Bryce listened to our goals and then gave us many ideas about how to achieve them. He is extremely pleasant to work with, full of ideas but not dictatorial. He designed complex cabinetry and shelves. He is very creative and had many ideas that we would never have thought of. One example: he figured out how to create spaces for a large etching and a heavy sculpture that we wanted to display. Another example: he suggested making a window seat under a bay window. A third example: he suggested drawers and cabinets under some of the shelves. He has very good taste and gives careful consideration to making all the details consistent with the existing woodwork. The end result is quite beautiful and really does look like a place for reading and thinking. > > Bryce tries hard to work with what you have, rather than demanding that you discard all your current furniture and start anew. He is happy to suggest improvements in furniture arrangement even for rooms he is not working in. > > Bryce is meticulous. He inspects the work carefully and asks us do the same. When I hired Bryce, the framing of my home had just been completed. During his initial walk-thru, Bryce identified a dozen design changes, from increasing door heights, to creating arched entrances, to re-designing fireplace enclosures, to changing outside decks to terraces, that made our home uniquely appealing, at modest increases in cost. One example: The original design contemplated a covered deck off of our second story family room. Bryce changed the deck to a terrace, added a two-way fireplace between the terrace and the family room. We have an exterior living space with outdoor draperies that our family and friends love. Bryce is creative, but practical, and possesses a deep understanding of construction. In all it runs around $15,000 plus shipping. It has a long lead time as wood must be kiln dried then acclimated when one does a cross cut like this. A linear cut up the tree is more affordable and can be found as live edge dining tables. A: Hello So sorry I just now fund out about the Question part of Houzz, I am not sure why I never get notified.. On the Humidor I just had the cabinet maker use all cedar lining and then purchased a humidor filter online that needs filling with purified water about once a month.
