Shalamar is not very skilled at his craft. I hired shalamar to renovate my bathroom in July 2021. Replace toilet, replace vanity, replace countertop and sink, and install a walk-in shower. It took a little longer than expected to complete but i thought i would eventually get some of the cosmetic issues fixed later. On Aug 05 I reached out to him to let him know that the sink was leaking. and then on Aug 09 I reached out to him to let him know the shower was leaking into my closet. He came to repair on aug 09 but it didn't help. the shower continued to leak but i didn't notice until September. In September the vanity separated from the countertop/sink. and i reached out to him again. but now he has not responded to any of my attempts to get this repaired **★ — HU-719629989, Feb. 2024** > I am still waiting for him to renovate my bathroom where he suggested that I use tile instead of a shower insert. And now the shower leaks into the closet area and tile was not properly installed. And the vanity is tilting. He went missing and is avoiding my calls. He started the project in July **★ — HU-466964086, June 2021** > I can't speak about other peoples experience but will only speak to mine. Back in mid-May we contacted Shalamar Solutions to provide a quote on a bathroom remodeling. After providing a timely quote we paid him over $1,500 to cover 50% of labor costs and 100% of material costs on May 18. We did not hear back from him till June 7 when he informed us that he was out of contact since his mom had a medical emergency and his phone was dropped in a bath tub which caused him to lose all his business contacts. We went back and forth on text and finally spoke on the phone and informed him that we would just rather have the funds returned to us and we will look elsewhere. He stated while disappointed that he would refund us our money. But we received nothing. Around mid-June he ran into other issues that he said prevented him from refunding us our money. We kept reaching out asking for an update but just got delays. We even suggested that we can set up an agreed upon re-payment schedule as a way to make it easier. He thought that would be ideal and would work on a payment schedule. Last week (week of June 21) he stated he would get back to us by the end of the week. This was our last communication with him. I reached out on Saturday June 26 and yesterday June 28 but have not heard back. Again this is my experience only but wanted to post this. **★ — Sierra Shell, March 2021** > We took Shalamar to small claims court and were awarded $300 for services not rendered/unacceptable work. Shalamar's work was incorrect, unsightly, and potentially dangerous. He was chronically late, unprofessional, and most importantly, he took money from us he did not earn when we dismissed him from the job. He left gaping holes in our drywall. He chose not to follow the simple instructions for how to install our flooring which were included in the box, instead trying to accomplish the job in a way explicitly stated by the instructions as wrong. He was 6 hours late the first day ("family emergency"), and 2-3 hours late the second. He said the job would take 2-3 days, and by day 5, he wasn't halfway done. The quality of his work was so bad that we had to redo it ourselves, as has been the case for MULTIPLE other reviewers. He owes other women (all women, hmmm) money well over $1000 for projects not completed and for those completed poorly, according to my communications with them. How do I know about this? I have been so angered by dealing with Shalamar I have contacted other unsatisfied reviewers to hear their story. > > Indeed, why would someone who has so many examples of his good work feel the need to write HIMSELF TWO good reviews, clumsily disguised as someone else (See pictures of review signed "Daniel S." but with the name "Shalamar L." at the top, to indicate it was posted by his own profile; secondarily, see photo of the review he gave himself for the sit-down tub he installed. His NAME is at the top!). Don't believe the good reviews.
