Luxury vinyl plank installed in a newly built home started looking old and worn within 2 weeks of moving in. After a year of them trying to clean it with different products, they are now telling us we could put the sticky mats (like at construction sites) at each door of our new home and suggested we sweep our front porch, something we do routinely. They claim there is nothing wrong with this floor despite how bad it looks and how poorly it is wearing. They claim to be flooring experts and that complete customer satisfaction is their goal. They have proven neither of these things to us. Our builder, site manager, and multiple other people have told us this floor is not performing as it should. Star continues to tell us there is nothing wrong with it. > "Star carries the very highest quality of materials". "You get not only the product warranty and the installer's warranty but Star's 75-year reputation standing behind every product and every installation." These are words from their web site. You don't get these things with luxury vinyl plank, a product they claimed pre-purchase was durable and one of the best we could buy. And you don't get these things after the sale when the product does not perform. Star has walked away from the situation, leaving us in a brand new home with terrible looking floors. > "It's literally the foundation on which you'll bring your vision to life." The statement they make with regard to flooring. Having never built a new home, this was a vision, and a dream.
