> We recently completed our second gut-renovation of a New York City apartment with Sarah Jefferys Design. Our first project with Sarah was 15 years ago and we had such a great experience that we didn’t interview anyone else this time. We knew we would work with Sarah again.
>
> We could not be happier with the outcome. Sarah and her team were a pleasure to work with. They bring a keen eye for design, functionality and style and they combine that vision with professionalism, accessibility and attention to detail. They expertly guided the process from concept to completion, and they worked exceedingly well with our contractor. Our project was on time and on budget. We highly recommend Sarah and there is no question that we would turn to her for our future projects.

> We worked with Sarah Jeffreys and Eric Samuels on a complete gut renovation of our brownstone in Brooklyn. Not only were they marvelous in working with our very strong design aesthetic and bringing it to life but they were also fun with which to work! Both have a strong eye for detail and Eric, our main project contact, was heroic in his negotiations between us and the contractor they found for us. I should note that the contractor they brought to the table was also top-notch. The house is full of extraordinary detailing and custom finishes that even other people in the building profession marvel at. Sarah and team were conscientious about sticking to the budget and were knowledgeable about local rules and regulations. These are the details that make the difference between a miserable and a joyful renovation experience. It has been a few years and we still have a sense of wonder at the beautiful space in which we live.

> We renovated our Brooklyn townhouse top-to-bottom using Sarah Jeffrey and had a great experience. They had great ideas and also listened to our requests and implemented those well. We were very happy with the whole process.

> Sarah and her firm, notably Eric Samuels, who collaborated with Sarah on the design and supervised my project, created a beautiful and functional home for my husband and me. They designed and oversaw every aspect of the building of an apartment that combined two adjacent units in "estate condition," as the brokers say. This involved a great deal of back and forth with a picky board and building architect as we changed the original layout of the existing units considerably. They displayed heroic patience and grace throughout the project. I especially appreciated that they were willing to involve me as much as I wished. That was a lot, as I have definite ideas about design and wanted my apartment to reflect my husband's and my taste and sensibilities. It certainly would have been easier for them to forgo my input. I recommend Sarah and her firm without reservation.

> I did a gut renovation of my condo and asked Sarah to do the project. I really gave her limited directions - I wanted my condo to be open, light, very clean lines, and set up so I could easily entertain. Her design was just amazing. I also asked her to help with furnishing the apartment and was really happy with her selections. Three years later I am still thrilled with her work.

> We did a complete renovation of a small one bedroom apartment in Manhattan. We are moving again and completely renovating this next apartment and we are using Sarah Jefferys Design for a second time. That says it all!

**★★★★★ — lhusum, Jan. 2015**

> We used Sarah to do our townhouse renovation. We had such a great experience with her. She was professional, punctual, and full of great ideas. She respected our needs and budget and the results are amazing. We couldn't be happier. We were kind of dreading the process and I'm almost embarrassed to admit how easy it all came together and this was 100% a tribute to Sarah and her team. I would definitely recommend her services and her talent to anyone who asked. We are almost a year in the house and we are still in love with the finished product and how it lends itself to our lives. Sarah has such attention to detail and she truly understands how a family lives and uses a space.

**★★★★★ — Georgia West, Nov. 2013**

> sarah is an amazing designer who has perfect taste and is a real perfectionist. she is able to work with your ideas and make them beautiful. she is great to work with, flexible, efficient and gets the job done on time and on budget. I can't recommend her highly enough.

**★★★★★ — danielbergner, Oct. 2013**

> Sarah Jeffreys took on a row house in shambles and turned it into an imaginative, richly textured home that I still--three years later--take a palpable pleasure in walking into every day.

**★★★★★ — Lauren Liles, Oct. 2013**

> Sarah Jeffery and her team were very professional and very easy to work with. They have great ideas and design solutions. They were very realistic in their approach and were very respectful of our budget. I would like to work for them again to renovate my basement.

**★★★★★ — Gisellah Harvey, Oct. 2013**

> Sarah Jeffreys Design designed an addition to our existing home and a complete remodel. We could not be happier with the outcome. The most impressive aspect was how well Sarah was able to tie into the existing space and create and addition that surpassed the brief that we gave her. We wanted a much larger kitchen, a 3rd bedroom and a new living space. She created a stunning addition which has transformed the house. The new kitchen is fabulous. And the renovated and expanded bathrooms are fantastic. Our home is now incredibly functional for our family and other families who often visit. However Sarah managed to make it functional while giving it great style. Everyone who visits is completely stunned by the transformation.
> The management of the project was challenging due to the location, but Sarah continued to oversee every aspect of the job until the last doorknob was installed. Impressively we were also able to stick to our original budget.

**★★★★★ — 61tompkins, Oct. 2013**

> I engaged Sarah Jefferys Design for the second time in 2012 after a truly inspiring collaborative experience with them in 2002. Both times I have found Ms. Jefferys, the lead architect, to be highly professional while understanding all of my personal needs. She has been there for my family every step of the way through an initial gut renovation of a Brooklyn townhouse to the major repairs it required after devastating smoke and soot damages from my neighbor's fire. SJDNY LISTENS and works to find ways to meet our budget, make any improvements on things, if they need it, and in our case, acted like a "first responder" when our home was ruined. I have stood back and watched Ms. Jefferys be equally comfortable assisting in the search of window treatments or holding her ground with unruly contractors, sub contractors, or insurance adjusters. We are delighted with our home and anyone who comes over remarks on how beautiful yet comfortable it is.
> I also have been with Ms. Jefferys in dealing with the NYC landmarks commission. She is an absolute PRO in this tricky arena!
> I recommend her company to anyone and everyone!

  - Description: Walk up the steps of this Park Slope brownstone and discover a unique blending of original exterior facade and contemporary interior elements. The complete gut renovation of this 3,000 square foot narrow townhouse was built with passive-house technology principles and stylistic inspiration the designer took from the couple’s home countries of Denmark and India. Upon entering through the refurbished doorway, the lively Brooklyn street is immediately silenced by the serene interior environment. Th…
