> Excellent craftsmanship! Remodeled my home with precision. Stayed on budget and met my deadline for completion. Thank you for you excellence to our community.

> We had our house flood with sewage when the lift pump in our septic went out. We started out with Taylor's Restorations. They did the water mitigation, but dropped the ball and dragged their feet on the rebuild. They stopped working and after a week we called to see what the holdup was and we were told they didn't think we were going to do the rebuild on the house. It was crazy because they didn't even finish the demo work on the floor or water mitigation! So we fired them and had Chase Edstrom come finish what Taylors had started. We were pleasantly surprised from the start. On the first day they completed all of the demo work (Taylor's had done about 25% and taken over a week to do). Second day they had taken out all the drywall in the bathroom fixed an exhaust fan issue I have had since the house was built and had all the drywall backup. Worked was top notch and fast!!! They went over what we expected from them and are very very satisfied with the work. The rebuild did go a little bit slower, but that was mainly due to the insurance company figuring everything out since we had to fire Taylors and they wanted verify some estimates. But once we got everything worked out the work was complete in a timely and professional manner. In Fairbanks where quality, timely and professional construction companies can be hard to come by, Chase has risen highly above the norm. I highly recommend Chase Edstrom for any construction project. I will surely be using them for future projects!! I was not paid or given any payment or discount for this review. I normally rely on reviews to find quality companies and know how hard it can be to find a good contractor.

**Comment from Edstrom Construction:**

> Thank you very much for this review Joel! We appreciate any feedback our customers can give. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to tell others about your experience with us! We greatly appreciate it!

> Chase and his crew completed an addition on our home one year ago.
>
> In the beginning, Chase was very responsive, friendly, got things going fairly quickly, wrote a thorough itemized estimate, took the time to explain how the process would work, what materials/design would be best, etc. Once the deal was sealed, however, we didn’t see as much of Chase, and he never came to see the finished project in person. His foreman was awesome and helped make up for the dwindling communication as the job went on. A few mistakes were made along the way (no big deal, it happens) and while some were addressed and fixed (the only right, professional thing to do) a couple others never were. There were promises, but no follow through.
>
> Separate from the unaddressed issues mentioned above, this first winter our addition experienced, we dishearteningly realized that water was dripping from directly behind our sheet-rock (on the warm side of the vapor barrier), causing mold and water damage. We weren’t looking at all to point fingers as we understood there could be a myriad of possible causes, with ice damming at the top of the list. Our roof was properly installed for Alaskan/arctic conditions and ice dams were not present when this behind-the-sheetrock dripping occurred. We were puzzled and heartbroken to say the least.
>
> Of course then we reached out to Chase to come help us figure it out before more damage was done. After all, they were the ones who designed and constructed it and could hopefully provide some valuable insight and offer possible solutions. (And even further, use it as a learning experience in case another client experienced and share the knowledge!) After promising to come 3 separate times over a course of several months, Chase never showed up. After the third time being stood up in which I missed work and rearranged our children's schedules, I simply asked for some kind of response/reason for not showing and when we could reschedule – no response at all. Highly disappointing and unprofessional.
>
> I completely understand how new money and gigs are more attractive to a business’ bottom line; however, an exceptional business owner would deliver a consistent level of customer service and follow-through at all stages of the client life cycle, not just while sealing the deal. With a couple issues still not resolved, substandard suggestions about design (which we’re learning from other contractors) and a lack of professionalism in following up, we’re not the most impressed of past clients. Follow through and customer service go a long way.

**Comment from Edstrom Construction:**

> Alexis I am sorry that I wasn't able to make it up to you project when we originally talked. Unfortunately we have to respond to emergency insurance jobs within two hours and that day was just extremely hectic. Currently we have 14 Jobs going on and its a very stressful time trying to get people back into their house. I do however remember talking to you about what could be the cause and trying to walk you through it. I believe whats happening is whoever you guys had to the shingling either didn't install proper flashing or ice and water shield and whats happening is that when it gets warm out and starts to melt the water is getting in that way since you told me it only happens when its warm. I had full intentions of coming up there to take a look at what was going on I just could at that very min. I do remember responding to you immediately when you brought the issue to my knowledge.

> Our second floor room over a two car garage had an unsupported beam that was starting to bow in the middle. Chase made several visits to consult at our house where we verified the beam appeared to be improperly braced and sagging approximately 1 1/2 inches. He came up with several ideas, then brought out a structural engineer to verify the solution was appropriate. After pricing several options, we arrived at a solution that fit my needs and budget. Within 3-4 days, his crew removed and replaced ceramic floor tiles, jacked the beam, and installed an additional support column. The column was wired per my request and painted and textured to match the room.
>
> Two years has passed and the work has held nicely. The only difficulty with the entire project was the electrician showing up a day late, which really was not a problem. I am pleased with the attention he gave to investigating and solving our problem as well as the quality and timeliness of his work. I would recommend him house remodel / renovation projects.

> Chase has worked on our house. We are remodeling one room at a time. He has been happy to work with our schedule and finances to make this huge undertaking happen. Our home is older and has never been updated. We want it done right. We are completely tearing out whole areas, changing walls, etc. Chase has been up to the task. The guys that come to the house are friendly and professional. The work has been excellent in quality and his prices are fair. We have multiple other projects we are planning and Edstrom Construction will be handling them.

> We hired Edstrom construction do do various jobs around are house and we were thrilled with how everything turned out! Not only were they polite, but they cleaned up after themselves. They finished the jobs within the quoted time, also.

**★★★★★ — salexander20, Nov. 2015**

> Edstrom Construction, in a word...professional. Finished the job on time and on budget. Works with you, tells what can happen instead of what can't happen. If there is a less expensive solution they will tell you upfront.

> edstrom construction built our house in 2012. my husband and i highly recommend this company to our family, friends and anybody we know who has construction needs. whoever comes into our house never fail to appreciate it. the most common reaction from men is "wow, i like your floor" and "oh wow, i love your kitchen" for women. we are very proud of our house. thank you to chase edstrom for doing a great job!
