new kitchen cabinets. (Most of this is documented by photos) Bill never acknowledged any problem, always maintaining "homeowners always want everything to be perfect." Of course we do! I paid him about $43,000 and left a few thousand on the table when he just became too difficult and upsetting to deal with. He had promised to send photos of the work as it progressed, as I was at my Manhattan home during the length of the project. I got a total of two photos.
>
> I am more than happy to back any of this up with photos and more details. Less than a year after painting was completed, my bedroom has large cracks running several feet. I contacted Acassa about this and received no response. I would not recommend this company.

> Erika,

> Including the new air conditioning system we installed, the removal of existing tile and installation of approx. 2,000 SF of rectified wood plank tile, bathroom tile installation, pop corn removal, quartz counter tops, and electrical work, the value of the painting work amounted to LESS than 10% of the value you hired us to do. However, you fail to include in your derogatory comments any praise for all of the work we did. Including moving your furniture back and forth!
>
> Regarding the painting, which you now bring up, on February 6 of 2016 (over 15 months ago!) I sent you the following via email:
>
> "It's obvious that no matter how many men or days we spend working at your place that we will never meet your expectations, however unreal they are, regarding the finish of the walls painted. Besides the initial time, materials, and labor dedicated to your home under our original scope of work, my men returned to your home for an additional 3 days to address the countless blue tape markings you had on the wall. You indicated to Alfredo, my painter, that you were satisfied at that time. Now you insist that more work needs to be done.
>
> It is also clear that you do not want to pay the balance for the ADDITIONAL electrical work that was done.
>
> At this time, I will consider our business concluded. Keep the $1,000 you owe and be well.."
>
> Now, 15 months later, you attempt to discredit our work and tarnish my reputation by your unfounded comments. For three days back in January of last year, I had a full crew there taking care of all the "issues" you had with the intention of making sure you were another satisfied customer. We concluded our "touch up" work, and sent you the final bill. After 5 weeks of trying to collect the final balance for the additional work we did, I sent you that email as it was obvious you just did not want to pay.
>
> Your assertion that we dripped paint over the new cabinets is NOT true since we were finished with our work prior to your cabinet crew came in to install them.
>
> I try to do well by my customers on EVERY project, and try to work with my clients to resolve any issues no matter how difficult they become. In your case I know that we tried and my conscious is clear, but you're just one customer I don't think anybody could please. I'm sure that for the $1,000 you never paid me you can find a painter to repaint the walls you think are so awful. (For you readers who got this far, the TOTAL value of the painting scope was $4,500 including
> 1.Sand down stair railing and paint white with oil based paint
> 2.Paint (2) coats interior walls (except bathrooms) in standard Sherwin Williams, or comparable, paint
> 3.Prime and paint baseboards
> 4.Paint existing door casing and doors
> 5.Paint ceilings

> Bill Monray renovated two bathrooms for us during the winter of 2016. During the entire project Bill was responsive, returned calls promptly, and always addressed our concerns. He did quality work which was fairly priced. He employed a great work crew who were neat, efficient, and conscientious. I would definitely call Bill again for any renovation projects we are considering.

> LOOK NO FURTHER! YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR MAN! THE BEST OF THE BEST IS BILL MONROY at ACASSA CONSTRUCTION!
>
> I was born and raised in South Florida and I also happen to be the daughter of a real estate developer, so I have always known that good contractors were hard to come by. It wasn't until I became a homeowner myself that I unfortunately discovered that good contractors are not just "hard to come by" but almost IMPOSSIBLE to find. Thankfully, when we were looking to do an accent wall in our home, our friends referred us to Bill over at Acassa Construction (formerly Gemco). We simply told him that we wanted an "accent wall" and he took it all from there: he spent hours with us scouring over pictures on the internet finding inspiration and designing the perfect wall based upon the contemporary look we were trying to achieve. Bill NAILED IT!
>
> He was able to start the project quickly (right in the middle of the holiday season), his workers were all courteous, professional, punctual, cleaned up after themselves every day, and took extreme pride in their work. They were all perfectionists, and they genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Another very important note (in my opinion) is that some of Bill's workers have been with him for many, many years, which speaks volumes for what kind of person Bill is and what kind of operation he runs!
>
> We are BLOWN AWAY by the finished product and the quality of work and every single person that walks into our home says the same thing! We cannot thank Bill and his team enough, and we will certainly be using him for any projects in the future. We have already referred him to several friends and family members and will continue to do so!
>
> Great guys, great company, incredible work! You won't be disappointed! Take a look at our feature wall!

> I have worked with several contractors over the years and Gemco has been the most professional of all of them. The quality of the work was always first class. My biggest pet peeve is timeliness and if Gemco said they were going to be there weather permitting they showed up. I would highly recommend them.

**★★★★★ — Michael Ricozzi, Oct. 2016**

> Gemco USA did an excellent job on our bathroom remodeling project. The job was completed within budget and timely. There were no surprises. Management worked with us to develop all plans and expectations. The crew was professional and courteous with my family and my home.

**★ — afvstar, Sept. 2016**

> It was the most frustrating process with a very sensitive and defensive owner. No matter what the issue was, there was always an excuse. I started writing everything in detail and it's just too time consuming and lengthy. Do enough research, ask enough questions and write everything down. By keeping notes, texts and emails we were able to save ourselves from more headaches.

**Comment from Acassa Construction LLC:**

> I am really surprised at the 1 star review you left on Houzz following the addition and renovation I did for you.
>
> Although it is true that your job had many delays, they were NOT my doing. Your house had many code irregularities that had to be rectified BEFORE the permit could be issued and work started. For instance things like an outdated site plan which you provided me with wrong information about the fence, and the A/C system having been installed without permits PRIOR to me getting involved in your project.
>
> I put numerous hours of my time and trips to the building department going to bat you in order to meet with a plan reviewer or code enforcement official. Time that I did not bill you for and which quite frankly was not in my scope of work.
>
> I addition, I repaired and poured a new slab for you, which was NOT part of our scope of work either, but which we did in order to leave your place in a better shape than we found it. I ended up replacing most of the ceiling drywall in your kitchen because Curtis, your husband, asked to do so as well. Issues that were inspected by the city and approved, but which did not meet your husband's expectations were also taken care of, like the stucco finish on the soffits.
>
> Like with any other renovation jobs, we may have had a day or two delay by issues brought up by a city inspector, but those were also rectified right away. All along we treated your house with respect and I believe we conducted ourselves in a professional manner.
>
> I am offended by your review and quite frankly by your rating. I could understand a 1 star review had I not finished the job, walked out of it, or done shoddy work. But your additional came out beautiful and your home is better now than when I started work there.

> Complete remodeling of 2 bathrooms. Total project about $35,000. GEMCO and Bill the owner is the most reputable and reliable contractor I have used over our 20+ years in Florida. Very high quality work, extremely honest and reliable. Bill is a very talented designer and was invaluable in helping us bring the whole project together. Complete turnkey project services at a cost that's competitive with piecemeal contractors who farm out work to others or leave it to home owner. Gemco can supply all of the materials and take responsibility for all labor. Every possible detail and finishing work was furnished. Didn't have to ask. Bill even did some research on the web and found us the perfect mirror for the Master Bath. All through the process from design to demo and construction as well as after project touch-ups were handled expertly and quickly.

**★★★★★ — Scott Abramson, Aug. 2016**

> We are so happy we chose Gemco; we interviewed several other contractors and although Gemco was not the lowest bid, they were worth every penny. Bill is a perfectionist and was able to help guide us with design choices that ended up perfect; the work was done on schedule and within the estimated quote. His team is courteous and pleasant to work with. Any questions were addressed quickly; we can't say enough about our experience. We highly recommend Bill to anyone needing work; we would definitely hire him again.

> We hired Gemco to remodel our kitchen, bathroom and floors and we could not be happier! The result is just stunning. Bill was a great resource for us as we made decisions that would last years. He always lent his expertise and knowledge. His team was so pleasant to work with, and it's important as they were there every single day for a month. Bill ensured the project stayed on track, coming in right on budget and a week early! He checked in with me and his team daily to ensure things were running smoothly. When we move forward with the 2 other bathrooms we'll definitely give Bill a call. Hire Gemco, you won't regret it!

> Bill Monroy is the best contractor you will ever have. He is honest, hardworking, selfless, fair, and a wonderful man. The previous owner of my house introduced me to Bill. Like most people, I am very skeptical of contractors, because you never know what to expect. When I asked about him the previous owner told me this. "If you are looking to pay a really cheap price, then you are going to get really cheap work; but if you want amazing quality work at a very fair price then call Bill.
>
> When I first met Bill, he walked through my door for a meeting EARLY with a huge smile on his face. Since he was early I was still finishing up with an insulation removal quote, for which he waited patiently with out complaint. For the next 20 minutes while I was finishing with the insulation contractor, he listened attentively and asked a few questions on my behalf. When the insulation man left he calmly told me about a service that FPL has for insulation and referred me to FPL's list of insulation removers, which saved me $700. He didn't ask for anything in return. This was a genuine and selfless attempt to help me as a new home owner.
>
> Remodeling work is a messy business. You are going to have mistakes and it is those mistakes, which cause the most tension and stress between you and your contractor. When I was working with Bill, he fixed every issue without fuss or hassle. If something needed to be changed or fixed, he just took care of it. He went above and beyond on everything and never charged me extra. Even when I asked him to charge me more, because I began to feel like I was taking advantage of his good will, he wouldn't accept it.
>
> Bill and his team at Gemco built our new kitchen. They grouted our floors; installed and sealed marble countertops; installed cabinets, backsplash, hardware, a new garbage disposal, electrical outlets, and recessed lighting. This was not an easy job and we absolutely love it! I was impressed with every member of his team and will absolutely hire him again for future projects.

> After an exhausting search for a good contractor and getting the "run-around" from other companies, we finally found Gemco USA Corp. We spoke with Bill and he was amazing! We hired Gemco USA Corp to re-do a corner shower in our guest bathroom. We took out the existing corner shower "plastic mold" and had Gemco build a new shower pan, tile the wall with a niche and mosaic, and install frameless glass shower doors. We had no clue where to begin with this project. We didn't know the first thing about the different types and styles of tile. Bill helped us figure out exactly what materials we needed and explained the whole job step-by-step in detail. His estimated project timeline was spot on! He quoted us 4 days and in 4 days the job was completed. His crew was great as well, work diligently and cleaned up each day. We are in the process of purchasing a new home and we will not hesitate to call on Bill for any remodeling needs in our new home! Our guest bathroom looks amazing and we cannot wait to hire Gemco again for projects in our new home!

> I hired Gemco USA in May 2015 to act as General Contractor (GC) for the renovation of the master bathroom (approx. area 11’ x 10’) in my condominium. I hired them based on the outstanding reviews they received on Houzz.com, as well my inspection of one of their completed bath remodels.
>
> The scope of work included Demo (down to the studs); Framing of a “Zero-Entry” Barrier in Shower, Platform for Soaker Tub (to allow for drain connection), Shower and Bath Niches, and Decorative Wall Cubicles; Sheetrock/Durock of all Walls; and Installation of Wall and Floor Tile (porcelain, stone, glass mosaic), Double Sink Vanities, Mirror, and Bath Hardware. Gemco sub-contracted the services of Mike the Plumber, I.M. Electric, and Selective Glass Design with respect to the installation of all Plumbing, Electric, and Glass rough and finish work. Gemco was also responsible for obtaining the necessary primary and sub-permits from Palm Beach County and scheduling/passing all required inspections.
>
> Bill Monroy, owner and president of Gemco, managed the project. All work was done in a timely and professional manner. There were no “gaps” in scheduling, employees and sub-contractors always arrived as planned with positive attitudes, took great care to protect my property from dirt and damage, and followed all condo rules. Bill’s interpersonal and communication skills are exceptional; he responded to all calls/texts within minutes.
>
> In terms of direct supervision, Bill was on-site to plan and measure the first day of the job, the first day of framing, the first day of plumbing, and as needed thereafter. He worked closely with his employees as well as the plumbing and electrical subcontractors to help ensure that everyone knew what to do. If I have any criticism of Gemco, it’s that some of Bill’s employees require more supervision than others.
>
> The quality of all work, by employees and subcontractors, was excellent. On the rare occasion that I asked for something to be redone, Bill was more than accommodating…without any extra charges. Bill offered design suggestions that proved invaluable to the function of the shower (“zero entry” barrier) and the overall look of the bathroom (e.g., decorative cubicles). His plumbing, electrical, and glass subcontractors were superb. Gemco’s portion of the job took about eight weeks; pretty standard for the scope of this renovation. I would be remiss if I did not make special mention of two of Bill’s employees: Edgar for his excellent tile work, and Roy for his outstanding framing and finish work. It is important to note that county inspections were easily passed.
>
> In terms of the cost of the work, Gemco’s price was very fair; midway between the other two estimates I received. In retrospect, I know I made the right choice…there was never any “nickel and diming” for “extras.” I wound up paying exactly what I had contracted for.
>
> In summary, do not hesitate to hire Gemco USA for your renovation needs. I would definitely hire Gemco USA again for future remodeling projects and that’s the highest endorsement possible.

Bill Monroy is an absolute pleasure to work with. I have never worked with a contractor as responsive as Bill. I am always able to get a hold of him if I have questions and, if he is unavailable, he is always quick to return my call. I can't say this about any other contractor I've worked with in South Florida! I can also say that his workers are outstanding! Their attention to detail is impeccable and I never have to worry about having strangers working in the home. I have the utmost trust in all of the Gemco workers we've had I and feel 100% confident having them in my home, even when I am not there. Gemco gave good advice about everything from tile choice to decorative layout details. This complete renovation was very messy and yet at the end of each day, Roy would clean up all the tools and pieces. He even swept the pathways on the dustier days. And at the end of the job, there was not any change to the contracted price. Everyone was extremely considerate of being in a family home. Our four young children were treated with kindness and our property was treated with respect. For these reasons, we have already referred Gemco to friends and family.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Warm Up a Modern Space** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I pulled the trigger, and this modern kitchen is currently being built for our home. I love so much about it, but can’t help but feel the space is still so cold! Does anyone have ideas about how to warm the space up? The light fixtures have not been selected yet, but the cabinets are under construction, and the slabs purchased.

A: Add some dramatic pendants with either colored globes, or warm yellow light. A light in the 3K spectrum will warm up the look. Use colorful vases, props to add color as well.

**Q: PLEASE TELL ME THE RANGE OF PRICE FOR THESE BARN DOORS** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: With the hardware $800

**Q: POLL: Light or Dark Bottom Pools?** *(in Polls)*

So many pools and so little time! There are so many gorgeous pools to look at here, and it's hard to pick a favorite. If you were to choose between a light or dark bottom pool, what would you prefer?

VOTE and tell us about it in the comments!

A: Recently, as part of a pool deck and summer kitchen renovation project, the pool got a new darker finish. It looks more like a pond that a pool, but it’s a refreshing look.

**Q: Help! Busy backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I want to replace the current backsplash because it’s too busy with the Venetian Gold granite. Would this 4x12 ( white) tile look good? If not, what do you suggest? I like a Transitional- Contemporary look.

A: I agree with Dina P that a travertine would look the best, whether monochromatic or mixed (as in pic), or pick a hue from the granite itself and try to match it with a rectangular glass tile for a more transitional look.

**Q: Bathroom remodel or not...** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Looking for some ideas on a two bathroom remodel. Or whether I should bother at all. Here are the details:

Master is 4' x 8'
Spare is 5' x 8'
They share a wall and are mirror images of each other (except master has shower only). See attached layout and pics.

My main goal is to make the master bigger. The ONLY way to gain more sqft is to bump out into a hallway on the other side of the spare bathroom. (See attached image of one redesign option).(Master bath is locked on all side except for moving the spare out). This would require extensive work, moving walls, breaking concrete and rearranging all plumbing.

I've gotten several quotes from contractors and they are all around the same ball park: 35-45k. I have the money, but not much left after.

This is a 500k home I plan to sell within 5 years. Is it even worth doing? Would I recoup the cost selling it in a few years? Would the larger bathroom be more appealing to potential buyers?

All ideas, opinions, comments welcome.

Thank you!

A: I would not expand into the hallway, as that is not ideal either. I would optimize the use of mirrors to make the spaces appear bigger. You should also think about using floating vanities, frameless shower doors, and lighter colors for your finishes. If you have drop ceilings or soffits, lose them. Incorporate recessed lighting as well. Attached are some ideas.

**Q: Help updating the exterior of our new house?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

How can we colors to use to modernize the exterior paint of our new home? We are planning to update the posts. We can't decide whether to keep the natural brick or paint it. The roof is newer so we need to incorporate that in as well. Any ideas?
Thank you!

A: The columns at the front porch seem very skinny, out of proportion, with respect to the big A frame above. I would beef them up. I recently cladded some thin steel posts with composite wood and added ledge stone at the base for a contemporary look. I would also lose the red outline. Use only one color.
