In addition, Martha is truly a born project manager and Craig a master craftsman. We had purchased a 1700 square foot cedar home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The place had been built in 1978 and hadn’t been updated since. To say it was dated would be a vast understatement We planned on a complete renovation which involved gutting the kitchen and the bathrooms, drywalling over the worn cedar walls while refurbishing the cedar ceilings and heavy ceiling beams, redoing the floors, tearing down walls, cutting out windows and doors, removing a large rambling spiral staircase which divided the great room as well as removing an old wooden stove sitting atop a brick pedestal painted fire engine red, redoing all the ceiling and wall lighting, refurbishing the outside cedar and replacing the 30 + year roof. It was a large undertaking requiring a cash outlay of about $300,000.00. To complicate things the renovation was done during the Covid lockdown with all the ensuing supply chain issues which made Martha’s job of scheduling contractors, installation, and finding suppliers an absolute nightmare. Dealing with all the bottlenecks and frustrations would have been more than a full-time job for me so having someone as skilled and knowledgeable as Martha handle it was a godsend. She was on top of every detail from the most minute (the pipping on the custom pillows for the setae) to the large (the redoing of the exterior walls, deck, and roof). What I appreciated most about Martha though was her vision in seeing exactly how each piece in her design would work in the context of the whole. I have to say that I was skeptical of some of her choices on first viewing but when I saw them in the context of the entire creation, I could see that they were exactly the right choices. It was as if magically the whole thing came together in perfect harmony. A few of the things we needed could not be purchased and were custom made by Craig. He made two perfectly fitted side tables with hammered bronze legs and beautifully marbled granite tops, a perfectly shaped oval coffee table with the same legs as the side tables and a thick glass top as well. In addition he engineered two custom swing out mirrors for the bathroom sinks which are held flush with the wall when closed so as to allow for a large unobstructed window over the sinks which looks out on to the garden while providing a mirror over the sinks when needed for grooming. Throughout the process both Martha and Craig were extremely responsive – keeping us updated on the progress of each piece of the project. They would always pick up immediately when called or return the call within an hour or two if unavailable. In addition, they are truly lovely people and were an absolute delight to deal with . A: Hi Candy, This is both a sunken "Roman" tub and a shower combined. Hence the back rest and the bath tub faucet. If you look at the additional pictures of this bathroom it shows a few more pictures that illustrate the concept better.
