A: Not sure but, I believe owner bought it at Walter E Smith. If not google dining room sets for the major furniture stores to check selections. **Q: Lights** *(in Photo Questions)* Where are the lights from? A: Lights were purchased at Northwest Electric in Mundelein, IL **Q: Updating Golden Oak Woodwork** *(in Design Dilemma)* If I update my hardware on my golden oak doors, am I wasting my money? Will the home still look dated with the golden oak? A: Most oak cabinets with a light to medium color finish are somewhat out dated! HOWEVER, changing the hardware in size (most importantly) finish or to a transitional style makes a huge difference when selected correctly! Additionally, we've changed some cabinet doors to glass fronts (flanking kitchen sinks or windows) or even painted and replaced counters on island cabinets in a kitchen with a notable difference in esthetic. A: The directive is to visually shorten the hall! We have successfully achieved that by breaking long runs up with low profile structure. The use of +/-3" projected Pilaster columns at an appropriate with works well, (trim top and bottom of pilaster) ideally placing them on top of the stair before the existing hall door. Secondly, I would change the color of the entry way a few shades darker to help rich en the foyer and stained wood entry door, rugs always help that area also. Hope that helps. -Hardin Builders Inc. 847.668.9020. **Q: Engineered hardwood** *(in Design Dilemma)* Is it necessary to glue down engineered hardwood flooring when installing over basement concrete floor? Our concrete floor has radiant heat installed and is heated with a boiler giving the floor a nice toasty feel in the cold winter. Our basement is dry. We do live in the Midwest so we do experience humidity issues however we do run a dehumidifier in the summer months along with air conditioning. I do not like the idea of gluing down the entire floor! We considered the vinyl looking wood floor but I just don't care for the look. A: Nice response by Cancork Floor Inc. Their right, installing underlayment is important to avoid additional acoustic issues, also it just has a more solid feel beyond accommodating moisture control.
