> Sarah Burke of Studio Burke did a phenomenal job assisting us in our whole house renovation and addition. She understood our taste and was able to help up choose finishes which complemented the mid-century modern vibe of the existing house. She simplified selections of tile, stone slabs, plumbing fixtures and accessories, hardware and cabinetry. We were out of the country for periods of time during the renovation and she assumed the role of project manager for us, communicating with the contractor and the subs to make sure the placement of electrical elements was correct and that the correct paint colors were applied in the right areas, along with many other details. She had great resources for various aspects of the work. Sarah was a pleasure with whom to work. We truly do not know how we would have completed our project without her.

> I recommend Sarah without reservation particularly if you want a partnership.  I’ve had the opportunity to work with designers and architects on work and home projects for over 25 years.  Sarah Burke brings collaboration to new level.  Unlike several other designers I interviewed for my kitchen, bathroom and bedroom redesign she engaged me as a partner.  I had a well developed design concept, the product of living in my pre-earthquake Potrero Hill cottage for 25 years.  She listened to me.  She listened to the space.  She had the hands to take my vision forward. We had lively conversations exchanging views.  She offered robust ideas, some adopted, some not. We critiqued a succession of drawings until we arrived at the design.  She was patient.  She possesses a sophisticated knowledge of materials – the juxtaposition of materials, texture and color – that brought the best out in the plan.  She accompanied me in the search for stone over many hours and thousands of slabs until we discovered the right granite.  She is sensitive to cost. She knew when to yield to the contractor and cabinet maker and when to take a stand for the integrity of the design.  Productive exchanges were had by the four of us to work through the final cabinetry design.  Sarah’s aesthetic is now woven into my ever more beautiful home.

> Sarah is a wonderful designer and a fantastic person to work with!  We needed help furnishing our new house and Sarah helped us immensely with great ideas & designs that really fit the spaces.  I appreciate that Sarah has great taste, but was conscious of cost and recommended which items were worth splurging on and where we could save money with lower-cost (but still quality) items so that we could stay on a budget.  We wanted to be very involved in the process, and she made that easy.  Sarah really listened to what we wanted and how we wanted to live in the spaces and worked with us with recommendations.  She helped us understand her thinking and her experience with spaces and pulled together ideas for rooms that play well off each other, have the playful elements we were looking for and now that we have been living with them for several months, are incredibly functional. A: We found it at Artistic Tile in San Francisco. Was a few years ago but think they still have it.

A: Hi there, this is actually a wallpaper -- the manufacturer is "Elitis" and the name is "El Dorado".  We could use wallpaper here since there isn't a sink at this bar and thus not a real chance of water damage...
