Their attention to detail and innovative ideas made this an amazing design and one in which we enjoy every day. They have continued to work with us to further beautify our yard. > I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a beautiful and tasteful look and a professional and courteous process. **★★★★★ — naveen ballem, June 2021** > Review is being edited and removed as the problems are being addressed. thank you to tranquility pools and the team **Comment from Scenic Landscaping:** > Of course we are very disappointed to read your comments and we feel this is not a fair or accurate history of what happened. You would not want untrue or inaccurate information stated about you, so I am sure you can understand why we need to set the record straight. First, your pool was built by Tranquility Pools, not Scenic Landscaping. > Your pool was constructed 5 years ago. We said from the beginning that we do not recommend or warranty using glass tile in the pool because without proper care it can easily become damaged over the winter months when the pool water level rises and freezes at the tile line. > > For a few years we had replaced only a few tiles that had fallen off whenever you contacted us until around year three when you had a more significant amount of tiles coming off in the pool after the winter. We have confirmed with your pool maintenance company that you did not hire them to provide winter services which are absolutely necessary for a glass tiled pool. We had warned you this might happen from the beginning, but you insisted we replace your failing glass tile anyway after our warranty period had ended. > > As a stand up company, we agreed to replace all of your tile and also completely replastered your pool at no cost to you. Once again, you insisted we use a glass tile against our recommendation and you involved your friend from the glass tile distributor to provide all materials, specifications for installation, and also inspections throughout the installation. All this was done and approved by you and your tile consultant. > > Recently, you contacted us again with the same issue of glass tiles coming off in the pool. Again, we confirmed with your pool services company that you did not use them for any winter services to ensure the glass tile would not be damaged by the freeze/thaw from high water levels in the pool. We continued to do our best to work with you and provided you with an extremely reasonable proposal to replace all the glass tile with a porcelain tile. It was under $10,000, not $25,000 as you stated. > > We have text and email correspondence with you that confirms all that we are stating. > > For years, we have done our best to work through the issue with you at our expense. Unfortunately, you refused to listen to the professionals and their recommendations initially and although you recently were willing to change from glass tile to porcelain tile , it could not be at our expense again. > > Sincerely, > > Tranquility Pools **★★★★★ — Ray Ayerbe, Oct. 2017** > I met Brian Parks who helped educate and guide me through the entire process of creating a new outdoor lifestyle. It began with their sister company, Tapestry Landscape Architecture, who had an understanding of my goals and created this master plan that made it easy for me to visualize the end game. When it came to building the job, I was very comfortable with Scenic’s team overall. They were true professionals and able to execute the job in a timely manner. **★★★★★ — JK interior living, Dec. 2016** > Working with Rick Zimmer has been a pleasure from the beginning. Midway through our backyard and terrace renovation, we couldn't be happier with the progress. Rick's attention to detail as well as ability to collaborate has made this process enjoyable. They understand high standard, and appreciate the fundamental relationship between business and client. Highly recommend. **★★★★★ — Denise Schmit, Sept. 2016** > Mitch Knapp, Rick Zimmer and everyone at Scenic Landscaping put the most beautiful finishing touches to our new home. Mitch has an exhilarating enthusiasm toward landscape design and his love and knowledge about every tree and shrub is evident. Mitch was willing to phase the work to accommodate our budget and met our timelines. We highly recommend Scenic Landscaping. **★★★★ — morrissa19, Sept. 2016** > Scenic has done a great job with our landscaping project. The project was large and complex due to a heavily sloped area, but the outcome was great! The design was excellent as was the pool (done by Tapestry and Tranquility--related businesses). We have done many large projects over the years, from remodeling homes to landscaping yards, and I would rate Scenic as being one of the best companies we have hired to work with. The owner is great and very knowledgeable. The actual landscape workers / foreman are excellent. The only reason I gave them 4 stars rather than 5 was because I felt that there could have been better communication / follow up on the part of the Project Manager. Sometimes we were left in the dark on delays, etc. when it would have been very easy to explain what the issue was; the sequencing of activities was also something that could have been a bit better. In the end, the project came out on budget and beautiful with few issues, so that why we would highly recommend Scenic. The workmanship and design are great. It is essential to remain on top of things, though, and if you have an issue, to contact the owner who is prompt in helping out. Having a job PM assigned who you can talk with openly and on a regular basis is essential. As far as maintenance following the job completion, Jared and his crew have been excellent! **★★★★★ — bills58, May 2016** > The entire process and project was a pleasure in dealing with Scenic. Their construction/installation crews were polite, respectful and professional. Making sure everything was perfect, clean and met our expectations. Their plant material size, color and overall health was so much superior to other contractors i received proposal from and saw examples of their work. The end result of our project not only met all our expectation but well exceeded them. I would 100% recommend Scenic for anyones landscape/hardscape project needs and would and will use them again. **★★★★★ — Ava Polansky, Dec. 2015** > This the best landscaping company I have ever hired. Very responsible, honest, knowledgable, and friendly. Communication is not a problem here. All deals and bills are transparent. The crew is very polite. Ideas gorgeous and impressive! > > They are very talented. Their designs are the best. > > I love this firm. Proud that they are working for me and my family. **★★★★★ — mehammer, Nov. 2015** > I have used Scenic Landscape several times and would highly recommend them for any type of landscape job. They have outstanding designers who are extremely creative and knowledgable of both plants and trees. > The work crews they send out for the job are both courteous and professional. > I trust Scenic to have my best interest when planning and creating for me. **★★★★★ — matteitner9, Oct. 2015** > I hired Scenic Landscaping in late summer of 2013. The project including a total rework of my backyard including a 70,000 gallon pool. I was a huge undertaking. They started in October and as promised, was swimming by Labor Day. **★★★★★ — msrosen, Sept. 2015** > This was a very professional experience ; starting with an interview , a conceptual drawing and a meeting before finalized plans and plant selection was determined. Good ideas, a variation on what could be included and cost for extras and upgrades or reductions. We felt very much a part of the process and a determination of the look we wanted to create. New ideas were provided that opened up large sections of our yard while still preserving the privacy. It was a pleasure working with the Scenic team and they went the extra distance when needed. I recommend the highly. **★★★★★ — dsas, June 2015** > We had scenic do the hardscaping and landscaping around our property. All of the people from the company worked in an extremely professional manner. They were timely, responsive, friendly, and really a pleasure to work with. You pay for quality and they deliver high quality. The design team provides beautiful designs and the workmanship is carried out to highest standards. ## Selected projects - [Contemporary Outdoor Living - Gray Tones](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-outdoor-living-gray-tones-pj-vj~5470511) - Location: Westfield, NJ - Photos: 11 - [Tropical Outdoor Living](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/tropical-outdoor-living-pj-vj~1829437) - Location: Short Hills, NJ - Photos: 12 - Description: A tropical oasis hidden right in New Jersey - custom swimming pool and spa with floating stepping stones, a fire and water feature wall, multiple levels of patio seating areas, outdoor kitchen and bar area all fit into a compact space. - [Bright Outdoor Living Backyard](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bright-outdoor-living-backyard-pj-vj~1957881) - Location: Bernardsville, NJ - Photos: 15 - Description: This beautiful expansive backyard has everything from multiple patio levels, a custom fire pit, a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and bar area, and a beautiful bright and vibrant landscape plantings throughout. - [A Colorful Poolside Entertainment Property](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/a-colorful-poolside-entertainment-property-pj-vj~2020890) - Location: Wyckoff, NJ - Photos: 13 - Description: Colorful vibrant property, with everything from a custom swimming pool design, water feature, cabana, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, lounge seating, garden spaces and ample patio space.
