WOW I was blown away by the detailed layout they sent me and I do admit I was a little skeptical it would actually get installed that way...Well they proved me wrong and blew me away with the finished installation! We ordered the farm sink cabinet from our cabinet company and understand that we will need to build supports in the cabinet. I've read lots about these sinks on here, and I know that some people report cracking and other issues. My main question is should we under mount this sink (that's what I THOUGHT we would do) or is that asking for trouble if it DOES ever crack? I'd be devastated to have to destroy our granite our our cabinet. Does anyone have any experience, tips or suggestions for how we should mount this sink in relation to the granite? Any pictures? I don't want to be terrified to use this sink. Please link me to other threads if this has been answered. I haven't been able to find this exact question. A: A shelf needs to be built if you are doing a farmhouse sink. Like the comment above. **Q: Backsplash tiles for Neolith Statuary?** *(in Kitchens)* I'm using Neolith Statuary (polished) for countertops and am really stumped on finding a backsplash tile that works. I ordered several samples last week that I was excited about, only to find the "white" in them was really off from the white in the Neolith Statuary. I think predominantly white or grey tile would work best, but am stumped. Any recs for a tile that will work? I'm drawn to more modern shapes, like hexagons, herringbone layouts, etc. I love the attached Ann Sacks tile but it's more than I'd like to spend. My fallback at this point is a standard 3x6 white field tile with a darker grout, but I'm still hoping for something more interesting. Thanks! A: Be careful of Neolith on countertops not as wonderful as the sales people say it is. Chips and cracks easily and repairs are difficult if not impossible compared to natural stone and Quartz. **Q: Porcelain countertops** *(in Design Dilemma)* Has anyone ever installed porcelain countertops in their kitchen and if so what do you think? Would you recommend them? A: Not a great product for countertop use. Great for walls and floors. The problem is the thin porcelain slabs are too strong for their own good. For example if you were to drop a heavy object ( Pan, glass vase, etc.) It wouldn't just chip the countertop the thin porcelain shatters like glass. Not reparable because you can not re-polish or buff porcelain like stone or quartz. Porcelain is great on floors because if you break that porcelain tile you can replace that "one" tile. In a counter top its an entire slab. Very costly and not easy to remove and replace like a tile. **Q: Marble shower tile getting darker** *(in Design Dilemma)* Help! I had tile installed I my bathroom. It is a beautiful marble basket weave pattern but it is turning dark. Since I know very little about tile and plumbing I had everything professionally installed. The top picture was taken right after the install, the bottom is after about two months of use. Any suggestions on how to fix it or prevent it from getting worse? A: Marble is a porous material even if sealed properly. My bet is the tile is absorbing the water and turning the white tile darker. **Q: Help! Ugly Unfinished Underside of Cambria Quartz Countertop Solution?** *(in Kitchens)* What can be done about this ugly and unfinished underside of this Cambria Quartz Countertop install? It is easily visible when sitting down, rough, and horribly ugly. Is it possible to have the underside finished like the top side? Very disappointed in this 7K installation. Thanks. A: Unfinished plywood is industry standard for 2cm laminated. The screws are a hazard and not professional. The plywood is acceptable. **Q: Quartz or Dekton/Neolith?** *(in Kitchens)* I know all about the wonders of quartz countertops but I'm interested in learning more about Dekton (I believe Neolith is the same) My big criteria for a countertop are strength, heat resistance and looks.
