**★★★★★ — Betsy Lawler, Jan. 2020**

> By the time we called Harding Design and Construction, we were at the end of our rope. This was a serious a case of ‘love it or list it’. 2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 big ol’ dog in a very compartmentalized 1947 home was not working for us anymore. We knew we probably could not make changes to the size of our modest home, but we were convinced we could improve the flow.
>
> When it came to interviewing contractors, I was excited but still a bit gun shy because I had heard endless horror stories about dishonest contractors, sky high costs and ½ finished remodels. However, we knew very early on that Harding Design and Construction would be different. Throughout the bid process they demonstrated professionalism, consistency and open communication. We took Wes’ actions early on to be a sign of things to come and after meeting with 2 other contractors we signed on with Wes. I would not say our remodel was a walk in the park; of course, we ran into the inevitable problems that surface when you open the walls of an old home (and remain living in the home throughout the process). Yet Wes, Mary and Aaron were with us every step of the way. I would be remiss if I did not touch on each of them for one moment:
> •Wes is methodical and professional. He never came to us with a problem he did not already have a solution for.
> •Aaron is one of the most meticulous workers I have ever met. He has an eagle eye for imperfections and the skill to fix them.
> •Mary’s communication, design sense and ability to keep the project exciting (even when if starts to feel long) made me feel at ease and in control.
>
> By the time, the project was complete, what had started out as a kitchen/living/dining remodel turned into a whole house makeover! There is not a room that was not touched. I will tell you with conviction I could not be more pleased with the outcome. The functionality of our home has improved by 200%. Our house now fits our needs and family perfectly. Thanks to Harding Design and Construction, I can confidently say we will be here for decades to come!

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you so very much for your positive review. You and your family were a pleasure to work for. It feels great to know that we were able to deliver on the vision you had for your home. I really like how the open floor plan, custom banquette table, and large pocket door turned out. I am still in disbelief we had to replace the gas lines because the previous "contractor" used plastic. I wish you and your family all the best.

> We recently completed our third project with Harding on our home near El Dorado Park in Long Beach, and we’re getting ready to start the fourth. Each time it's been a great experience. First they redid our garage — new lighting, insulation, drywall, swapped an old water heater for a tankless one, plus a new garage door and fencing. A while later we had them do our primary bedroom: New windows and doors, turned our closet into a functional walk-in, new flooring, paint, the works. Most recently it was two windows and a sliding door in the living room, and they came and knocked it out without any fuss.
>
> Wes and Kyle are both really detailed and focused, and their subcontractors have always been great to work with too. They've been responsive and respectful on every single project. We highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — Honni Gales, Sept. 2026**

> Our 1914 home is in the Historic Willmore District in Long Beach, so preserving its original character was really important to us. Harding remodeled our kitchen and bathroom, and refreshed the rest of the house with new paint and flooring. Their design process helped us work through the layout and finishes before construction, and they were careful with the original details throughout the remodel.
>
> We love the white shaker cabinets, green marble backsplash, refinished brick chimney, black-and-white hex tile, and the cat wallpaper in the bathroom. The house feels updated without losing what makes it special. We highly recommend Harding Design & Construction and will definitely be using them again on future projects!

**★★★★★ — Jen Carr, Sept. 2026**

> We hired Harding for our ADU project after deciding to convert our old 1950s garage at our Long Beach home into a studio apartment.
>
> Wes handled the building plans, Brittney helped us with the interior design and finishes, and Kyle kept the project moving and made sure we were always informed throughout the process. In addition to converting the garage into an ADU, Harding added a new patio across the entire back of the house and built a laundry room addition that serves both the main house and the ADU.
>
> As often happens when renovating older homes, we encountered an unexpected issue when construction revealed that the existing garage foundation was not adequate and needed to be completely replaced. Obviously, replacing the foundation was not something we wanted to discover, but fixing it was necessary, and we appreciated that the Harding team clearly explained the issue and handled it properly rather than cutting corners.
>
> We love the finished ADU and all of the improvements they made to our home. The team was knowledgeable, communicative, and professional throughout the project, and we always felt like things were being handled. We would absolutely hire Harding again and would recommend them to anyone considering a major renovation or ADU project.

**★★★★★ — Steve White, Sept. 2026**

> We hired Harding in 2023 to design and build a Spanish-style ADU behind our 1920’s home. We tore down our old garage because we needed work-from-home office space, a guest house for visiting family, and an indoor-outdoor bonus room.
>
> It needed to match the character of our home, but also reflect our style and the way we live. The ADU has vaulted ceilings, Spanish inlay tile, polished concrete floors, custom storage, and new awnings. Big triple sliders and a bi-fold window open it to the outdoors.
>
> Their team and subcontractors were helpful and respectful throughout the design and construction. While any project like this can cost more or take longer than you initially hope, once we had a budget nailed down Wes's team was able to stick close to it and we discussed any changes. Where one subcontractor billed extra unexpectedly, he covered the overage on labor between him and the sub.
>
> I'm a picky client and did some of the design work and finish work myself, but Harding's style allows for that if you want it. I've recommended Harding to others since, and would consider him for other projects again myself.

**★★★★★ — Omar G, Aug. 2026**

> I hired Harding Design & Construction to remodel my 1920 home in Belmont Shore. I bought the house in 2005 and was only the second owner, so keeping its original charm was really important to me. Wes helped open up the small rooms, rework the kitchen and bathroom, and create a second bathroom without losing the original windows and moldings.
>
> Now the house is light, bright, and much more functional, with the primary ensuite I always wanted. It still feels true to its 1920s character and California beach-house style. Kyle was a great project manager, the subcontractors were respectful, and I’m thrilled with my new “old” home. Highly recommend you give them a call.

**★★★★★ — A C, Aug. 2026**

> After a tenant left my Long Beach home badly damaged, I hired Harding Design & Construction to bring it back. I ended up needing whole-house repairs and upgrades: demo, framing, electrical, flooring, painting, crawlspace protection, plus a long list of surprise damage along the way.
>
> Walking into my property in that condition was overwhelming, and what I appreciated most was that they treated it as one coordinated project instead of a pile of disconnected jobs. The crew sequenced everything sensibly, showed up when they said they would, and kept the site clean between phases.
>
> Every tradesperson they sent was skilled, respectful, and easy to communicate with. The quality has held up as expected, no callbacks, no redos, and the house honestly came out better than it was before the damage. If you need a team that can take a house from rough shape to fully restored and handle every trade in between, I recommend them without hesitation.

**★★★★★ — Abis Akolawala, Aug. 2026**

> We remodeled our primary bathroom in our historic home in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach.
>
> I did not expect how many decisions there would be — we chose everything, literally floor to ceiling. Having Yota, the interior designer, made a real difference. She helped us settle the tile, vanity, fixtures, lighting, and finishes before construction started, so we weren't choosing under pressure.
>
> After demo they found water damage in the subfloor and framing below the shower. Kyle, the project manager, showed me what was going on and why it had to be fixed before anything else moved. It added a few extra days of work, but they got it done quickly and kept us on schedule.
>
> I love my new bathroom. It has all the modern conveniences I've been missing for years — I can actually use my hair dryer without tripping the breaker. Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference.
>
> If you want the complete picture before you start building, I highly recommend you contact Harding Design & Construction.

**★★★★★ — ikelberry7, Aug. 2026**

> We hired Harding Design & Construction to remodel the historic ADU behind our 1922 Spanish-style home in Belmont Heights, Long Beach. We wanted to make the space more functional without losing the character that made it special, and the team did a great job balancing both.
>
> The project included a new kitchen, bathroom, updated living spaces, new finishes, and major structural repairs after termite damage and foundation issues were uncovered. The construction team kept the project moving and communicated with us throughout the build, while the design team helped make sure the layout and finishes felt appropriate for the age and style of our backyard home. We really appreciated how clearly they explained the work, walked us through our options, and kept us informed about the costs along the way.
>
> The finished ADU feels completely updated but still belongs with the original home. It now gives us a comfortable, functional space for family and guests, and we’re very happy we chose to preserve and improve it rather than tear it down and start over. We would absolutely recommend Harding Design & Construction for a historic remodel or ADU project.

**★★★★★ — Kristi Fischer, Aug. 2024**

> Wes and his team of employees and subs have been wonderful to work with! They helped design and build a complete remodel of our 1985 kitchen, two large primary bathrooms, home office/den, stairs and railings, and much more. When a few things went not quite as planned (they always do!) Wes stepped up and fixed it – no “if’s, and’s or but’s.” Wes is well established in Long Beach (i.e. no concerns about being a fly by night type) and has an excellent word of mouth reputation, which is one of the reasons we chose him. He is like the conductor of an orchestra, bringing together the various subs in harmony. He seems to enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting. You know you have a good contractor when his subs tell you that he is great to work for and pays on time.

**★★★★★ — Tammy Meyer, Dec. 2023**

> Harding Design and Construction did a wonderful job on our ADU bathroom and bedroom addition. Highly recommend!! Everyone who works for them is a master in their craft. They provided quality service, work, and design suggestions. They had to lift a wall into place by crane because we are so close to our neighbor! Thank you, Wes for going above and beyond and exceeding our expectations.

**★★★★★ — Kyle Lacey, Nov. 2023**

> After moving into my new home, I knew it needed a lot of help but had no idea how to get there. I've been working with Harding Design and Construction for about 6 months now as we go through the plans and permitting process with the city. Although this has been extremely confusing on my end HDC makes this stage of the project very easy going and takes all the pressure off me. Wes has been great about listening to what I was looking for, as well as, working within the budget parameters I had in mind. He's been extremely organized, very responsive, and most importantly, fantastic at helping me narrow down choices. Would absolutely recommend.

**★★★★★ — Satisfied Owner Lb, Dec. 2022**

> You cannot go wrong with Wes and his team! We built a new ADU in our backyard after tearing down an old 1920’s garage. They did a spectacular job envisioning and communicating the project as a whole and easily broke it down to every little detail in between that you wouldn’t even think of. Each contractor and sub-contractor that worked on our project was respectful of our property, friendly, detail-oriented, and left high quality results. There were some challenges during the design and construction due to the city requirments, which is expected given the scope of the project. However, the team handled these challenges very effectively and professionally and the met all of our expectations! There is no doubt that I will hire Harding Design & Construction again, thanks again guys!

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you for the review "Satisfied", I love it. You guys were a pleasure to work for!

**★★★★★ — Vanessa Durant, Dec. 2022**

> We've just started working with Wes and his team with Harding Design and Construction and we are extremely happy with their services. My husband and I are in the process of remodeling our first home together and we were very overwhelmed with the overall process and didn’t know where to start. Ever since Wes has jumped in, things have been going very smoothly, we feel more confident with our home building process and have loved all of the suggestions thus far. We cannot wait to update this review with the final product!

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you so much for the positive review Vanessa! I can't wait to see our ideas come to life, it will be awesome!

**★★★★★ — DT, Sept. 2021**

> Harding Construction did a room/kitchen add-on and complete kitchen remodel for us in Huntington Beach. We added on about 200 sq ft to our kitchen and did a complete gut job down to the studs. They are a design/build firm, so it was one-stop shop from the design/planning stage all the way through permits and execution. Highly recommend this process. Communication was good and Wes is a nice, honest person. He is trustworthy and we did not have any major problems during the remodel, other than it took a bit longer than we expected. But, the Covid shut down happened in the middle of our project, so I’m sure some/most (but maybe not all) of the delay was due to that. It’s been a year since our project was completed and as more time passes we are even more happy with the result. Very high-quality, good design, and we are very happy with the final project. There were minor things here and there, but like I said earlier, no major problems…. and that’s saying a lot given the scope of the project and the horror stories we hear from friends and neighbors. Overall we are very satisfied with the final project and would recommend Harding Construction.

**★★★★★ — Ryan Taylor, Oct. 2019**

> We decided to build an accessory dwelling unit for my mom so she could be closer to our kids and no longer had the burden of taking care of her home. My mom’s house was just too big and hard for her to maintain and we were not visiting with her as often as we would have liked. We also really needed someone we could trust at home with my kids until we came home from work. So we built a new ADU in my backyard from scratch, we sold my mom’s house, and she moved in with us. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made for our family.
>
> We wanted to work with a design build company to help keep track of costs along the way and make sure our ideas would match our budget. Going into it we knew our project would be complicated since it’s located in a historic district of Long Beach. We decided to hire Harding Design and Construction because Wes and his team really understood the ins-and-outs of ADUs, got back to us quickly anytime we phoned, emailed, or texted, and it was easy to see they understood our needs and goals.
>
> Harding Design and Construction provided a solid product at a reasonable price and handled all the design, permits, and construction seamlessly. Our interior designer Christy was amazing to work with. She listened to us and integrated all of our design ideas and concerns, while guiding us along. She is detailed oriented and methodical and got us every inch of storage my mom needed while freeing up space for her to work. Wes and Christy worked together to find the best design that fit our budget and our style. The renderings, construction drawings, and interior design were a tremendous help in visualizing the final product. I was really impressed with the quality, accuracy, and level of detail. They included everything from the flooring to the paint and all the little things we probably would have missed until after construction started.
>
> Mary, Arron, John, and Wes stayed in contact with us during construction. They checked in with us regularly and updated us on any progress, schedule, or changes as needed, which was not the experience I had with my last contractor who had just remodeled our bathroom.
>
> Some of the most important factors to us was the cleanliness and the scheduling and organization of the day to day construction. The daily trades and subcontractors were all amazing people, respectful, and friendly, it’s easy to see they maintain strong relationships with their workforce. With two young children and a dog in our house they were conscientious of keeping the job site clean and secure and our home usable since we were living there.
>
> We couldn't be happier with the overall experience and the final product speaks for itself; quality materials, professional service, and good people that looked out for our best interest. Harding Design and construction will most certainly be our first call since we plan on a room addition next.
>
> Thank you so much!!!

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Ryan,
>
> Thank you for the kind words and letting me know how much of an improvement we made in your family's life. You and your wife were a pleasure to work for. If anything ever needs a minor adjustment on your ADU please let me know. I look forward to helping you with your next project!

> I needed a better use of the space in my home and a room addition for my growing family. We were having a new baby and we decided to turn our master bedroom into a new baby room and add-on a new master bedroom with en-suite. We were very impressed with Harding Design & Construction. The planning/design stage was very easy and it was a pleasure working with Wes and his designers who guided me through the entire process giving me their honest opinion on what the options were, what would look good and where I could save on cost if I wanted to. When the work started the Project Manager was Arron who was also very nice to deal with - letting us know how things are progressing, pointing out any issues if he saw any and how we could deal with them(we didn't really have any big issues thankfully!) and making time & himself available to talk to us about any concerns we had. For most of the project we had Paul doing the actual work and he was great - he seemed to be a real perfectionist and I was very impressed with this work, as well as how tidy he kept everything. The folks that did the Tiling also did a fantastic job! We got the master bath room we have always wanted and it looks great! And I have to mention that the follow up by Wes was also fantastic - its great when someone check ins with you and asks if everything is OK,whether we were happy! My fame can finally stretch out and we have plenty of room for our new baby.

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Hi Bill,
>
> You made my day with your positive review! We put a lot of time and effort into the details on your project, it's nice to know they don't go unrecognized. I'm thrilled to know we exceeded your expectations. I wish the very best for you and your family.

> Wes and his team from Harding Construction did a large addition and remodel to my home, and I couldn't be happier! Wes started by creating a few different design plans which took some things into consideration (like light!) which I had not considered. The project included the addition of two new bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, construction of a new garage and conversion of the existing garage to living space, expanding the front entry, installation of a tankless water heater, full insulation of both new and existing structure, installation of hardwood floors throughout, plus all of the finish carpentry and miscellaneous doo-dads. At every point through the project, Wes kept our wishes at the forefront of the project, but also helped us to remain practical so that we would not regret our choices in the future.
>
> On a personal note: We lived in the house during almost the entire construction process (Yikes, right?). You really come to know the company under those circumstances, and I would trust Harding Construction to do any work in my home, at any time. Paul (our main Harding workman) made sure to check on my 83 year old mother each morning and each evening; he truly became one of the family. You can't just buy that kind of caring.
>
> When I decide to do any future remodeling, I know I won't have to look for another company; I have already chosen Harding Construction.

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you for the wonderful review Robin!
>
> I am grateful to you, your sister, and your mom for being patient and obliging during the design and construction of your home. You were a pleasure to work for and it really means a lot to know you are happy with our work and customer service. Thank you for recognizing we go the extra mile. I will pass along your comments to Paul, I am sure he will be thrilled to know how big of an impression he made.

> This is our second time working with Harding Design and Construction. Wes is very responsive and keeps us in the loop of everything that is going on, and where they are at in the project. He always has good ideas how to make things aesthetic, energy efficient, and how to work within budget and with the existing code laws. He ties up all the loose ends well and his team of workers are always respectful of our home and privacy. We would definitely work with him again.

**★★★★★ — Tom Langan, Sept. 2018**

> Wes saved the day! I moved into my condo with an incomplete master bathroom due to my previous contractor putting me on the back burner for another job. It was very stressful to say the least. I was fortunate that someone referred me to Wes for a completely different issue and he was willing to pick up where my old contractor left off. Wes was very helpful with guiding me through the best way to complete the job within my budget. A special thanks to Mary for finding a great quartz top for my vanity and to Paul for doing such great work. Wes and his team were very professional and communicative from start to finish. I was very impressed. Highly recommend.

> Harding Design and Construction was recommended to our family from one of my coworkers. As an architect, I was particularly interested in Harding construction because of their experience with energy efficient HVAC solutions and home energy upgrades. They were very professional, willing to offer advice, sensitive to our budget, and honest about the best solution for our house even before we hired them to perform the work. We eventually hired them for abatement of our existing ducts that were wrapped with asbestos insulation, a complete installation of a brand new heating and cooling system, new ducting, new water heater, and new back door. We are extremely happy with our results and highly recommend them for anyone looking for home upgrades. Our home is now very comfortable to live in during the hot summer months. In addition to the new HVAC system, the craftsmanship of their work was exceptional. As a practicing architect, the quality of the installation met each and every one of my requirements. Lastly, Harding Construction is licensed, insured, fully bonded and provides a guarantee on their work. We would definitely hire Harding Construction for future work on our house.

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you for the nice comments Reed. I am pleased to know we met your expectations.

> We are extremely happy with the professional job Wes Harding did for us. We got three bathrooms floors tiled and wainscoting installed in one bath. It looks great and the painting is also. We loved how clean they left the project each day. Thanks so much for the great job. We highly recommend Harding Construction.

> We recently contracted Wes Harding Construction and Sustainable Solutions to remodel our original 1947 kitchen. Wes met with us to determine the scope of our project and soon after provided us with an estimate and a detailed contract outlining all the expectations. His original estimate of cost was accurate and he provided written invoices of completed work. As the project progressed, Wes was flexible with changes we made as well as extra work we added, making appropriate suggestions to meet our kitchen needs and budget. His crew members were efficient and detailed oriented. We appreciated that they kept the work area organized and as clean as possible in a construction site. We really liked the detailed written timeline that showed when projects would be started and completed. Needless to say, the project was finished on time and we are very happy with our new kitchen. We strongly recommend Wes Harding Construction.

> I got the rebate check yesterday from the Energy Network. I am very pleased with the amount, nearly double what you said is the usual projected amount. Unlike other places that saddle the client with preparing the application, you completed the application professionally.. Thanks for applying your knowledge and performing the job professionally.

> Love working with this group!! We have worked with Wes and his team on a few projects and are always impressed with the quality of the work and the people on his team. Over the years we have had foundation work done, siding repair, window and door replacements, and interior remodels. With every project, his team gives us 100% and does amazing work. They are thoughtful, experienced, and really care about doing the absolute best job.
>
> We recently completed a room addition, two bathroom remodels, and a kitchen remodel and it was the most wonderful experience! We worked with Rachel and Mary, who helped with overall design, and both were amazing. Rachel and Mary took the time to understand the vision, and patiently and skillfully helped us get it done. The end results are more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.
>
> Once the project started, the work progressed in a timely way and communication was excellent throughout. I work from home, so having people in the house constantly could have been stressful. We had to completely gut the home down to the studs and rebuild. So, it could have been very painful. It wasn't! Everyone who came into our home was pleasant, friendly, conscientious, and respectful. They did AMAZING work! All of them! You never got the sense anyone just wanted to do the work and get the job done -- they were always trying to figure out how to do it the BEST way, and make it even better.
>
> So very grateful to Wes and the entire team at Harding Construction! Because of them, the project moved smoothly, was stress-free, and we love the finished product! Thank you!!!

> Our furnace is running much less this winter than last because of the insulation Harding Construction put in our attic last August. Back then, we noticed a 10 degree drop in inside temperatures after the installation of that insulation. We are happy with our home energy upgrade. Wes was direct, accurate, and efficient in his recommendations and in his responses to all of our questions. His installers were similarly efficient, as well as personable. We also received our full eligible rebate from Home Upgrade Energy California for the work Wes's team did. Yes, we recommend Harding Construction, as we look forward to working together with them again ourselves.

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you for the review. It's great to hear your home is more comfortable and you were happy with our services. I look forward to working with you in the future.

> I recently had Wes and his team do an "Energy Upgrade" project for me. The process of going about understanding how the rebate program works and what amounts are available is extremely convoluted. Wes was fantastic in spelling out all of the variables and giving a conservative estimate that left a lot of upside. He handles all of the paperwork and submission as well. Throughout the process he was not only extremely knowledgeable but very consultative in helping me understand exactly what work needed to be done in order to achieve the desired outcome, and believe me, I had a lot of questions for which he had answers. Once he started the project, his crew was extremely timely, orderly in their work, and professional. The work was completed on time - as promised - and surpassed all of the metrics needed to receive the maximum rebates. I would highly recommend Wes and his team for any Energy Upgrade program project and really any type of construction upgrade for that matter.

**Comment from Harding Design & Construction:**

> Thank you so much for the wonderful comments Jason. I hope your home is much more comfortable. Best- Wes

> We hired Wes and his team for a kitchen remodel in our Naples, CA home. He won our bid because his pricing was logical and he answered our questions and explained solutions for items of concern. Throughout the project his team arrived on time, left the site broom swept at the end of each day, and were equally personable and willing to explain options when situations arose on site that were unique. We are detailed-oriented clients and I appreciated the team's patience with our critical eye. We lived on-site during the project. We are very happy with our new kitchen--the quality of work, the functionality, and aesthetics. Our project was completed on time and to budget.

> Wes renovated our guest bathroom and I am very glad we chose him as our contractor. He understood our needs, wasn’t pushy to get the job, and provided a thoroughly detailed written estimate – things that not all the contractors I talked to were able or willing to do. Wes, Jeff and Ricardo understood our vision and even worked with us to install a copper penny floor, which was the first time for all of us, and became the focal point of the bathroom! I wanted to find a contractor that also lives in Long Beach, to keep the money flow local, and I like his “green” sense of doing business. When you can come through a job like that and immediately think of what other projects a contractor can do around your house – you’ve found a good company. We made the right choice to work with Wes and I will vouch for him anytime.

I will continue to recommend Harding Construction for projects knowing the outcome will be good.

During our renovation there was never a day when progress wasn’t being made and if we ever needed anything or had questions he was there to communicate with us. > Wes Harding is more knowledgeable in his field than most of the people I've run across. I am very energy conscious and wanted to get the most results in home comfort for the least expenditure of energy. I wanted a whole house fan, and he also suggested tripling our attic insulation along with that. I cannot believe the difference this has made in our lives! What used to be a heat magnet in warm weather, now feels cooler than the outside when I walk in the door, and after running the fan for a little while I don't think about the heat anymore. It's a very natural way to cool down and use very little energy, while doing it.
> Wes makes sure that the work is done correctly. The people he hired, who did the bulk of the work in our home, were people I felt very comfortable having in my house. They understood exactly what was needed and endeared my trust early on. They also did everything they could to keep things clean.

> We recently purchased a 1910 Foursquare Arts and Crafts home in downtown Long Beach that had a lot of deferred maintenance and needed a ton of work. We wanted an eco-friendly, high efficiency home remodel, so we hired Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions for our roof, windows, window trim, paint, flooring, wall insulation, attic insulation, and two high efficiency heating and air conditioning systems. Wes was very knowledgeable and always helpful during the remodeling and rebate application process. We love how he raised the floor of our attic to accommodate plenty of insulation and plenty of storage. We were able to obtain rebates for work we had already planned on doing and we also were awarded a GreenPoint Rating Green Home Certificate for the improvements we made to our home. Our HERS rating shows that we are a very efficient home. Our home is now quiet and comfortable all year round, our power and gas bills are very low.

It including a master bedroom, master bath, covered balcony, walk-in closet, new flooring, and ducted mini-split heat pump heating / cooling system. Wes worked very hard to make my remodeling project a reality and helped me plan and make the right choices within my budget. While my home was under construction Wes and his crew were always attentive to my requests, returned my phone calls, text messages, and emails very quickly. They also retrofitted my 1940 home to be more energy efficient and comfortable. This included wall and attic insulation, a 96% efficient tankless water heater, duct sealing of the existing downstairs heating and cooling system, new windows, and reduced my home’s air building leakage even with the added square footage. I love how quiet the new heating and air conditioning system is when it's running. Even with 50% more square footage in my home I have seen improvement in my utility bills. With help from Wes, I was able to obtain rebates through the Energy Upgrade California Program and a Build It Green GreenPoint Elements label for my home.

> Having just bought a condo in Long Beach back in December 2011, I decided to do some remodeling. I came across Wes at Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions when I noticed his ad in the local Long Beach newspaper (Grunion Gazette) for energy efficient upgrades. Wes responded to my email with a phone call which I thought was a nice touch. After chatting for a bit, we setup a time to meet. Even though I have a small condo, it was really cool that Wes invested the time to walk me through some basic things I could do to help maximize my energy consumption. The end result of this first meeting didn't really translate to any major business for Wes; however, a few months later, I remembered him when I needed someone to help finish my back-splash. He quoted me a very fair price and one of his employee's, Jeff, was able to complete my back-splash in one day. Wes took the time to come over after the work was completed and made sure I was completely satisfied. I told him I already referred him to a few other people in my building that were looking to have work done. In this current economy, contractors are a dime a dozen. However, customer service and quality of work is not always easy to find.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the brand, series and color of the flooring in the kitchen?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looking for flooring to complement walnut cabinets.

A: Hi, this is a tile the shape and texture of wood. You’ll probably be able to find something similar if you take the image to a tile store. Sorry, I don’t recall the brand.

**Q: Hi, What is the color of the tile back splash? Thanks** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: That is Daltile Festiva Willow \#QF42

**Q: Where can I buy the silo rainwater cistern?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where can I buy the silo?

A: This was made from corrugated steel custom for this project. Please look at other photos to see the construction process. There may be online vendors that sell these but I haven't seen one where the plumbing comes up through the base like this one. Good luck with your project.

**Q: What brand of Subway Tile is used in this project?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the brand and line of tile used in this project. We are eager to have this look in our remodeled bathroom shower.

A: Dal Tile may be not be making this any more so I would look into Bedrosians Tile

**Q: Sealing the base of the cistern** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm curious how the base of the galvanized culvert was sealed to the concrete pad to be watertight with several feel of water pressure? Great project. I wish we could send California some rain from Oklahoma right now.

A: I sealed this using Red Guard waterproofing.

**Q: May I ask where you source this PVC collector? Thank you!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: http://www.tank-depot.com/tanks/rainwater.aspx
