Who We Are
My name is Joshua Carajanes and I am the owner of Great Harbors Home Services. In 2020, after my Nana passed away I had the fortunate opportunity of purchasing her home. I grew up in her home and had many fond memories there but the home needed a makeover.

I am sure many of you will be familiar with this experience. Estimates for the work that differed by tens of thousand of dollars, unreliable contractors that wouldn't return my calls, and feeling like I could never afford to pay for what I wanted based on the massive prices I was getting.

After months of frustration I took matters into my own hands and with the help of my friend Paul Donahue, the lead carpenter at Great Harbors Home Services, I began to learn the best way there is, by doing. We renovated my entire house interior and exterior and along the way discovered we both had the same passion for quality and making sure every task was completed with an absolute attention to detail. We also found that when a rare mistake was made we both without a doubt wanted to go back and make sure that the mistake was corrected no matter how difficult it was to fix.

From that renovation my passion for carpentry and building emerged. After years of doing construction work while maintaining a full time position with the Department of Correction I decided to start Great Harbors Home Services in 2023. The name pays homage to the neighborhood where my first renovation took place and where my desire to provide people with a better contractor experience began.

We look forward to serving the many wonderful communities of Cape Cod by always communicating with our customers and by putting as much care into your renovation as I did my own.

> We love our new kitchen!  Being first time home owners and having no experience ever having a home renovation originally made the idea of re-doing our kitchen kind of scary and a bit out of reach.  Working with Josh and team at Great Harbors Home Services was the best decision we could have made!  Josh worked with us every step of the way, making design suggestions and answering any questions we had in a timely manner.  We did the kitchen in two phase, having the cabinets painted and crown molding added first and then we decided to pull the trigger on the countertops, sink, and back splash the week before Easter and Josh made sure that everything was done much faster than we expected, having a completed kitchen in time to host! Once the countertops came off it was evident that the walls/backsplash area was going to need some unplanned work.  We had originally thought to just do a quick coat of paint, but the wall condition was worse than expected and Josh was able to order and have subway tile backsplash installed within days.  To say we are very happy with the quality of work and the finished product would be an understatement.

> Great Harbors Home Services has done a lot of interior and exterior work for me on my Cape Cod home.  They show up, finish the job, and are reasonably priced.  Their work is nothing less than perfect and professional.  They communicate very well with the customer and keep them informed.  Great Harbors refurbished old, rotting, carpenter ant eaten clapboards on the front of my house and shed to beautiful composite board that will last forever.  They transformed my office space inside my home to a beautiful workspace (covering a horrible dark purple on the walls)--installed laminate floor and built a closet and painted/finished the entire space.  A small project they did was adding a beadboard accent to the peninsula in my kitchen. They will be renovating two more bedrooms for me with laminate floor.  I still use them for whatever home projects I have because they are experts--I will not be calling any other contractor.  See attached photos for their work.  Call Josh 774-238-2219. We were able to agree on a design that included putting the decking on a 45 degree angle to increase visual interest. We added a double picture frame on the border as well.
