> Master V did two bathrooms, a closet, fireplace facelift and more. Very professional and great work ethic. Val always listens to clients ideas and doesn’t try and to shove his opinions down anyone’s throats. He is honest and trustworthy. Great craftsmanship and absolutely no unnecessary up-sell.
> All that done and said, I love my home! Everything looks amazing! I’ll definitely recommend Master V to anyone I know.

> Scope of work: Complete remodeling of our small bathroom in the hallway, from tract-home quality to high-end.
>
> Val was recommended to us by the kitchen cabinet designer at Cabinets and Beyond in San Mateo.
> I initially talked to 4 contractors. One missed three on-site appointments (including a no-show); one refused to provide references and expressed annoyance at the small size of the project; and the third was a fast-talker who ducked our questions and never submitted an estimate.
>
> Val, by contrast, gave a timely and well thought-through itemized estimate. His price was in-line with the market. He answered our questions, and provided us with contacts of his previous clients when requested. I visited their homes, and was very impressed with the workmanship. His previous clients had nothing but great comments about his work. A man of few words, Val always has a good-natured smile on his face. I was a little concerned in the beginning about his English language ability and whether that would get in the way of communication. As it turned out, we did sometimes have to explain something a few different ways. But he never second-guessed us. And the less-than-the-fastest communication was more than made up for with the outcome of his work.
>
> We are so glad that we chose Val. He and his assistant always discussed and planned their process before they started. They did not rush. They are knowledgeable and detail-oriented. They returned calls, answered questions, alerted us to possible problems, and worked cooperatively with us on scheduling. Val gave advice on what is his expertise – the construction and price consequence of each aesthetic alternative we were considering.
>
> What we appreciated the most was the pleasant experience of a sense of smooth collaboration when working with Val and his assistant. They are even tempered, and never once expressed condescension or annoyance towards us. Then when the work was done...Wow! What superb workmanship!
> The tile work was beautifully done, with just the right amount of grout, and tile edges that align harmoniously with the furniture and fixtures. Painting was executed with care and precision. The pocket door hangs perfectly. Val had to drill a hole in a marble sink for the faucet, a challenging task with some risk to the marble which he completed perfectly.
>
> We are looking forward to hiring Val again for our larger remodeling project – our kitchen.

> Master V is high level professional! He fully remodeled my house 5 years ago and it still looks like brand new house. His work have been done on-time and accurate finished with a little extra work for free, which was a big pleasant surprise for me! My guests and me are also very impressed by his design vision. I have recommended him to my friends and got great feedback of his work.

**★★★★★ — nadres, Feb. 2015**

> Valeriy did a great job. He worked on two projects for me. He installed my kitchen cabinets and created a custom closet for me. He is very responsive and delivers as promised. His workmanship and design ideas are great

**★★★★★ — davidgranahan, Feb. 2015**

> Val did a remodel of our kitchen. He knew exactly what he was doing. When a wall we opened up wasn't strong enough due to original construction not being adequate he improvised a brace that looked good and did the job. This was at no extra cost. In fact he was always there when he said he would be and project was done on time and within original budget. We were impressed by his honesty and integrity. He will be doing our bathroom and laundry room in 2015. He was the opposite of the contractors we heard about in horror stories of remodels we heard about from friends.

**★★★★★ — benks02, Feb. 2015**

> Master-V performed an outstanding job remodeling my bathrooms. The project included walls demolition, new plumbing, electrical work, all new appliances and addition of a bathtub.
> The contractor was solid technically, diligent, used latest and most appropriate materials to have right balance between time of the project and money invested. There was no scope creep and extra money requested. Everything was built based on the original estimates and agreements. Specially, I liked how they freed-up my time with city inspectors. All city inspections were done at one shot and without any issues. Master-V built trust with the city inspectors and the second bathroom inspection was done in less steps.
> I strongly recommend Master-V for your projects. In fact, I am planning to continue with them for other rooms remodeling.

**★★★★★ — Jennifer Rosdail, Feb. 2015**

> Valeria is a wonderful person to work with. He does high quality work for a reasonable price. He is on time, respectful of the rest of the home environment (he worked only on our bathroom), and so is the rest of his team. As a residential realtor in San Francisco, I have and will continue to highly recommend him to my clients as well as work with him myself.

**★★★★★ — helentimen, Jan. 2015**

> Master-V company performed bathroom remodeling in our house. we were impressed with professionalism, attitude and their ability to meet deadlines and budget.
> If we need any work to be performed in our house, now we know the company we can trust.
> Thank you very much for being such a great company to have business with!

**★★★★★ — izellad, Jan. 2015**

> I needed a lot of varied remodeling done. The quality of workmanship, excellent communication, responsiveness and timeliness were exemplary. They built a bathroom from scratch, updated kitchen, office, and electricity, and countless of other smaller projects. Val managed all the permits. I was impressed with how he passed each inspection smoothly. Everything was completed to my satisfaction. Val and his team were extremely easy to work with.

**★★★★★ — ynakhbo, Jan. 2015**

> I am a kitchen designer and in my 13 years of experience I rarely had a pleasure to work with somebody as professional as Val. He is a great person with a very good attitude and excellent attention to details. Every time i recommended him, my clients were happy and he comes back to their homes for additional work, which is always a very good sign.
>
> Highest recommendation for kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects, carpentry works, etc.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Is this piece too large for my wall?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm trying to balance out my TV on a huge white wall. The unframed archway provides some extra wall "padding" but I'm struggling with proper dimensions.
Here is an estimate of the piece I'm currently looking at:
(Note: The hanging height is not exact here. I would probably bump it up a little higher.)

The piece is a perfect tie-in to another painting I have on the cornering wall and would line up to another large piece on the diagonal wall.
I've read it is typically better to have something too big than too small. But is this TOO big? Would smaller pieces above the TV help balance it?
I plan to put a floor vase/basket next to the TV stand to fill the lower gap between the TV stand and (missing) wall vent.

A: maybe like this? ?!!

**Q: Creating a look with backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My
kitchen remodel is nearing completion. Yay!! But I am struggling
with the back splash. I wanted the wood cabinets to suggest the look of
a piece of furniture, hence the feet, the granite and the different
color on the backsplash. I couldn't find tile I liked and I was finally
sick of looking at it so I painted. My thought was to have green tile
behind the range and an off white on the rest of the wall, then use a
terra cotta colored grout.
But now looking at the two painted colors,
it looks awkward. Will the tile also have that awkward look, or will
the grout color provide enough continuity? A friend suggested I put a
wood post on the edge where the two paint colors meet to help with the
furniture look and create a break between the two colors. Any other
advice is welcomed.

A: 1\. what about range hood ??? ...microwave fan???

**Q: How should we finish the fireplace?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

How would you finish this fireplace? Cultured stone, barn wood, tile, paint, mantle, no mantle? It's in our basement. The opening on the left is to a games room with a 40" barn door and rail system going in. Holding off on picking stain for the door until I figure out the fireplace wall. It faces our tv/media room. Television is going on the wall to the left of the barn door so no tv above the fireplace. Looking forward to some suggestions. Thank you :)

A: 1\. No mantel.
2\. Paint or next:
3\. Ceramic tile (aprx 12" × 36" in horizontally) and maybe add some chrome straps between tiles maybe each 24".
4\. Wood! wood plank, 3,5 "- 5,5"wide, maybe hardwood floor pre finish plank.
