> We renovated our house with a completely new kitchen and when it came to cabinets we debated between Ikea and a local shop. We chose Kitchen Designs Studio over Ikea since they were considered higher quality even though we needed to pay more and also they promised to warranty the cabinets.

> Unfortunately in less than 6 months time there was substantial damage showing in the finish of some of the doors. We have no pets or children and only gave them a wipe with a slightly damp rag 3-4 times a month. It appears there was some error when they finished them as certain corners started to peel almost immediately. In addition to this they forgot to finish the bottom of some of the sides (on the bottom) and and one area has bubbled up after a cup of water spilled even though it was wiped up immediately.

> The owner inspected them in November of 2019 and promised to repair them however it is October 2020 and nothing has been done other than a few damaged doors removed. In the past year with all the phone calls, emails and messages sent no repairs have been done and there is no deadline set to complete the work. So we are sitting here with some doors missing and some still damaged and we are running out of patience and am considering legal action. Do not recommend this shop.

**Q: Bathroom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Vanity purchases 
Top herringbone for in the shower , middle tile for the floor. Four tiles lined up as possibility for the walls half way up only. Not jumping out at me.
Any suggestions

A: Love the scheme you are putting together here! Personally I would stick with standard white glazed one (2nd from the right). My second choice would be the farthest right one. Good Luck with your Reno!

**Q: Kitchen granite** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Doing a small remodel to kitchen. Which granite would you choose? Giallo Creme or Verde Butterfly? The cabinets will be similar to plaque, cream with glaze on sides, travertine floor and travertine backsplash. I know the neutral tones are in but I'm wondering if I should go with the darker granite to give it a little pop.?

A: I think either option would look great, but I'm leaning toward the darker option! I do think the contrast is nice and I prefer it since the pattern isn't as busy as the lighter option. I  think that since the cabinets are glazed kind of giving you that range in tone that going with the less busy option would be best! Good luck!

**Q: How would you freshen up this kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I like my kitchen, but it's ten years old and feels a little dated.  How would you freshen up without a real renovation?

A: A quick swap out for the pulls and knobs would certainly be any easy change for the space. I'm not sure how much work you want to do but switching out the back-splash could potentially really change the space. The pendants over your island are lovely absolutely nothing wrong with them but if you are looking for a change that would also be something easy to switch out and could change the look of the space.

**Q: decision between brushed nickel and dark bronze finish faucets** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am building a new home in the Texas hill country. The look is fairly Tuscan. I am trying to decide between brushed nickel and dark bronze fixtures. I expect to live in this home as my retirement home for the next 20 years or so. I am afraid that the bronze look may be just a trend and will look dated in a few years. Any advice on which way to go?

A: If you feel your look definitely comes off as Tuscan then I would go with the bronze fixture!

**Q: Kitchen before & after!** *(in Before & After)*

We just have to finish up some painting, pick and install a backsplash, install some lighting, finish putting knobs and doors on, some miscellaneous decorating ... & then we are DONE! i'm guessing it'll be ten years before those final items are checked off.
This is a 9 month DIY project, so we are feeling very thankful to have a working kitchen again!

**Q: Are the chairs that bad?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Was looking for a rug to replace the hair hide one. Not many responses. Are the chairs that bad?

A: I love the reupholstered chairs, I think you gave them a second life! As mentioned above there have been lots of great suggestions for some area rugs then add in some jewel tone colors, or pull out from the pattern, then maybe a metallic hear or there and it would look great!
