### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Ivy Cox, Dec. 2025**

> We selected and hired Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC) to assist us in a Master En-suite renovation/remodeling of Bath, Walk-in Closet and Laundry. As the design progressed, we quickly saw the value of what PDC was bringing to the table with just not their design ability but technical knowledge as well, so we added to the scope a second bath, insulation, and attic air sealing.
>
> PDC listened carefully to our concerns with old space in its extreme inefficiency, dated look, and lack of natural light. We appreciate the collaboration in PDC's development of proposed solutions. Their simple 3D animations of a series of schemes and material samples brought to our home made the process clear and effortless.
>
> PDC took our old floor plan which was 60% wasted space and gave us a plan that packed 110% program and still gave us a feeling of spaciousness. PDC was also mindful of our budget and assisted in helping with saving costs with their trusted venders. When the selected tile was discontinued, PDC negotiated with the vender to provide the newly selected more expensive tile at the same price as the original selection.
>
> We enjoyed working with all the contractors, selected with PDC's assistance. A great plan requires teamwork for a great implementation! We also enjoyed working with their custom millworker who crafted PDC’s vision flawlessly. As a result, we decided to ask them to design and build the Walk-in Closet to match the bath’s walnut cabinetry.
>
> The Master Bath turned out so beautifully as a place of relaxation that the entire family uses it now. We feel like we have a 5-star spa resort hotel bath right in our own home! Thank you, PDC, for such an amazingly delightful transformation!

**Comment from Princeton Design Collaborative:**

> Ivy , Many thanks for your kind review. I have to say there are clients and there are Patrons, you are most defiantly in the later category ! It was a true pleasure collaborating with you on your project and that collaboration made for spectacular deign and execution .

**★★★★★ — Tyler Jonin, Oct. 2025**

> We at Creative Concepts of NJ(custom cabinetry) have had the pleasure of collaborating with Princeton Design Collaborative on a number of projects over the past few years, and we’re currently in talks to be part of some of their exciting upcoming work as well.
>
> Having spent many years in the cabinetry and millwork industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of talented architects and design professionals. I can say with the confidence of experience that PDC truly stands out. John Conroy is an artist through and through.
>
> When you work with John and the PDC team, you know exactly what you’re getting. There are no unanswered questions, no guesswork, and no “designing on the fly.” Their work is thorough, concise, and intentional in every choice; from overall concept to final detail.
>
> John's expertise and passion are clear in regards to his deep technical knowledge and the quality of his prepared documentation. He maintains ongoing education across a broad range of design, construction, and building science topics. His expectations challenge those around him to raise their own standards, which is a testament to his commitment to excellence.
>
> If your project demands excellence; look no further than Princeton Design Collaborative.

**★★★★★ — Sunil Thomas, Oct. 2025**

> I had an excellent experience working with Princeton Design Collaborative on our modular kitchen project. From the initial design discussions to final installation, the team demonstrated outstanding professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail. They delivered a design that perfectly balanced aesthetics and functionality, tailoring every element to our needs.
>
> What truly stood out was their commitment to timelines — the project was completed right on schedule, even exceeding our expectations in terms of quality and finish. The coordination between design and execution was seamless, and the final result has completely transformed our kitchen space.
>
> Highly recommend Princeton Design Collaborative to anyone looking for a reliable and innovative partner for home design projects!

**Comment from Princeton Design Collaborative:**

> Sunil, We really enjoyed working with you on the project and where happy to help out . Looking forward to working with you again !

**★★★★★ — Tommaso, Aug. 2025**

> We are a family of five and had grown out of space in our home. We like the location as it backs up onto preserved land and the school system is one of the best in the state. So, we decided to renovate instead of moving. We gravitated to Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC), as we liked the design of their previous work, to assist us with the renovation.
>
> We found along the way that their technical knowledge is excellent. PDC was responsive to our requests and did a series of 3D preliminary designs with some very basic budget estimates for our review. With their guidance, we were able to meet our family’s needs without having to expand the envelope of our home. This helped manage cost while making the project ecofriendly. PDC was responsible for the architecture, interior design for finishes, and landscape architecture, which made our life easier.
>
> PDC also worked closely with our selected contractor to ensure their documents were being followed. It was clear, during execution, that the documents developed by PDC were extremely detailed, significantly helping our contractor throughout the entire process. We did not have any surprises that affected the initial construction budget. PDC and our contractor regularly met on site and they both communicated well together, ensuring smooth execution.
>
> For all these reasons, and the quality of the end product, we are very happy with the renovation. We highly recommend Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC) for any of your design needs.

**Comment from Princeton Design Collaborative:**

> Tommaso, Thank you for your kinds words and we enjoyed working with you and your family on this project. It was a challenge for all of us in the beginning as our involvement started during the height of COVID. But with your dedication to making your home a better place for your family, we were all happy to see a very successful result . Looking forward to our next project with you !

**★★★★★ — Joan Grozalis, Dec. 2024**

> PDC has produced great work over the years. It's a tribute to the firm that Houzz has continued to share their work on the design platform. The recently renovated kitchen is beautiful, a piece of master craftsmanship and so well organized with thoughtful planning. Beautiful job!

**★★★★★ — Denise Dryburgh, Dec. 2024**

> Working with the PDC team is always a pleasure- they are always Helpful and responsive as well as very attentive to our needs. PDC always has a few solutions for the areas we are working on and presents them clearly and with professionalism

**★★★★★ — Adem, Sept. 2024**

> We had the pleasure of working with Princeton Design Collaborative on a project of ours. We especially appreciated their technical knowledge which guided us through the ability to receive city approvals in record time for our project. PDC guided us through the process, so we had full understanding of what was needed and constructed a set of documents that more than met our expectations in a timely manner. Without hesitation we recommend PDC for your next architectural project "

**★★★★★ — Mustafa Ugur, Aug. 2024**

> We contacted PDC to assist us with a plan which required an architect to complete. After explaining what we all needed, PDC prepared a clear and thoughtful plan which was outlined in their proposal to us. PDC are good communicators, and expeditious with the small project that we had. There were no hidden costs within their fee. The result was successful, and we plan to use PDC for other projects in the future.

**★★★★★ — Freedom Millwork, Dec. 2023**

> We have had the privilege of working with PDC on a number of different residential projects in the Princeton are. we find the team at PDC to be knowledgeable about the residential building market. We have worked with the team on various product lines. We find PDC to be a very collaborative company to work with. They do a great job of setting expectations with both the homeowner as well as suppliers like ourselves. we have worked closely with them on all aspects of performance, pricing and value-engineering. they have a hands on approach, which makes it easier for all of us to recognize potential trouble areas and get any issues resolved quickly. We look forward to continued collaboration with John and the team. we highly recommend the Princeton Design Collaborative for your next project.

**★★★★★ — Mark Erickson, Nov. 2023**

> This past season we completed one of the largest residential landscape projects we have done to date which was designed by Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC). PDC created a timeless “outside the box” design solution to solve a code requirement in an imaginative way that accentuated the properties attributes. This project involved a lengthy approval process by multiple government authorities, which PDC handled with their design team and assisted us with the last leg for building permits with the town.
> PDC brought several sustainable measures to the project in the form of plant material, site building products, efficient lighting and a multi tank rain collection system that we collaborated on in the planning stage, then executed. All these design measures by PDC will make for a lasting and unique outdoor retreat sure to bring the client years of enjoyment while having little to no impact on the environment which it resides in.
> We look forward to Collaborating on future projects with PDC and highly recommend them you your upcoming Landscape Architecture project to create your own private Oasis.

**Comment from Princeton Design Collaborative:**

> We enjoyed working with Custom Landscape and look forward to Collaborating on future projects together .

**★★★★★ — Ilyse Cugini/Allure Window Treatments, Nov. 2023**

> I have had the personal pleasure of working with PDC on several of their projects. As window treatment specialists , our products are one of the last installed on projects , so I get to see the finished designs that PDC has put together and meet their clients who love showing off their new spaces to me. They have the ability to create clean , warm, modern designs that showcase their clients' needs and aesthetics. PDC’s staff is design- driven and focused on what will make their project shine for their clients and are a pleasure to work with as they have a focused direction on the products they need, which makes our job all that much more efficient. We would recommend PDC for all your design needs , commercial or residential and look forward to continuing our collaboration with them.

**Comment from Princeton Design Collaborative:**

> ilyse,
> Thanks for the great review. Allure has always come thru for us and our clients when it comes to window treatment that fits right in with the aesthetic we have create for each of our clients .

**★★★★★ — Ryan, July 2023**

> Having known all the partners of PDC for nearly two decades, some of them served as my mentors during our time together at a prominent firm. Their guidance played a significant role in shaping me into the Interior Designer I am today at my current firm. Demonstrating an exceptional talent for design and possessing a strong foundation in building science, they have consistently upheld a commitment to outstanding customer service, ensuring the success of every project.
>
> Their current work reflects a sleek and contemporary approach, drawing inspiration from their extensive experience in the commercial and hospitality sectors, seamlessly adapting it to the residential market. When design, craftsmanship, and service are crucial factors, I wholeheartedly endorse considering them for your next project. Their expertise and dedication will undoubtedly make a significant difference in delivering the results you desire.

The plan was totally reconfigured; laundry is placed so all can access it from outside the Master. The plan was organized with a generous walk-in closet that ha…

 - Description: The clients were seeking a clean, modern aesthetic with simple lines paired with durable finishes. PDC preserved the brick in most places while carving out portions to allow for a fluid pattern of ribbon windows and cementitious fiberboard for a dynamic sculptural appearance. This interpolation has been updated with sophisticated finishes of blueprint matched plain sliced maple with an accent wall in birds eye maple, perforated corrugated metal panel ceiling and natural slate floor. Special attention was spent on lighting, both natural and artificial. Natural light has been introduced via new stain glass windows over the entertainment millwork and skylights at th…

 - Description: Lower Level Bath This project was a renovation of an existing bath located in the basement of a 1950's ranch home. The ceiling height in the basement was low at best and to exacerbate this challenging situation was an existing half bath with its water closet on a two steps up "throne" on axis with the door into the space. As in many homes of this era, the sewer line sat above the basement floor slab which is why the water closet had its own prominent thrown. Solution and added benefits: The solu…

 - Description: When first approached by the owners of this project they had requested a simple addition to the rear of their home to expand the kitchen. Their main objective was to include an abundance of storage, better work flow, simple familiar finishes in a seamless design that integrates well within this neighborhood of 1,100 square foot ranches built in the early 50’s. ## Community Q&A

**Q: One of the best basements I've ever seen!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Bravo for an incredible, creative, functional, beautful design! Especially love the walk-out water feature. That's all...Love love love!

A: I am so glad you like our design, We are known for transforming basements into lower-level living . Great way to add space without adding on !

**Q: Great functionality in a small space. Is there a dishwasher?** *(in Photo Questions)*

My guess is that it would be located to the left of the sinks, close to storage cabinets and drawers. However, the base cabinet fronts all look similar. Thanks.

A: Yes, there is a dishwasher, by Cove which is the brand under Sub Zero / Wolf (comes with a full six-year warranty if installed by certified installer). We wanted to create a seamless look at the cabinets along the sink wall so the panel on the Dishwasher resemble the rest of the drawer configurations. The Dishwasher is located on the right side of the sink. Many thanks for your question!

**Q: what size are the recessed lights? looks great!** *(in Photo Questions)*

what size are the recessed lights? looks great!

A: Thank you for your question and interest in PDC's design work. The recessed lights are an exterior diameter of 3 1/4" and the interior lens is 1 3/4".

**Q: exterior ugly house help!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi! I am a first time home owner. We found a great deal on a little bit of an ugly duckling. It is very beautiful on the inside but the outside needs some help. I have no good ideas on what we could do to jazz it up. I’m thinking maybe a big covered porch the whole front of the house with stairs down the middle leading to the front door. All suggestions welcome

A: How exciting to be a new home owner! Here is a story you may find of interest on a project we did to help a client improve the exterior of his house .

**Q: I love the cork floor!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me who the manufacturer is or where to purchase it?

A: Thank you for your interest in our designs. We have been using this cork flooring for over a decade ! It is carbon neutral , from Portugal and was always priced under $2.00 a S.F.. This was offered through LL Flooring. The VERY sad news is that earlier this year it was discontinued.

**Q: Do have dimensions for room with the TV?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We have similar sized space in our basement as the room with the TV and want to see if we could do similar with built cabinets.

A: Thank you for the interest on one of our projects here at PDC. The room in question is 33' long x 17 wide. I hope this helps. Lets us know if you need any design and technical support.
