Know a middle of the road brown?** *(in Home Decorating)* I’ve scrolled through a lot of white oak flooring posts in the archives, but am posting for updated thoughts/opinions/photos… We are not trendy people so we don’t want anything with gray or white wash, and we don’t want flooring that is too dark (previous trend) or super light (current trend). \*We are looking for a classic neutral/middle of the road brown. Any homeowners or experts with opinions?\* We are considering Provincial and Early American. My concern is Early American has too much pink undertone (like Special Walnut) and Provincial may be too dark. Any feedback on those? Or ideas of a custom mix or other options we haven’t considered? Photos of your similar projects are welcomed as well. These are the samples from the flooring company: A: I’m on this struggle bus right now. Everything that I sampled looks nothing like anything you see online or even on the samples in the stores. It’s so important to know what brand the floor guy uses and that adding a sealer will also change the colors. I want a color similar to what you have. I managed to get the perfect color on scraps that were installed in our house. So it’s the same exact wood and when I sampled it on the floor that they laid it looked sooo different. My mind was blown. **Q: how to get this floor stain color?** *(in Home Decorating)* Found this picture online the person posting said it was a custom stain blend using bona stains on red oak. Anyone have a guess how to get this color on red oak? A: I know this post is old but did I’m curious what you ended up with and if you’re happy with it? I’m looking for the exact color. At this point I think I own every stain color and still can’t figure it out. **Q: what is the wall color?** *(in Photo Questions)* details on the shade of white you painted with. A: We actually had the painter match it to the cabinets so it doesn't have a name. Sorry **Q: Love the cabinet hardware** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you tell me the manufacturer, style name and finish of the cabinet hardware please? A: They're Lew's Hardware in brushed brass **Q: who makes the floor and what dimension are the tiles?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: It's by MSI International at Home Depot.
