I signed up with them for a shower remodel in November 2023 > > However their customer service is terrible and accounting is worse! Poor communication during the project, from the sales person and the project manager, and promises made were not kept. On top of that, they "discovered" a check in August, 2025 that I had paid to them 2 years after the check (and project completed in November 2022) was written and then they tried to deposit a "stale dated" check which was rejected by my bank. The total amount of the project, in excess of $18K had, in fact, been paid by me! Upon asking for "what happened" they denied any reason. I asked repeatedly for a detailed set of invoices showing parts and labor as well as their accounting of what I had paid, and it wasn't until they took the time to research all of those details, they found them and then flatly said, they "told me so". > > If you decide to do business with them, I suggest you get everything written and documented in advance of signing anything with them. I also suggest you get all the details of your "wants" determined in advance. Their "add on" features after the contract is signed is outrageous and you have NO leverage over negotiating with them. There are much better, honest and responsible contractors looking for business with great business ethics! **Comment from GVD Renovations & Remodeling:** > Our team completed this remodel to the agreed specifications and provided full documentation of all work and materials. At project completion, the client issued a check for the final balance of $3,500, confirming agreement on the amount due. During final account reconciliation, we later discovered that the check had not cleared. While the deposit was delayed on our end, that did not change the client’s obligation to complete payment for the project. > > We provided all supporting invoices and records to clarify the balance due. Although the client later raised new concerns and requested unsupported credits, after reviewing the documentation they issued a new check for the same amount and the account was settled in full. > > We’re disappointed that a negative review resulted from a legitimate payment request, as our only goal was to close the project properly.
