She is definitely flexible and incorporated some family-friendly design aspects that work for our kids into home's spaces! She has a modular approach where our first meeting was big items to source and think though then our next few meetings were around finishing out the spaces with accent pieces and artwork. Janel is not afraid to voice her opinion on items that she thought made the room less cozy, or felt too cheap for the space. But she also found ways to incorporate many of our current stuff into the new design - the house didn't feel foreign at all - we did buy about 2 dozen new pieces and accents, but we also just rearranged a bunch of stuff and made it work better for the space. Janel has her favorite sources for procuring items, but was not pushy about them and helped me find things that worked in our budget range. I would totally work with Janel again on a new project and would recommend her to anyone just trying to freshen up a space or do a complete overhaul - she can do it all! **★★★★★ — Erin W, July 2018** > Where to start about my family's experience working with Janel. She is just incredibly talented! In our project, she really listened to our needs as a family with growing kids who didn't want to totally play it safe (but sometimes needed to). She was able to take our sorta cookie-cutter interiors and turn them into something that reflected us in a home that we now never want to leave. Janel sourced from a variety of places to help us achieve the look we wanted (and stay in budget). She had ideas for spaces that felt fresh and unique, and she was so organized and communicative through the whole process. Not a ball dropped, not a corner unturned. Finally, Janel is just such a good, warm-hearted person (my kids love her)! In her work, this translated into a sort of voodoo sense of when to lead and when to let the client make decisions, when to take a breather and when to push forward. Over the course of a long project, I think this is an invaluable skill and it meant I trusted her implicitly and learned to trust my own instincts as well.
