The staff at Pocket House provide excellent customer service and quality workmanship. We had been working with Jody and Brandy for over 2 years to build our dream home. Throughout the whole process - from initial design, ordering of custom finishings, completion and to transporting the park model to our site - top notch! I loved working with a family business who really care about their customers - and Jody's sons provided excellent finishing and exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this company highly! **★ — Karen Golby, Sept. 2022** > In July 2020 my husband and I made the biggest mistake of our lives to date. We put our trust and money into Jody Dyrland and Pocket House and contracted them to build our modular dream house. Fast forward to September 2022 and we have paid all the monies owing but are left with a massive “disappointment house” with more than 10 deficiencies that remain un-resolved. To save time I will mention a few of the bigger issues: When the house was delivered, Jody had to admit that the deck that we asked for was 2 feet shorter than the drawing, the reason given was the furnace pipe was too close to the main entrance of the house, the result of this change was now when it rains or snows, the front door is drenched with water and snow. At no point was this issue discussed with us. Another issue was that the electrical panel was installed incorrectly and neither Jody or his employees had the skills to ensure that the BC Electrical codes was followed so we were forced to purchase a 3 thousand dollar external disconnect panel as an additional expense. We also had PH install solar panels, but once the house was delivered my husband had to fix one of the panels that was not working and then noticed that the junction box for the panels was not sealed properly, the box was full of water which could have led to a fire or worse – someone being electrocuted. Another issue with the deck being too small is that the air exchanger filter cannot be replaced due to the proximity of the furnace exhaust pipe. Jody promised us in May 2022 that he would personally come by and deal with the furnace issue and show us how to replace the filters. He lied to us month after month after month that he would deal with the furnace and finally we had to hire a lawyer. PH lawyer said they would respond to our issues by September 1, 2022 – well folks it is now the middle of September with zero communication from either PH or his council Synder and Associates. Some people may be unaware of legal procedure in this case is goes like this – we now must find 2-3 contractors in the area to provide quotes to complete the deficiencies list and then turn around and try to sue PH for the amount that we have had to payout to said contractors. We would have held back monies to ensure our deficiencies list was addressed and not paid the final amount owing had we known we would later be screwed by Jody Dyrland and PH. I must mention that when PH did come and repair some of the deficiencies including the bathroom floor (after it was determined the in-floor heading was not working. PH managed to damage our house even more by chipping the shower tile sill and damaging the fir trim with numerous nail holes and then tried to cover it up with wood putty. In closing, we only wish that Pocket House would complete the deficiencies to our home so we can enjoy the home after a very large investment and emotional turmoil. **★★★★★ — HU-405260326, Jan. 2022** > Part 1. Weve just completed the preplanning stage with Pocket House/owner Jody and his super hero sidekick Brandy. Were going into contract now, so I though it was an ideal time to review as much as I can possibly with so many stellar experiences over the past month's beyond-the-pale ride. > > If youre looking for a new dimension in RTM build, unwavering trust that youll reap results beyond anything you could possible dream of... look no further than Pocket House/Onoway and its star studded crew. > > We approached them after 8-10 RTM builder (some brutal) interactions. Our first call with Jody was so uplifting, integrity poured through the phone lines, everything "right" clicked in place immediately. Weve built two other houses before, and now in our 60s looking to downsize. Downsize doesnt mean downGRADE with Pocket House. Our new house to-be will be so much more higher end that either of our two previous custom built houses. Their prices are "POCKET-friendly" considering the quality & quantity of upgrades that come with their standard build specs; believe me after sussing out some 8-10 builder prospects we know when our hard earned money is being put to great use. > > We had two main needs, one was windows.
