We live in an 1840's home and they came in and took the middle part of our house out and totally renovated it. They gutted an existing kitchen/pantry, and an upstairs bedroom. Upstairs they pushed out the walls in the front and the back of the house. They added onto both existing bathrooms, added a laundry room, nice size bedroom and a very well insulated attic. Downstairs they built a new pantry and built an unbelievable kitchen. They did everything from installing wide pine floors (with square head nails), tile floors, all the cabinets; kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms, built a great walk in shower, had the insulation blown in... The owner of Liberty Homes, Ian Moore, was incredibly honest and forthright about everything, every step of the way. Working on an older home definitely has it's challenges and Ian handled each one with great knowledge, professionalism and ALWAYS found a solution. (just so you know some of the 2 x 4's in our walls were actually trees that had been cut - bark still on them) so you can imagine some of the challenges behind each wall!! He employs 2 workers who are also very knowledgeable and very hard workers. They were in our house for 4 months so it was very important to have workers who were friendly and trustworthy. They were very personable and always waited for my opinion about something. For example, there was an issue in my town with the length of the hood over the cook top. Tom worked with me and spent hours cutting down the existing range until he got to something that would pass approval and something that I would like. Ian also has wonderful people who do the plumbing, electricity, plasterers... All of them spoke very highly of Ian and said they enjoyed working with him because he is a perfectionist, thorough, and honest. I have had many workers in my home and I have never been as pleased as I was with Liberty Homes. From start to finish he showed that he cared about my home, like he probably cares about his own home. It was very important to him to know that were happy every step of the way. My husband and I actually miss having them around! They came in and renovated and recreated the first floor of my house, the kitchen, dinning and living room. I thought I was confined to the existing floor plan and it wasn't until I met with Ian Moore that I found out much more could be done. I had a chimney running up through the middle of my house and thought I had to work around that. Liberty Homes came in, removed the chimney, and put up engineered beams to support the weight of the house. When I saw the condition of the chimney I was extremely grateful that we went in that direction, as the chimney was so badly deteriorated that it was a fire hazard I would have never noticed. That opened the floor plan and allowed me to put an island in the kitchen which I use every night. This paticular one is done by an artist Andy Fleishman. The grout releases the pattern and you can make it blend or stand out as much as you want. Be sure to use epoxy grout and seal the tile a million times. **Q: What tile did you use in this shower? It's gorgeous!** *(in Photo Questions)* I'm doing my own bathroom remodel and would love to know. A: I do not have the brand name unfortunately but is was a small hexagon glass tile and the sheets were pretty thin which needed to be accounted for on install. Also the window has white stone jambs which made for a very clean look. **Q: LOVE the red cabinets, what is the name of the color?** *(in Photo Questions)* Amazing use of red, we'd love to have them in our cabin kitchen A: I had to do a little digging but was able to find the color which is Cardinal with an onyx glaze.
