I hope that helps! **Q: Is the fire mantelpiece pre-made? If so, where is it from?** *(in Photo Questions)* We are trying to emulate this concept into our living area. Some have said shiplap doesn't belong in the living area. I disagree. Can you also tell me what color grey that is? A: This mantel was actually here when we moved here 15 years ago so I don't know the origin, sorry! But I added the wood cutout you see in the middle from Lowe's to add a little character. I painted it the same white as the fireplace and brick. :) **Q: need some ideas** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi Guys! I need your help decorating and giving me ideas on how to make the inside of my house pretty and presentable. ideas for curtain colors, paint, everything.. I'm open to all suggestions..Many thanks!! have a good one. A: Hi, just a few thoughts . . . I would find a slim profile chest (Home Goods, maybe) to add some weight under the TV to help hide the cords and give you storage. I would get one that is wider than the length of the TV as well. A nice gray-blue paint color, baseboards, gray & white striped panels hung high (almost to ceiling height), a round wood coffee table to soften the room, an area rug to anchor your seating area, and painted built-ins in white for a crisp pop. Maybe a shade above the built-ins to help control the sunlight and a couple of white pillows on the sofa to brighten the area. Check Kirklands or Home Goods for some vertical, architectural wall hanging to add interest behind the sofa. I hope this helps a bit. I think the shades need to be replaced with a different color, but otherwise are they ok? A: Hi, I love your console table. The lamps are nice but you will spend more trying to find the right lamp shade to fit. I would return them so that you get a set that works without having to change them. How about ceramic gourd shaped lamps? They would be curvy and would look more substantial on a table that length. I would remove all the other accessories - too much going on. I would pick up a large dough bowl or shallow glass bowl (Pier 1 or Home Goods) and fill it with decorative rattan balls or some other material (Target or Home Goods has a good selection) and place it in the center. That would be a classic, clean look. More is less. Then you may want to add 3 or 5 items to the bottom that relate to eachother. Try varying the height and scale. Stand back and look again and adjust. Good luck!
