Factotum literally translates to: do (fac) everything (totum), and in the 16th century became a synonym for a John-do-it-all, or better know today, as "Jack of all trades."  Today, this word describes me -- Whether fixing a sink, changing a lightbulb, or building a deck, I can do almost everything and there's no job that's too small. 
      I grew up in a home that my father built with his own two hands. When I was 11, my mother and father, together, built their barn/studio. That summer was the beginning of my building career, and even though I was't paid much in money, I absolutely loved it, and learned a little bit of everything.  At age 15, I got a job with a friend of the family toting lumber and learning the trade. 
    I went to college for biochemistry and tried my hand successfully as an electrician and restaurant owner, but have always come back to my first love - construction.  Now with more than twenty years in the business I've learned residential, commercial, electrical, finish work and beyond. 
     I'm blessed that I absolutely love waking up and going to work. When someone invites me to do work on their property, I know not only do I bring my knowledge, skills, and tools, but I bring an understanding that this house is your home. This is the place where memories are made, your children are raised, and this is the place they bring their children.  
     I am prompt, professional, and will treat your home like it was my own because with 22 years of experience, and a daughter of my own, I understand the difference between a house and a home, and I am humbled you would have me help with yours.

> In one word..."Integrity." Integrity of work and character. I hired Ben from seeing his ad on Houzz to project manage a long list of repairs and renovations. I had already seen 4 other contractors and was not impressed with any of them, or if I was impressed the price was outrageous.  I was looking for a "Property Brothers" situation; someone that could help manage it all for me and with me. He did exactly that. He worked closely with me and my choices. He listened, asked important questions, offered great advise, and is an excellent communicator (believe me that is hard to find). Each day he sent me a detailed outline of all work done and itemized every cost. It helped me keep great records and helped me track my budget. He is a perfectionist and has a high standard of workmanship. He always calls or texts to let you know when he will be there, if he is delayed etc... and he always shows up. He hired subcontractors and often had hired help who were always the most respectful and professional. I never heard a fowl word from anyone the whole time they were working. He is very experienced and did so many different things, there really isn't much of any repair or project he can't do and he always knows who can if he can't. This was an overall excellent experience and I highly recommend him to everyone.
