Drapery Affair began in 1964 as a family-owned drapery manufacturer serving Ventura County. We quickly began to serve our community and make friends with our customers.

As our county has grown since those early days, so have we. We began to do more than draperies and expanded into Floor and Window Coverings. As the product and services we offered grew, the Drapery Affair name had to grow as well, as we offered much more than drapes.

Today, we are truly Floor to Ceiling Interiors. We are a General Contractor whose design showroom now provides custom draperies, floor coverings, window coverings, closet & garage organizers, upholstery, wall coverings, custom bedding and pillows, and much more; truly Floor to Ceiling Interiors.

We are proud to have been serving Ventura County all these years and look forward to the opportunity to meet you and help make your house your home.

> Best customer service and window covering options in Ventura. We looked high and low for curtain options for 2 story floor to ceiling windows. They have a wide variety of options with a knowledgeable designer that works with you and your budget. Even the installer was exceptional. He wanted to make sure the rod was substantial enough to handle the weight of the curtains to last for years to come and would not settle until it was just right. The outcome was gorgeous and is definitely the highlight of our home. We couldn't be more happier with the results. This a professional company with high quality results. I highly recommend them.

> Drapery Affair helped us with our family room and kitchen window treatments. Their team of designers and installers are knowledgeable, helpful, conscientious and pay attention to details. It was a pleasure working with them and we are very happy with our results.

> I have worked with Kevin on many projects which have included new construction and remodels. He is extremely knowledgable about the products that Drapery Affair sells, especially the flooring materials. Kevin is respectful, considerate, compromising, punctual and able to meet deadlines, and he does all of these things with a smile on his face! I look forward to working with Kevin on interior design projects in the future.

> I went there to get flooring for my motorhome. Some people claim they have experience in doing RV's but you can read right through them. My salesperson Kevin owns an RV, had his RV flooring done by his company, and they even do warranty claims for local RV dealers in the area. From the first visit, I felt very comfortable with the advice Kevin gave me. Once the work started, I watched the project closely. Their installer, Jess, is a top notch guy very detail oriented. The install took a little longer than anticipated. However, I was very happy with the results. Price was fair as nothing is for free. You want quality work, you get what you pay for. I usually do this as DIY. However, I was very happy they didit for me.

> As an interior designer I can honestly say that working with Drapery Affair has been a treat. The communication has been wonderful, the finished product perfect and the friendly owner and staff made my job so easy.

> As an Interior Designer with my own company I am very critical of who I hire to service my clients, but I was more than satisfied with the quality and service I received from Drapery Affair. They are one of the only drapery workrooms left in Ventura county so you can rest assured that you will get hands on custom service locally and with over 38 yrs in the business there is not anything they cannot do! Not only do they make draperies but have now become Floor to Ceiling Interiors, designing and servicing every part of the home. Every kind of flooring you can imagine, kitchen and bath remodel , cabinetry and counter tops to name just a few of the many of the quality services they provide.

## Community Q&A

**Q: How to match old floor** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi everyone! I have this old floor I'd like to try to match in the adjoining room, any suggestions for what type of wood to get, and what to do to it to get as close a match as possible? Thanks!

A: I would recommend what sooz001 said which is to purchase unfinished flooring and stain both rooms to be the same color and finish. The floor is most likely birch or maple.

Otherwise, you are better off to purchase a different color and/or species of wood so it does not appear that you tried to match the floor and didn't quite do it.

The last option is where the new floor and existing floor touch, remove some of the existing floor and weave in the new floor to the existing so it is not a straight line of different flooring. This does require to you have the same thickness of floor and width.

Best of luck on your wood floors!

**Q: Unfinished to unparalleled living room!** *(in Before & After)*

These clients were desperate to finish their new living room (and dining room) - they had purchased some great furniture but just didn't know how to pull it all together. This illustrates how it doesn't take much to turn an ordinary space into a show stopper. We added an original black and white abstract painting (on Etsy) above the mantle, an area rug, coffee table, and some new lighting/shades. An original painting of Bill Evans above the piano was the final touch.

A: Beautiful space!

**Q: Need help with chair color and rug** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need to get rid of this old beige sofa I was thinking of getting a chair and ottoman for the space where the sofa is (second picture ) stuck on color to go with the gray sofa and accent chair I just got . Also any suggestions on area rug color or pattern
Thanks

A: You can have any carpet made into an Area Rug and have it done to your exact size and shape. You can choose a style that has neutral, gray, or black tones in it and tie the room together once your furniture is finalized. You can also do something more colorful and fun.

**Q: Cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Who did the cabinet/kitchen design?

A: This designer is no longer with us, but she can reached at her company, Home For The Soul. Her phone number is (805) 798.0843.
