My partner and I decided to build our dream house together. The only thing that we absolutely knew before we began the process was that we wanted something modern and "green". An architect friend of mine suggested that we contact TaC Studios. We had never worked with an architect before so we had no idea what to expect. From our first meeting we knew that we had made the right decision. Cara and Jose provided us with practical but gentle guidance throughout the whole process. They took our wish list and turned it into a house that continues to exceed our expectations. At every step they made us think about that way we live our lives and how our house could be designed to make our lives easier. They asked us to picture ourselves in the space and imagine what it would be like to actually live in it. The result is a home that is not only beautiful but practical. "Practical" is not a particularly sexy word in the world of architecture but when it comes to home design it is essential to creating a space that meets the everyday needs that everyone takes for granted. From the amount of natural light that illuminates the space to the location of the dishwasher in relation to the cabinets, Cara and Jose thought of everything. We could not be happier with the results. The process did have its aggravating moments but Cara and Jose were there with us throughout the process. We absolutely could not have gotten through it without them. I actually think they should add "construction therapy" to their resume!
