### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Dan Troxel, March 2014**

> Steve's one of a kind lighting fixtures have been an asset and compliment my lighting design. His extremely creative, well built post cap lights enhance the attractiveness of my railings. He is easy to work with and has always fulfilled custom design work when needed.

**★★★★★ — janettegaddie, Nov. 2013**

> Moonlight Decks is awesome. Steve came out and met with me a few times to plan installation of post cap lights for my deck addition. They came out great, and exactly matched the fortress iron spindles I had ordered. He made recommendations to add a remote feature to operate the lights which work well and look beautiful. Without these lights, it would be nearly impossible and dangerous to walk up the deck stairs at night. Honest, responsible, quality work.

> I visited their website in search of some cool accents for my deck. I choose their toppers for the 4 X 4s that surround the deck. I am very happy with them, except one has a problem with lighting up in the evening after about a year. Either a battery problem or a light gathering issue. But they look great in the day and have been impervious to weather. Thanks.

**Comment from Moonlight Decks LLC:**

> I think these were the solar lights that I used to make. I have a few parts left over. I can get you a new solar panel if needed.

> He took care to keep everything organized and looking good. He ran wires NEATLY thru our garage. He helped make our backyard beautiful. I enjoyed working with him.

> I purchased deck lighting from moonlight decks llc. I know exactly what i wanted and was so delighted when i found them on the internet. They were so easy to work with and make my lights and shipped them in a very timely manner. Actually ordereing the lights from moonlight was the easiest part of a very costly project that involved adding an outdoor kitchen, fireplace and patio. Love my lights and from the lake they glow just like moonlight. \\pam franzman

> I ordered deck lights from Moonlight Deck LLC. The project lasted two days, with me doing carpentry work and I hired electrical contractor to install them. Lights operate two times a day, morning and evening for six years and I have never replaced one bulb. I like the brass finish on the fixtures. It was quite a project - look at pictures.

**Comment from Moonlight Decks LLC:**

> Thanks for the pictures Karl! Sounds like the deck lights are performing very well!

**★★★★★ — juliescriven, Oct. 2013**

> I needed some caps on my stucco posts. Moonlights decks were very helpful with my decisions. My product came in a timely manner as we're all of my email questions.

**★★★★★ — Matt Wilde, Oct. 2013**

> Bought this product online and it showed up on time and way better than I ever thought it would be.
>
> I would recommend these lights to anyone designing a new deck. The finish on the product was amazing.
>
> The lights are three years in the field now and still look like brand new.

**★★★★ — jtvandyke, Oct. 2013**

> We were looking for railing caps that could also serve as lighting for a large deck. Our lake house is in rural Oregon, where power rates are high and the weather wet and severe. There are lots of cheaper versions available, but none with the quality and impact of the ones we ordered from Moonlight decks. They do look stunning.
>
> The lights were nicely made were easy to install. We went with the rustic finish, which was a good call. This version definitely says "Home Depot NOT", which complimented the uniqueness of our lake house. There were no imperfections upon arrival.
>
> Although I really like the lights, I awarded four out of five stars. The light volume is not high, so the lights are mostly for visual impact and railing cap protection. Like I said, the weather wet and cold in the Oregon Coast range and the solar panels are weathering poorly and I will likely have to replace them someday. I did not penalize Moonlight decks for the solar panels because of the extreme weather.
>
> I really like the railing caps and strongly recommend them for anyone wishing to make a quality statement for their property.

**Comment from Moonlight Decks LLC:**

> While we have discontinued the solar version of our lights, we do have a few solar panels left over if you need to change out the old ones. Call me anytime to discuss it.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Who s the manufacturer of the BBQ light? What is the model \#?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Focus is the brand/mfgr. BQFO8 is the number.

**Q: Exterior Help!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need help deciding on colors/look for exterior of home with a brown roof. We are open to painting the brick, definitely replacing the yellow sophets and fascia and getting new windows. There are too many decisions with windows--should I do lines/panes or no lines, lines just on top, how many lines, etc?? Do I match window color with the trim/fascia if we do a tan for that? I just plain need help! The brick is very odd (lots of white and terracotta/orange) so I am thinking we will need to paint it. I am also considering (in the future) to replace the iron rails on the steps to wood and paint to match... Please help--I cant visualize what it will look like and what colors go with the brown roof!

A: I like all of these ideas. But don't forget to add some landscape lighting. Even something as minimal as 2 uplights on each side (one on each corner and one on each trellis) and possibly a couple of path lights near the steps would look fantastic at night with the new additions. No solar lights. Go with quality.

**Q: Deck** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi there, can you please tell me what the wood is that has been used for this deck?

A: That deck would look fantastic at night with some awesome deck lights on it!

**Q: How you deck so fly?** *(in Photo Questions)*

**Q: love this deck and house!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the house color and the brown hand rails, whats the name of each color please, we have just built a big deck that and need to paint our house and hand rails!

A: That deck looks really good! If you ever need to add deck lighting to your projects, look me up. I make the best lighted post caps.

**Q: You didn't build this deck.** *(in Photo Questions)*

You really should portray others work as yours

A: Well whoever built it did a great job. They just need to add some deck lighting to it to show it off at night!
