> In 2023-2024, we did a major renovation to our 1968 home in northwest Austin and chose MEK. At the end of that 13 month project, we were super pleased with the final outcome. Matt has a lot of familiarity with this neighborhood. His team did a great job and were very attentive to detail across all phases of the project.

During busy phases of the project he met with us weekly or biweekly at the job site and patiently answered all our questions. He was always tracking multiple outstanding tasks and nimbly dealt with issues that arose. And he kept things moving at a steady pace; there was rarely a week where the home was idle.

I wouldn’t be writing this review if Matt hadn’t gone well above and beyond my expectations on all 3. > I don't usually do reviews, but MEK Homes really impressed us! A little background ... Our project was a remodel of a kitchen/living area in our newly purchased home. We did not live in the home while the remodel was going on, and from start (demo) to finish (move in), it took just under 4 months. We gutted this area ... I mean, completely gutted and redesigned the entire area to better fit our family needs. Matt had contacts for architect, designer, flooring, painting, cabinets, electricians, masons, windows, woodwork, home electronics - everything. His architect helped us design the space with the appliances we were purchasing. Help with colors, patterns and design was provided by a designer that we worked with. Estimates were given at the beginning of the project and an ongoing spreadsheet was provided to show us where we were in the process showing any changes we made as well as payments, etc. As with any remodel project, certainly some minor issues can arise - we had very few, but when they did arise, Matt made sure we were made aware and everyone made the necessary steps to fix them. Our project was finished 3 weeks after our deadline, but from what we heard about remodels, we expected to run into needing extra time so we planned for it. Throughout the process, Matt communicated with us on a regular basis and always answered my phone calls and questions. MEK Homes has been in business a long time in Austin and their contacts, knowledge and craftsmanship shows why they remain at the top in this business and why we give them 5 stars. Matt is honest, his team works hard and is very professional.  We have been in our home for a little over a year now, and begun looking at other "projects" to tackle - MEK Homes is always our first call. Though we are not doing anything is as big as the kitchen area remodel, Matt always answers our calls or emails and provides us with contacts that can help.  Overall, we are very happy with the work of Matt and MEK Homes and recommend them without hesitation and in highest regard!

> Matt and MEK homes did a bedroom renovation to add space for our blended family. He very cleverly increased the space in the girls bedroom utililzing space above the stairs and into attic crawl space to add room for another bed, headboard unit and bookshelf. He added drawers and bookshelves using interior wall space and created a closet from an attic access area. The job was done in about a week of daily work and very professional with good cleanup and ability to stay in house. Overall great job!

> I have nothing but great things to say about my experience in dealing with Matt Kruger and MEK.  Roughly 2 years ago, we relocated to Austin from Los Angeles, and purchased a brand new 2,400 sqft condo that had an additional 535 sqft patio.  While we liked the overall feel of the space, we were not so thrilled with the existing floor plan and the builder's finish choices (which were cheap and geared toward the lowest common denominator buyer).  So before moving in, we asked Matt to take down a wall and open up the space, reconfigure the living room and dining room, install new matching hardwood flooring into all the rooms, change out existing bannister and hand rails, construct custom cabinetry for our master, tile the outside patio, and design and build a custom structure for the patio to hide unsightly tankless water heaters as well as hold a 65" tv, and install all wiring for our very high end audio/video systems.  Matt was able to get the bulk of this done within 3 weeks, so that we could move in.

> Matt's approach to us was "whatever you want, you get".  And we did.  The quality of work was great, and trust me I am very picky.  His subs are excellent and do meticulous work.   He gave us estimates on cost, and for the most part they were dead on.
