He was able to change a very complicated, choppy, space into a unified space with a high end look. His design incorporated clean lines and a very visually appealing modern look with smooth transitions between elements. m. Charles' warm approach, attention to detail and timeliness, made the project very stress free. We love the design and although we are ultimately using it in a bit of an ecclectic way, incorporating some rustic elements into it ourselves, I feel it gave us a new way of seeing and thinking about our space. He is friendly, energetic and professional and was taken by the structure of our home. He has a good deal of experience in modernizing many of the south end/loft spaces in downtown Boston with a good reputation. We did not go with his design or his services as the look was too modern and didn't take into account the occupants and style of the home owners (have kids, dogs, wanted a more rustic flair to fit the exterior etc) so the look really didn't fit well with our family and house (too modern and simplistic). So you may end up paying for a design you aren't thrilled with as that is service he provides so all in all, it was exciting leading up to the design but would really emphasize items you must have in your design upfront and allow him to decide if working with you makes sense. A: Unfortunately we do not know the answer to your question. The Client owned this Dining Room set prior to our redesign. **Q: Back splash** *(in Photo Questions)* Love the back splash. Where is it from? What's the brand / model? A: Brand/Model: Allen + Roth Venatino Mixed Material Mosaic Wall Tile. Vendor: Lowes **Q: window treatment** *(in Photo Questions)* Please tell me more about this window treatment. How does it open? What are the materials? Does it fold upward, pull to the side? Very cool effect. A: These window treatments are actually stationary. We designed and built them to mimic the traditional New England Bay Window that they hang in front of. Materials are simply 1" x 1/2" strips of wood fastened together to form the grid. The wood is spray painted a flat black. On the window side we stretched a fabric backing. It's really just a sheer so it allows the typical amount of light through that you would expect. They do not open, fold, etc. They are simply hung on a curtain rod which is hidden from view by the valance we fabricated as well. We've included another photo of these window treatments from a tighter view.
