**★★★★★ — Rachel Howell, April 2021**

> Caryn is very professional and also very knowledgeable. She really listened to all my needs and concerns regarding my remodeling project, and helped me make beautiful and creative design choices. She helped me make sense of my vision and I could not be more pleased with her services!

**Comment from Passé/Present Interiors:**

> Thank you Rachel! I'm looking forward to seeing your design come to life!

**★★★★★ — Kim Keller, Nov. 2019**

> I strongly recommend Caryn to anyone who is looking for a major home refurbish (what we did) or something simpler like staging for a sale. She was more than accommodating, she listened to our needs and guided us through the process. We redid our kitchen, flooring throughout the house, paint throughout the house, light fixtures and furniture/draperies. Caryn helped us every step of the way and professionally navigated contractor challenges as they arose. When we couldn't be at the house to oversee certain stages of the process, Caryn would be there on our behalf. Her sense of style is versatile, and she helped us to stay current but bring our own personality to our new home's look. She provided exactly the service we were looking for.

**★★★★★ — Brenda Bellinoski- Finley, April 2019**

> Caryn did an awesome job helping me! She is professional and fun! She made it so easy for me to make my choices. I couldn’t have done it without her!

**Comment from Passé/Present Interiors:**

> Thank you for your kind words Brenda, but I can't take all the credit. You were amazing to work with and it was a lot of fun me as well! I'm so thrilled that you love your home and thank you for entrusting me to help make it happen.

**★★★★★ — Pam Allen, Aug. 2018**

> GREAT IDEAS, EASY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH AND WORK WITH, DEPENDABLE. WOULD DEFINITELY USE AGAIN!
> April 2018: She matched 12 year old slate to finish running through the kitchen & laundry room. Picked paint colors for the entire house, new upstairs carpet, removed kitchen wallpaper then painted all walls and cabinetry. She found and organized all contractors.
> June 2018: Remodeled 30 year old master bathroom with stand alone tub, trim-less shower glass, wall tile, shower tile, floor tile, paint and fixtures.

**★★★★★ — Nannette Levett-Prinsep, June 2018**

> I met Caryn in the fall of 2017 after my mother's home flooded due to Hurricane Harvey. Caryn helped pick out all the tile and stacked stone for my mother's renovation in 30 minutes!! I believe she is extremely talented and easy to work with. I recommended her to all my friends and family that live in the Houston and surrounding areas.

**★★★★★ — shhuynh13, May 2017**

> As a full-time executive with two small children, there was no time to furnish and decorate a new home. With the help of this company, they worked through my busy schedule and had patience for my demands. The desire for beauty, simplicity, and functionality was met within a reasonable price. I've used them from purchases of large furniture to matching silverware to plates; it is definitely worth it!

**★★★★★ — Terri Gibson, April 2017**

> Caryn has helped my real estate clients with staging and new home selections. She knows what she's doing! She is courteous and timely! I would never hesitate to hire her!

**★★★★★ — Mary Ann P, Nov. 2016**

> We are on the main floor of a condo building and had a flood due to a kitchen sink backup... on Christmas Day! We hired Caryn to help us with new flooring selections. We originally had vinyl flooring. The reno was covered by insurance; but, any upgrades and we pay the difference. We decided to go with upgrades. Caryn helped with tile selection, color, placement, grout color.......everything done by email! Thank you, Caryn!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Poor installation of Penny Tile in Bathroom?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any thoughts on this penny tile installation? I am not happy with it but the GC says it is correctly installed and he will not cover the cost of a redo.

A: I would never accept that from a contractor! You’ll never get over it and it will always be an issue. I definitely advise to have them fix it and you can use the flaws you found with leveling and spacing, and provide photos of what it is suppose to look like to make your case. Take it up the chain if you have to, but definitely make sure this gets addressed. I’m so sorry this happened!

**Q: Help with rug choice** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need a rug for under this table but am having trouble finding something that doesn’t clash too horribly with the wall covering. Thanks for any suggestions!

A: Super cute dinning room, love the wallpaper! I see that you have gold tone chargers on the table and gold light fixture, i would carry that accent color in the rug with a solid gold/champagne rug. Navy and gold work beautifully together. Also consider a center piece on the table.

**Q: need backsplash idea please** *(in Design Dilemma)*

White cabinets with white fusion quartz and stainless steel appliances. Does this look goo and balanced to not white wash the kitchen??

A: I think a stainless steel backsplash would look great with grout color the same as upper cabs. Not too white or dark.

**Q: what do you think?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Looks for tips for wall decor. What do you all think so far?

A: I get what your trying to do, but you’ve got your asymmetry wrong. Center the table and remove the items on the floor. Ok, now move the art to the right to align with the right side of the table and fill the space on the left with a taller plant feature. Standing in front should still look symmetrical, but the decor isn’t. Make sense?

**Q: kitchen design - am i thinking outside the norm here ?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Looking for honest opinions on the colours ive chosen for a new kitchen.

Its an aran cucina - with a navy blue island.
The quartz is msi statuary classique - is this common?

Im looking for a non traditional look and would love some honest opinions on my look so far.

Thanks!

A: tedbixby- your right! Most of my clients want what they see on tv, and presenting a creative design is getting more and more difficult. I would love a client like tania811 who wants an out of the box design. However...

tania811- your current selections aren’t really that out of the box as far as what a lot of people are wanting or doing. The suggestions in my previous post were based on what you’ve currently selected. If you really want out of box, start over and nix the blue island, marble-look counter and backsplash. That being said, don’t spend your money on a space just to be different! Spend it on what you like, how you want it to feel and function, and most importantly what makes you happy. You can give any design, no matter how “on trend” something is, your own touch. If your doing this for resale, then you’re $ is better spent doing an “as seen on tv” design.

**Q: Help! Paint suggestions. New Hardwood floors, neutral color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi
Oak floors with many tones. Ordered a white couch. Off white paint??

A: My fav off white paint color is SW Natural Choice. Very versatile with warm or cool colors and still shows enough contrast against white trim. You can see it in one of my designs I have posted called “Contemporary Living Room”.
