> Chris Jones and his company HR Construction did a fantastic job on the external remodel of our house in Marietta. It is a rare thing indeed when a contractor meets or exceeds every one of my expectations. I would recommend HR Construction unconditionally to anyone needing remodeling or building services.
>
> Our architect Cooper Pierce recommended two contractors to implement his design. Although HR Construction was not the least expensive of the proposals, it had the most detail and I felt that Chris' enthusiasm and flexibility would be a good fit for my wish to be collaborative during the process. While I’m sure the last thing most contractors want to hear is “I can build that piece”, Chris was open to my contributions as a woodworker.
>
> I also appreciate Chris' attention to detail. The very first thing he tackled, the garage area, was one of the most complex pieces of the project, and I was thrilled to see how particular he and his master carpenter were in its execution. He hewed to the design, yes, but it was clear from the tight fit of the joints and the bracket positioning being just proud of the soffits that he was as picky as I am. Even the more prosaic parts of the job like the new roof and paint were completed to a fine standard. And finally, the complete remodel of the front entryway, inside and out, with the new door, custom windows and mahogany trim is just a beautiful showpiece of craftsmanship.
>
> Chris changed our house from a 70’s styled soft-contemporary ranch to a modern take on the Craftsman style, taking Cooper’s design and turning it into a reality. My wife and I are thrilled with the final outcome. Throughout the process he was professional, enjoyable to work with, and consistently exceeded expectations. I thank Chris for his hard work, dedication and personal attention to detail on our project.

> Chris Jones of HR Construction is one of those rare jewels that you find renovating and building houses. He is intelligent, efficient, and able to manage subcontractors so he delivers excellent work product and reasonable and fair prices. I wouldn't call anyone else. > HR Construction pulled off a major kitchen/family room/deck remodel without a glitch. Contractor Chris Jones was on site every day with his team ready to get things done. The work progressed steadily, with an absolute minimum of disruption and down time. We were able to remain in our house during construction and actually looked forward to interacting with the crew each day.
>
> Our plans involved many architectural details. Chris studied our plans thoroughly at the start, worked with our architect to devise cost-effective solutions, made a very fair bid, and executed everything flawlessly, with no change orders or disputes of any kind. He was a joy to work with, and we remain in contact more than two years later. He and his team take real pride in their work. And they should! Everyone who comes into the space they created is blown away.

> This is the 4th project that Chris Jones has completed for us; we have remodeled our kitchen, family room, 3 bathrooms and painted a child's bedroom through HR Construction.
>
> Chris is professional and personal when dealing with us. He is a good listener and offers insight and suggestions in line with our tastes. He is conscious about our time and money and personally oversees the quality and scope of every project. There is very little for us to do when we hire Chris since his standard and knowledge of quality exceed ours. On top of everything, Chris is always willing to offer help where we need. We highly recommend HR Construction for any type of remodeling needs one may have.

**★★★★★ — Axios Architecture LLC/Steve Robinson, March 2013**

> HR Construction has built a number of projects design by Axios Architecture. Chris Jones is congenial, trustworthy and pays excellent attention to detail. He understands customer service...the homeowners always give him excellent reviews. As an architect, I most appreciate Chris' attention to detail, the design intent of the drawings and a willingness to figure out exactly how it needs to be built. He is very thorough and capable.

**★★★★★ — Thomas Wise, March 2013**

> Chris Jones and HR Construction did a fantastic job working with our architect and completing the renovation of our kitchen, bath, mudroom, living room and deck. He is an honest man of integrity in an industry that could certainly use it. He shows up when he says and is on top of any subs he employs. He is well versed in the latest and greatest materials and industry trends. He also has creative ideas on how to preserve budget guidelines while still accomplishing the goals of the project. He is willing to listen, is generally pleasant when dealing with any issues that come up over the course of a project and stands behind his work. I would not hesitate to hire him again and highly recommend him to others.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Upper cabinets - wood species?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi,
I really like this kitchen, you've created some beautiful contrasts with your cabinet, backsplash and vent cover. Can you please tell me what species of wood you used for the upper cabinets? I initially thought maple, but the grain seems more pronounced...
Thanks!

A: Thanks for the inquiry! All the cabinets (both light and dark) are Cherry. The upper cabinets are clear lacquer and the lower are traditional cherry stain from Gemini.

**Q: Countertops** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is the concrete sealed and if so, what kind of sealer. I love the finish.

A: This concrete is a different product that contains recycled materials. We sealed with a commercial stone sealer available thru the fabricator.

**Q: What type of stone is the fireplace?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is this soapstone?

A: No this stone is a natural stone but I no longer have the information as to type.

**Q: La Casita dimensions?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am looking at adding something similar in my backyard as an entertainment space - what are the dimensions of this building? Also, what would be a ballpark figure for building one of these (incl electricity, insulation, etc.)? On the order of $10k or $50k?

A: The dimensions are approx 12x12 and costs can vary greatly based on a large number of factors. We suggest talking to a local builder to get better ideas of cost.

**Q: Beautiful hutch! What is the wood?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: All of the wood is Cherry. The lighter is clear and the darker is a traditional cherry stain. Thanks!

**Q: Great layout!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi there, do you recall what the dimensions of this bathroom are? I have a long somewhat narrow bathroom and this design might work!
Thank you :)

A: This bathroom is approx. 7x14
