> We give Elizabeth Lawson Design our absolute highest recommendation! Elizabeth and her associate Casey are a dream team! We had a substantial renovation involving six rooms in our home, including a major kitchen redesign. The results are spectacular, and we are overjoyed with the result. Elizabeth Lawson Design is the perfect combination of offering new, fresh ideas that you never would come up with yourself, sourcing items that you couldn't source yourself, and yet also deeply listening to your aesthetic, budget, and delivering something you absolutely love. Every major project or renovation has setbacks, frustrations, and problems with vendors. Elizabeth and Casey were always even-keeled, calm, and masterful at resolving issues as they arose. We imagine working with Elizabeth and Casey for years to come. They are just good people and extraordinarily talented. We are so glad we found them.

> We worked with Elizabeth at ELD over the last 3 years, and had her help us with design decisions with two different homes. I've been consistently very happy with all her design suggestions! She does an excellent job of understanding her clients' aesthetics, and what works best in a space/home. I have referred her to friends and family without hesitation!

**★★★★★ — Picklemaus, Dec. 2025**

> Elizabeth and her team were great to work with. She understood our vision, communicated effectively, and together with our general contractor and architect, helped to deliver functional, beautiful results that exceeded our expectations. Elizabeth has impeccable taste - why we picked her - and she helped us envision the best design using beautiful materials and finishes while being realistic and practical. Our project was a two story extension that included a new kitchen, new dining room, new main bath, walk in closet, remodel of a hall bathroom, plus a refresh of our existing main bedroom and living room.

**★★★★★ — E.M., Dec. 2025**

> Having worked with Elizabeth on previous projects, we were excited to collaborate with her and her team again for our recent bathroom and bedroom renovations. Elizabeth and Casey listened closely to our vision and recommended beautiful pieces and thoughtful design choices that complemented the overall style of our home. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and couldn’t be happier with how the spaces turned out. Elizabeth’s design sense is exceptional, and we would not hesitate to seek her guidance on future projects.

> I was confounded with picking window treatments and colors for my 1930’s home in Chevy Chase . Elizabeth and Casey were great at making the house look homey but updated and fresh. Love the results! They were also good at keeping me updated on progress.
> I would definitely recommend.

**★★★★★ — lindapor7, Dec. 2024**

> The best part of Elizabeth Lawson Design is the quality of their craftsmen. Their contractors always do a first rate job. They are all highly qualified and time sensitive. They are also good listeners. They listen carefully to what you want and give you many choices with pros and cons. And they do not try to make you feel like their way is the only way. I have enjoyed working with them.

**★★★★★ — Ellen Loreck, Dec. 2024**

> Elizabeth Lawson did an excellent job in designing our renovated master bath. Elizabeth and her project manager, Casey, took the time to understand our ideas for the space and then developed a vision board from which to work. They were both highly professional in their interactions. Elizabeth has outstanding taste in design and she was a good match for my transitional design preference. I highly recommend Elizabeth Lawson for your design project.

**★★★★★ — Kitchen and Main Bath, Nov. 2023**

> Elizabeth and her team did an amazing job on our kitchen and bathroom. She had a clear vision from the outset and was able to take our feedback in seamlessly integrate it into the overall design. We found her relatable, patient, flexible and decisive. All the things you want in someone when doing construction on your home. Very thankful and would recommend her again.

> Elizabeth and Casey were great to work with. They have an eye for timeless, elegant, and streamlined design. We love the rooms they helped bring to life in our new home.

**★★★★★ — kochie, Feb. 2023**

> I noticed Elizabeth Lawson's designs on Houzz and pinned several of her projects to my Pinterest board. When it came time to renovate our bathroom and update several of our spaces, I knew exactly who I wanted to use for design services. Elizabeth Lawson Design did not disappoint! Elizabeth has a clean and modern aesthetic that provides a good balance of modern and traditional, textures, and colors. The overall effect creates beautiful rooms that are also comfortable to be in. Most importantly, she knows how to design cohesive spaces that marry well with the architecture of the home. Finally, I really appreciated Elizabeth and Casey's organization and attention to detail. I'm a busy, working mom and they took care of all the ordering, collaborated well with the construction team, and had a transparent and easy to use billing system. On my own, I would not have been able to pull off such a beautiful result so seamlessly. My husband and I have fallen in love with our house all over again.

**★★★★★ — rschulman, Jan. 2023**

> We were able to do a challenging renovation and be really excited about a lovely result that also worked well in an old house. Elizabeth is highly professional and can handle everything from design to handling the challenges of supply chain issues to coordinating with all contractors. We are excited to work with them again soon!

**★★★★★ — Chris, Oct. 2021**

> We recently purchased a home in the area and worked with Elizabeth Lawson Design from day 1 to redesign the interior. I cannot express just how happy we are with the way the design turned out! Elizabeth and her team were very good at listening to our aesthetic preferences and working with us to help us design all the details that we wanted but were not able to fully articulate on our own. We would not hesitate to work with Elizabeth Lawson Design again for any future projects in our home.

**★★★★★ — turriffa, Nov. 2020**

> I thoroughly enjoyed working with Elizabeth and Casey on the design of our new construction home! Elizabeth was able to look at the hundreds of inspiration photos I had saved and really hone in on our style. The result is a beautiful, timeless, cohesive home that we absolutely love, and would have never been able to create on our own. Elizabeth and Casey are very easy to work with, and add a sense of calm to the often overwhelming and stressful process of building a home. They are very responsive and were always able to pull through when our builder presented us with an unexpected, quick turnaround time. I highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — Beth Redlich, Feb. 2020**

> I have loved working with Elizabeth Lawson Design! I saw Elizabeth's project photos on Houzz and just loved her aesthetic. I knew right away that I wanted to work with her. From day one she and her wonderful assistant Casey understood my needs. My husband and I have 3 teenagers and a busy house, and we wanted something beautiful, but also comfortable and functional.
> The whole process was great. Elizabeth and Casey were incredibly organized and responsive - and meeting days were always so fun when they would show up with lots of great options. If I didn’t see anything that felt just right to me, Elizabeth would happily do more research and source more items. I have been beyond thrilled with all of my new spaces. Elizabeth is such a talent with an impeccable eye. Elizabeth and Casey have been delightful to work with. I will continue to use their design services as other projects arise. And I can’t recommend them more highly!

> Elizabeth Lawson Design exceeded my expectations in creating elegant spaces that are timeless yet fresh, with subtle comforting warmth.
>
> Via E-design, Elizabeth and Casey handled flooring selections as well as design of the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms in our new construction home. Designs were tailored to fit our traditional New England setting while being clean and bright, for our family with young children. I’ve never doubted Elizabeth’s impeccable eye for style, but was truly impressed by her knowledge of the minutia of home-building and ability to quickly resolve all my random problems. It made for such an easy experience despite communicating solely by e-mail.
>
> Every decision was expertly thought-out and delivered on or ahead of schedule. The designs feature perfectly harmonious color palettes, enhanced by clean metal, wood, and glass accents that deftly avoid looking overbearing or redundant. I appreciate the focal points grounding each space and the themes carried throughout the house to craft a sense of continuity and balance. Elizabeth suggested a few bold elements that we wavered on but are glad we went with as they look impressive. As installation continues, everything looks amazing; even the contractors are excited at the choices. The design dazzles with the clean stylistic excitement of a resort hotel brushed with a soft, organic feeling that somehow this was always a home that belonged to us.
>
> The friendly staff was a pleasure to work with, due to dependable, quick, and clear correspondence. There was always room to re-work any selection, and billing was a breeze.
>
> Their professional and reliable services saved me hundreds of hours of research, and helped set the tone of an incredible home we cannot wait to live in. I am forever grateful for their services and highly recommend Elizabeth Lawson Design for the design of any residential or commercial property.

**★★★★★ — Erin Obriecht, Oct. 2019**

> Working with Elizabeth and Casey was a real pleasure and I would recommend them a million times over. As we worked on designing my house from top to bottom, they helped with the full gamut of renovations (paint, flooring, lightning, window treatments, kitchen, furniture, accessories). They helped define my vision for the house and executed flawlessly, all the way down to handling the delivery of the furniture. What was really important for me was to work with a team of designers who have strong opinions but who can also listen and act on my feedback and adjust the vision accordingly. They understood what was important to my family, and the house turned out to be gorgeous, functional and liveable. Thanks again Elizabeth and Casey!

> We have worked with Elizabeth and her senior designed Casey for the past couple of months on the interior design of our entire new home and they've been absolutely fantastic! We retained them to provide full design services - furniture, rugs, light fixtures, art, and accessories. From our first meeting, they have impressed us with their professionalism, warmth, attention to detail, responsiveness, and excellent design choices. They've listened to what we liked and disliked and helped us make great design choices that fit our family and style. They are always available to answer questions and provide guidance. They are both extremely talented and passionate about their work and they went above and beyond to ensure that we are content with every design choice. We are so thrilled with Elizabeth and Casey's work and highly recommend them for any design project. Thank you Elizabeth and Casey for everything you have done to make our new house a beautiful home!

**★★★★★ — Adrea Lee, Dec. 2018**

> Hiring Elizabeth was one of the best decisions we made for our recent renovation. She assisted us in the part of our project that included gutting our kitchen, powder room, and master bathroom. I had serendipitously come across her work on Instagram, of all places, but we loved her portfolio so much we reached out to her despite her being based in Baltimore and us living in Boston. She was very open to working remotely, worked well with the local design-build firm we had hired (we didn't feel like we were stuck in the middle), and we couldn't have imagined a better result even though she never stepped foot in our space.
>
> The thing that drew us to Elizabeth first was her aesthetic, which we felt was fresh, unique, and modern while still managing to be timeless. While my husband and I felt like we could easily say whether or not we liked how a room or house had been put together, we were at a complete loss when faced with having to choose different materials, colors, and fixtures to come up with a cohesive look ourselves. While it had been suggested to us, we didn't feel like finding photos of a kitchen or a bathroom we liked and trying to recreate it was going to be particularly easy or successful (given the multitude of variables). We felt strongly that we trusted Elizabeth's design sense and that we should let her lead the way. So while a part of me wanted her to just make us a kitchen that looked just like one of the ones in her portfolio, my husband convinced me to just let her be creative and come up with something completely new. After email and phone exchanges about what we were looking for, Elizabeth made everything so simple by presenting us with a just a few different idea boards and then working with us to tweak things based on what we felt worked, budget, etc. We went through several iterations of these boards, and she was unfazed when at one point I told her I wanted something completely different (she sent over more idea boards). She saved us likely hundreds of hours of time and frustration by showing us what she thought would work for our space, which allowed us to focus, and not get distracted by the rabbit hole that the internet can be. The process was fun, and interesting, and pushed our boundaries just enough. We are thrilled with the results. My husband and I still smile now when we think of a few choices she made that we weren't 100% convinced about but ultimately decided to just trust her; now, these are some of the design elements that we love the most about our new home. Trust Elizabeth's eye!
>
> Besides her creative talents, Elizabeth was very easy to work with. She was easy to get in touch with and responsive, she accommodated us when we had budget concerns, and she was able to make any project deadlines we asked her to meet. She was patient when I needed to be talked down about things. She was available for pretty much anything we needed - from choosing finishes, fixtures, paint colors, to art and furniture (though we did not use her for the latter two).
>
> Now that our major renovations are over, we keep thinking about more things we'd like to improve in our home. Our hope is that in the future, we'll be able to work with Elizabeth again!

**★★★★★ — Rachel Mendelson, Dec. 2018**

> Elizabeth helped us with our full house gut job. We pulled her in sort of last minute (but before work had started) as we were unhappy with the designers we had originally planned to hire and we couldn't have been happier with the decision to switch. She quickly took over the reigns and designed an amazing space that we're so happy with. She was also very responsive to our feedback. We've already brought her back in to turn the guest room into a nursery and wouldn't hesitate to either hire her again ourselves in the future or to recommend her fully to any family or friends.

**★★★★★ — Ann Williams, Nov. 2018**

> Elizabeth and her team are the absolute best! Do yourself a favor and work with them if you get the chance. Elizabeth has incredible taste, yet listened carefully to me and to what I was looking for. My home came together beautifully and exceeded my wildest dreams.
>
> Thanks to Elizabeth for also being extremely patient and flexible. Despite changing my mind on style, budget and specific items many, many times, she always listened and was generous with her time. It was the most fun and rewarding collaboration.
>
> I will definitely work with her again if we move!

**★★★★ — Anne Steenhoek, Nov. 2018**

> Elizabeth Lawson Design was a tremendous help from the very beginning of the project to the end. Elizabeth and her team were professional, hard-working and responsive at communicating regularly. I never felt pressure from Elizabeth to rush decisions and she was patient in explaining why she made particular suggestions. The light fixtures, vanities and tile she selected for the house are practical and classy with a touch of modern. It is a perfect blend and are my favorite parts of the project. Elizabeth took what I think is a very intimidating process of selecting paint colors for an entire house and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend her!

**★★★★★ — mrod426, Dec. 2017**

> We have been working with Elizabeth for many years. She has helped us with everything from floor plans to window treatments and has executed everything beautifully.
> She is professional, extremely talented, and fun to work with. Elizabeth has brought a comfortable, modern, aesthetic to my 100+ year old home while respecting its history. She has sourced gorgeous rugs and textiles that we would never have found on our own. Not only are Elizabeth's designs beautiful, they also function. She has been indispensable in creating comfortable and practical spaces that accommodate our family (including young kids and a dog) without compromising sophistication. I can't say enough about her-she is a true talent!!

**★★★★★ — Rebecca Cohen, Nov. 2017**

> I highly recommend Elizabeth Lawson for interior design projects - she is a true gem. We hired Elizabeth to design our master bedroom and bathroom, and we ended up expanding our work together to include redesigning a laundry room, powder bath, mudroom and some exterior changes. There was significant remodeling involved. She is a consummate professional - with excellent communication and organization skills, and follow-through. Elizabeth is an extremely talented designer, with an eye for beautiful and unique pieces, and that rare ability to tie everything together into a special, fresh and livable design. She integrated my personal aesthetic and goals for the space into the designs seamlessly. Elizabeth crafted gorgeous designs, and I didn't change a thing. The project turned out beautifully, and truly exceeded our expectations! Elizabeth is also a problem solver, and did a great job minimizing the stresses and headaches that inevitably come up with a large redesign project. I have the utmost confidence in her work, and will definitely work with her again on future projects.

**★★★★★ — Jen Smart-Abbey, July 2017**

> I cannot say enough good things about Elizabeth. She is a consummate professional— communicates well, respects your budget and your time. Her taste is impeccable. She turned my dated and drab kitchen into a gorgeous, crisp, and modern living culinary abode. The transformation was truly impressive and will be featured in Home and Garden! I will continue to call upon Elizabeth’s expertise as I continue to remodel my home.

**★★★★★ — Heather Lyons, March 2017**

> We worked with Elizabeth to decorate our living room and entrance and refresh our dining room and breakfast nook. She took the time to get to know what we wanted and worked with us to put together rooms that reflected our style - or really an elevation of that. Elizabeth is a great listener and very approachable! Her feedback is honest but kind and educational (e.g., she would explain why something I picked out myself did or did not work and when something didn't work would make constructive suggestions). She can source fabrics from design houses in New York, antique rugs from Morocco, etc that I would not have been able to find myself. However, she also knows when affordable retail items can be used in a space. Finally, she considers the details while at the same time keeping in mind the big picture to create continuity throughout the rooms.

**★★★★★ — L L, March 2016**

> We truly enjoyed working with Elizabeth on the renovation of our kitchen and living room. Her advice and guidance was essential! At every turn, she was responsive and creative, helping us with everything from hardware, to lighting, to paint color, to furniture, rugs and floor plan design. She was respectful of budget, sourced beautiful materials, communicated seamlessly with our contractor and was a real pleasure to work with. We couldn't be happier with the results.

**★★★★★ — Ali Hoekzema, Dec. 2015**

> Elizabeth was wonderful! She was very easy to work with, great communication, and was very respectful of our budget. We bought a house with a lot of traditional molding and touches and Elizabeth was able to blend that with our modern taste perfectly. We will definitely be using her again in the future!

**★★★★★ — vinelegacy, Oct. 2015**

> Complete redesign of family room. Elizabeth is very professional and helpful. Everything delivered as promised and fit exactly. Fantastic job and would definitely recommend.

**★★★★★ — mewens, July 2015**

> Elizabeth provided design services for our living room, dining room, foyer, den, and master bedroom. She was a delight to work with - she took our 100+ year old house and updated it with a modern, fresh style that is perfect for our family life with young children. She was extremely professional, sensitive to our budget, and effectively took my likes (color, patterns, modern furniture) and created a coherent look for the whole house. I love how she mixes approachable, affordable design with unique fabrics and styles from individual artists and vendors. She was especially helpful in picking out fabrics and patterns and making all the rooms look 'put together' without being over-decorated. I highly recommend her.

**★★★★★ — ellasimone, March 2015**

> Elizabeth is a very thoughtful designer. She takes her time to fully appreciate her clients individual style, and makes very appropriate recommendations based on the individual's personal preferences. She has a great eye, is extremely patient and very responsive. I highly recommend Elizabeth, if you are interested in a re-design with someone who will be very sensitive to your personal tastes.

**★★★★★ — csds986, Nov. 2014**

> Elizabeth Lawson Interiors has brought a fresh perspective to designing our family room and updating our living, dining rooms and our front porch. Elizabeth has an excellent eye, selecting design choices and enabling us to compare options--both design and costwise--for slipcovers, drapes, art work, and additional pieces of furniture. Elizabeth is easy to talk to, and communicating via e-mail and in person has worked very well for us. We have found her a good listener who is very responsive, and we recommend her unreservedly.

**★★★★★ — Purple Bike Design, Oct. 2014**

> HI have worked with Elizabeth in a professional capacity for many years. Elizabeth is professional, friendly, easy to work with, and has a fantastic eye for style and quality.
> I am very happy to see Elizabeth branch out on her own and establish Elizabeth Lawson Design. I also follow her blog, Salt and Soul, and view her style as a benchmark of good taste and design.
> Her ability to layer classic elements with a fresh, boho style creates rooms that are relaxing, fresh, and easy to live in. It takes a lot of skill to make a room look easy, and Elizabeth has the gift of pulling it off with ease.

**★★★★★ — cdcdwc, Aug. 2014**

> Being design challenged can create a certain level of anxiety when choosing to undergo any new project! So many choices from all over the world right at your fingertips! Elizabeth has helped me numerous times. Whether it be sourcing pieces for a rental home to create a livable, functional space for our family of eight, or on a larger scale, taking on a whole house project. She actually allowed me to discover what my style actually was! Having "decorated" my home once before, but not feeling at home in my own home, Elizabeth guided me through the process of of 'un-decorating'! After spending little time together, she was able to present ideas that reflected the vibe that I was looking for. Her keen sense of what makes a person feel good and what they desire functionality wise is remarkable- AND, it was done in a manner that was enjoyable and fun, with no stress!

**★★★★★ — baltimore, April 2014**

> I hired Elizabeth Lawson to freshen up my decor. Having lived in the same house for 15 years, it was looking tired. Elizabeth came through with fabulous and easily achievable ideas for every room. She works within your budget and with your existing furnishings to come up with a plan to make your place look current and inviting. She is easy to talk with, accessible, and encouraging. I am excited about my old house again! Thank you, Elizabeth!

**★★★★★ — Lauren Miller, Jan. 2014**

> I hired Elizabeth Lawson to design my kitchen as well as my son's nursery. She did an amazing job transforming our dated kitchen into my dream kitchen. For the nursery, she took the the theme we wanted - nautical - and created a perfect and unique room for our little one. Her designs are clean and gorgeous and I've already recommended her to friends.

## Community Q&A

**Q: I am perplexed by this photograph. Was this the same home?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Maybe this is the 'before' image but it seems lost in here! Delighted to have found this particular set of images. They have helped cement some ideas I have been working through with my husband and a kitchen designer.

A: Thank you for your comments. This is a completely different project.

**Q: Love this cabinet... can you tell me where it's from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you! This vanity was actually custom made for this project.

**Q: Bewildered** *(in Photo Questions)*

This kitchen is above and beyond!!
Thank you so much for sharing it!!

I've painted samples of
\- Farrow & Ball \#26 ( down pipe)

And no matter how I mind bend I can't imagine that is the color of the lower cabinets ??

So I have also sampled

-Farrow &Ball \#281 (stiffkey blue)
And
\- Farrow & Ball \#30 (Hague Blue)
Which seems like a very close match

Could you please confirm that the lower blue/dark cabinets are also down pipe -/ it just doesn't seem possible that the lighting or the calibration on my screen would change the color that drastically. I would be forever grateful if you would share the color if it isn't down pipe.

I am truly so grateful for your time and help, thank you!

A: It is indeed Downpipe! The photo shows the color pretty accurately.

**Q: Fantastic Contrast!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you provide the color or brand name of the lower cabinets please? Thank you!

A: Farrow & Ball Downpipe

**Q: Is the finish/sheen on the cabinets satin? Or maybe eggshell?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful work! Thank you so much for sharing.

A: It is eggshell.

**Q: Faucets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Who is the maker of the faucet? Thank you!

A: Newport Brass
