> John, owner of Improvement Pros, and his team recently finished a kitchen remodel for us.  Although we kept the same layout, the cabinets, counters, kitchen sink, and backsplash were all replaced. His team also added crown molding and trim on the soffit to help it blend in with the cabinets.  John is very good about keeping in touch throughout the project, so we usually knew what to expect day-to-day. The project did run longer than expected, but that was because one of his employees took a job overseas and quit without advanced notice.  If that wouldn’t have happened, the job would have been finished as expected.  To make up for that delay, John worked on a Saturday and gave us a small discount on the overall price.  He also strived to make sure that my husband and I were both satisfied with the end results.  Not happy about a tile? He’ll fix it. Cabinet doors look just a little off to you? He’ll straighten them. At the end of a project, he asks for honest feedback because he wants to keep improving his business.  Since this was the third time he successfully completed a project in our house, we knew we’d be pleased with the results of this project as well. He did not disappoint and we love our new kitchen.

We remodeled our kitchen and updated the flooring on the first floor, so it was a large scale project. They worked well to coordinate this with our designer, and were available to talk when we needed to make decisions and know how they would affect our budget. John worked to keep us within our budget and was honest about items that could put us over. They also did a really nice job updating our fireplace and working with our glass and steel backsplash tiles.

**Q: what color stain did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looks beautiful! What color/brand stain?

A: this is redwood lumber with an water based clear weather proofing Behr.

**Q: What do I do?? Builder put this wood piece at the bottom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

A: you can cover with finished one by prime and paint it, or sand prime and paint.

**Q: Is this 8 foot foyer door too tall?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Opposite my front door is a closet that has 8 foot 3 panel doors. To the left is the entrance way to the living room. We put up an 8' door (with 3 glass panels) to be consistent with the height and style of the closet. There are no other doorways nearby, ( just windows which you can see in the picture) however, seeing it now it appears to be too big for the room which has around an 8'6" ceiling. Once the molding is added, it'll be a little more than an inch from the ceiling. Others that have seen it don't think its so bad and think it just looks grand. I just think it looks too big for the space. Is it better to change it standard height which is where the old molding ends in the picture and then it wont be consistent with the closet which is nearby, or should i leave it as is? It opens into the living room towards the windows so you will see the door in the living room.(the picure shows it opening into the foyer but it will be changed.)

A: Why not take the door out completley and just finish it in as an opening.

What type of material use for this deck and what is the cost?

A: stained pressure treated decking,  cedar trim, pressure treated plywood ceiling covering. deck 15,000, deck/porch cover 10,000.
