When you read what they did, you'll understand why. We have a small kitchen (140 sq. ft.) There were 2 big problems: A) the floor was 2 inches lower in the middle and needed to be leveled; B) the recessed pantry was so dark we needed a flashlight to see what was in it, and next to it was the fridge which jutted out into the room. So, Don and Jeremy ripped up the floor, replaced worn joists and laid a new, level subfloor. Essentially, they rebuilt that section of the house. Then thanks to their creativity and problem-solving skills and their designer, Marcy, they restructured the pantry recess to accommodate the fridge and designed custom wall-to-ceiling cabinets where the fridge had been. Problems solved! > They installed beautiful Yorktowne cabinets, undercounter lighting, recessed lighting in the ceiling, and all the appliances. Fortunately, we had contracted with Bruce at Sycamore Kitchens so we felt reassured and protected when our projected 2-3 week project turned into almost 3 months. We looked hard at another contractor before deciding to go with Sycamore. Sycamore provided complete detailed pricing (materials and labor) and design suggestions, which was thorough and transparent- something the other company would not provide. Because we knew where every dollar was going, we were able to make educated choices about all aspects of our kitchen design, and we didn’t have to settle for cheaper or ‘acceptable’- we got exactly what we wanted for the price quoted. Bruce and his crew were efficient, careful, and clean, with lots of attention to the little details that only we would notice. We got high quality semi-custom cabinets, beautiful quartz countertops, some reconfigured lighting, a new sink and faucet, and new flooring (some items included in their pricing, and some we purchased ourselves but installed by Sycamore’s excellent crew of workers). Bruce was flexible when work restrictions went into effect, which meant a lot to us as our eagerness to finish the project kicked into high gear after being without a finished kitchen for so long.
