It was wonderful working with you as well. **★ — Tina Yuan, June 2018** > We originally hired Danielle from AccenTrix in June 2018 to design and oversee the renovation of our new Vancouver home, but the project quickly fell apart the lack of price transparency. After AccenTrix came to see our home, we asked them for a renovation quote estimate prior to beginning this project with the understanding that we may not use their renovation services. the price seemed reasonable so we signed the contract. We were astonished to see that the actual quote we received were looking to be $40,000 more than the estimate (30% over!!). I would understand if this was 5-10% over the estimate but such a discrepancy made me feel like a victim of an unethical "bait and switch" business tactic. We did not have an extra 40k in our budget and had to find a different contractor for the renovation, delaying our timeline by 3 weeks. When we reduced the scope of work due to the high price they charged Danielle promptly terminated her service and pulled all of the previously provided specifications offline unless we signed a termination letter that put all blame on us. > > The general sense from this firm was that they could care less what we did with our house as long as we used their services. I felt like the value we received from them was not worth the retainer we paid.
