> Isaac came highly recommended by both a good friend from Memphis and an architect from Nashville. When my wife and I met with him for the first time, we immediately knew we had chosen well. Wantland Ink helped us build a home on 15 acres. Preserving the character of the property was our most important goal. Isaac was the right man for the job. We honestly never considered how much creativity, knowledge, and experience is needed from the landscape architect to make the project successful. We do now. We ended up with a much different project than what I originally set out to do, because Isaac prevented me from making mistakes. His help was invaluable in the foundational elements like how to position the project for best use of sun exposure, topography, and land use. His experience around materials and plants that work versus those that didn't were essential. But the biggest thing was his creativity. We ended up with elements that we can't imagine living without all because of Isaac's ingenuity. We have a lake and a pavilion/dock that Isaac designed that we use every day during the summer. We have a meandering driveway that highlights God's gift of the trees on our property. We have a basketball court that has the perfect playing surface to match the driveway with inlaid lines and shooting key. And I could go on. Throughout the entire building process, Isaac was a counselor, expert, friend, and therapist. He was our constant source of truth and a mediator between all the various subs and people on my project in both the landscape and non-landscape elements of our house. He just ended up being the person that we related to the best, whose judgment we trusted most, and whose advice on many topics of the construction process was the collaborative spark that brought all players in the process together for a good outcome. Isaac was conscientious of our budget. He was flexible with his time in order to get us what we needed and nothing we didn't. He always listened to what we wanted to achieve and then helped to find the right solution that we believed in rather than pushing his own agenda. Of all the things I appreciate about Isaac, I am most grateful for how he took our project seriously but never took himself too seriously. He made the stressful work of building a house fun. I recommend Wantland Ink without reservation.

> We worked with Isaac to renovate a Williamsburg-style home and landscape. His nuanced understanding of the sophisticated elegance we were aiming for was unerring. He subtly added pleasing landscape details and slyly edited and deleted existing elements where necessary. The front entry gate he designed provides the security we sought, but at the same time, is wonderfully inviting. The planting design was just the icing on the cake. Visitors cannot fathom the landscape is only years old, not decades. Isaac meshed well with the other members of the design team and our project is much the better due to his involvement. Hire Isaac, listen to him, and don’t hesitate to implement his ideas. His input is valuable and your project will be enhanced with the addition of him as a team member.

> Look no further for your Landscape Architect. Wantland Ink, brilliantly led by Isaac Wantland is undoubtedly the best you will find. I am a general contractor and recently built my own custom home in Memphis, TN. The architect we hired suggested we interview Isaac. Within 30 seconds of meeting Isaac my wife and I were sold. Isaac has an amazing, inviting demeanor and an intellectual prowess governing his lofty talents. He loves what he does, and it shows in everything he creates and designs. From concept to finish there was never an issue that Isaac didn't handle beautifully and among all sub-contractors we worked with, he was our favorite. Now that we have moved into our beautiful new home, and are seeing our first Spring enhanced by everything Issac designed (and we followed every single detail 100%) we are seeing a gorgeous product. We have hosted a couple of spring gatherings with friends at our new home and the landscape design is always noticed. There are many people who claim to be landscape designers, but there is a major step up to landscape architects; a step you will be very happy you took if you want the best. For our dream home, we did not hesitate to take that step. For our entire project we hired the best in their respective fields at every point in the process. Isaac was no exception. To this day we remain in contact with Isaac over various odds and ends and tweaks, and he comes to Memphis from Nashville fairly frequently to visit in person as well. We love having him stop by. We not only want to show him how great everything turned out, but we want to be around him as a friend. You will too!

> Wantland ink landscape architecture firm in my experience exceeded my greatest expectations(and i am picky!) in designing an entire new landscape when i renovated my home. Not only did issac wantland design a creative, beautiful landscape he also designed and directed the design of a driveway, front brick walk, bluestone backyard terrace complete with built in tree, plant containers, \>i was given complete and easily understood "blueprint" designs,an accurate, functional, drainage plan, and even a booklet of the plants, etc to be used with pictures so i could understand exactly the plan and learn at the same time! Issac will answer all questions in a prompt manner-in person, phone or email!! I have gotten weekly positive comments from neighbors, strangers, friends on the beautiful landscape design which enhances my home. Issac wantland truly cared and acted as if he was designing my project for himself! He was detailed oriented, cared about my taste in colors and worked successfully in choosing landscape plants, trees, that would be hearty and fit in with a nashville, tennessee environment. Issac had and has the skills necessary to work well with other people: myself, the client and in my case , a team of professionals including an architect and interior designer. In closing, i greatly respect issac wantland personally and professionally. It was a joy and pleasure to have him be my landscape architect. I get weekly comments from neighbors, strangers, friends on the beautiful landscape design which enhances my home. Issac wantland truly acted as if he was designing this project for himself; in others words, he cared greatly about every detail and was totally interested in any input i had as to color of plants, and finding the right plants for the environment here in nashville, tennessee. I was given i have tremendous respect for him personally and professionally. Issac is a great team player: he worked in total cooperation with my interior designer and home architect showing great flexibility, insight,to being a major factor in the creation of my dream home renovation.

  - Description: The architect for this custom home, taking cues from the owners' formal aesthetic, suggested an interior courtyard. Working with that concept, we recommended a higher wall with "windows" and developed the idea of a European-style motorcourt with cobblestone curbing and a canopy of trees to order the parking. We ordered the interior courtyard by using a structure of box hedges combined with perennial plantings. The louvered courtyard gate serves as the "front door" to the home. It was crafted to…

In addition to adding an inviting brick stoop in front, a screened porch was added. Large boxwoods were utilized in key locations to lend an air of history to the property. The simple, elegant treatment of new masonry walls, wood fences, gates, brick landings and stone walkways lend sophistication and a sense of history to a property that was completely re-worked fro…
