> I have worked with Antonio for 2 years and it was great to work with him. A wide range of projects and budgets. His team is professional, fun and achieve amazing results. Most important, he gets to know the client and the space. He listens and adapts to their needs making the process fun, exciting and adventurous. Antonio gives residential and commercial projects character, uniqness, playfulness and creates history. There is a story behind every project that is achieved with bespoke and unique items selected from all over the world. All of his projects are little treasures that are customized to the clients' needs. Most important, no project is the same. He keeps suprising us all with his talent and creativity.

> Antonio Martins combines his talent for mixing eastern and western influences into his work and the result is a fabulous blend of fabrics, textures and colors that makes him completely unique. I have personally known Antonio for over 30 years when his career started in 5 star luxury hotels and his eye for detail and taste is second to none.

> I can say, without hesitation, that Antonio Martins is one of the most talented interior designers out there.
> I have seen his work in several private residences and restaurants and I am always amazed by the creativity, “out-of-box” approach and elegance of his work. His recent restaurants in Lisbon have been featured extensively in the local and international press.
> I have also worked with him in my own apartment and Antonio was always ready with interesting furniture / textiles and creative architectural solutions.
> I would not hesitate to recommend Antonio to any potential Client. Working with him is always a pleasure and he transforms this potentially stressful exercise in a great experience.

> We just recently completed renovation with Antonio Martins Interior Design. It is beyond anything we imagined. We now never want to leave our home. Antonio really listened to what we wanted yet put his own creative spin on a few ideas. Antonio's sense of scale, color and design is perfection. He gave us options and brought unique pieces to us that we could never find on our own. I highly recommended Antonio Martins Interior Design and can't wait for the next project!

> Antonio is so talented and creative and has so much experience. From lighting to color to texture to spatial composition--he is amazing! He was very patient working with us (I have a hard time making decisions!), educating us with why different aspects made sense. Although we weren't his only clients, he made us feel like we were--he was on time to appointments, working with our schedules (even on weekends), and we always knew he had been working hard for us between appointments, bringing us lots of samples and ideas.

> It was a wonderful experience. Don't hesitate to contact him! He's the best!

> What team: professional, talented, and great people. I cannot speak highly enough about Antonio Martins Interior and his staff. I have worked with Antonio in two different projects. Their taste is impeccable! They are kind and patient and helped me to hone in on my own style and aesthetic. They worked with me to create a truly beautiful home that is both highly functional for my family and absolutely gorgeous.

> We hired Antonio and his team for all the interior design services associated with a major renovation of our Country home in Minas Gerais. It is a traditional farm house designed following the 18th century designs of colonial plantations but was in desperately need of renovation. They were awesome! They were able to understand the original architecture, our taste, our budget and the way we live in it and from there update it to be modern and practical. They are an extremely talented and creative interior design firm. They truly understand every detail of design and worked with us to achieve our vision for the home. They listen and then execute on the plan and see the job through to completion. Very easy to work with and very, very talented. We recommend them highly.

  - Description: I was very honored to have been chosen to design the living room of the 2016 San Francisco showcase house….a superb residence located on Telegraph Hill with dazzling views of our two famous bridges, Alcatraz and the San Francisco bay. For the living room, I wanted a departure from the traditional design in 2013 and the more eclectic approach in 2014. For 2016, I wanted to create a very contemporary setting with cutting edge art. The point of departure for the living room was the renovation and e…

  - Description: A Portuguese Bilros bed that has been in my family since the 18th century inspired this master bedroom that was designed for the 2014 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. It is believed that a family member, when traveling to the Portuguese colonies, commissioned the bed in Goa. Made of Pau Santo rosewood, it was designed according to strict guidelines of the period. I wanted to blend my heritage with modern touches, so I added some Portuguese azulejos (blue and white tiles), expanded from the trad…

  - Description: One of our existing clients purchased an award winning residence designed by Zack/De Vito Architecture in the Noe Valley district of San Francisco. As we had worked on his previous residence, we knew his taste, style and overall requirements. The brief was simple: create cutting edge décor (with a bit of whimsy) that could stand up to the architecture while incorporating a few pieces from his present house. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Bedding** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am in love with this one piece bedding! It is so beautiful. Would you be willing to share who who made the applique or trim?

A: Good morning
the bedspread was made by Patricia Andrade - p.andrade0187@sbcglobal.net.
It is a blue velvet and the pattern on top was cut out from a standard fabric that is now discontinued.
Good luck with your project.

**Q: is that bed an antique? if not who makes it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would like to know who makes that bed if it’s not an antique. Thanks!

A: Hi Erin

The bed is antique... 18th Century Portuguese.

I don't know of anyone who makes them.. in any case, I would always suggest buying an original antique, and if necessary, have it restored / modified to the mattress size you want. You will have an antique piece and cheaper than having a copy made or trying to find someone who makes them. I have made the exercise and an antique was less expensive than having another one made with good / noble woods.

I have imported several Bilros bed in the past 6 years.

Let me know if you need any help sourcing an antique bed.

**Q: what is the door colour please** *(in Photo Questions)*

love it

A: thank you for the question. the color you see is not a flat color but a process that consist of bleaching, a initial color, second color and 3 layers of different glazing. was a custom process for this specific project. good luck with your project.

**Q: Love the kitchen cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you please tell me the name and maker of these cabnets? where can I order it?

A: sure, you can look at my website.

we do all cabinets custom.

**Q: Were these cabinets inset or full overlay?** *(in Photo Questions)*

These cabinets are gorgeous. They look inset but this pix makes me think they are full overlay. Which is it.

A: The cabinets are full overlay.
Regards
Antonio

**Q: Can you tell me what kind of paneling those are on the wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I’m looking for beadboard but love the thicker panel walls... where can I find this?

A: Good morning
The paneling was original to the house. But i believe you can find similar at any good wood supplier.
Good luck with your project.
