That’s why we are so grateful to have found Gerry and his amazing team in the great unknown of home contractor land. We initially hired Plumb Square Builders to help us convert our dilapidated detached garage into a bedroom with a full bathroom. However, we were so impressed with their high-quality hard work and pleasant and respectful manner that we pursued 2 more projects with them. Our home presented surprise challenges that are often discovered when renovating an old home. But, throughout all the projects, Gerry, Kevin, Patrick, and their subcontractors accommodated these challenges with customized solutions. They also graciously accommodated any other change or customized request that we had along the way. Gerry was always incredibly patient and easy-going throughout. He dedicated a lot of time, energy and attention to carefully listen to our thoughts and questions, and formulate great recommendations and solutions. He also made sure that we were completely satisfied with all the work on the projects. Gerry’s lead foreman Kevin was also equally patient and thoughtful and is an incredibly talented, hard-working, detail-oriented craftsman. He is very creative and has a great eye for design and aesthetics considerations. He always makes sure that his work and the work of the other subcontractors meets high standards, not only for functionality, but also for design and aesthetics. Gerry and his team also addressed and remediated inadequate or improper work from previous contractors. Patrick did excellent tile work. All the skills he gained from his past apprenticeship with an Italian tile master, as well as from his years of experience, really shines through in all of his tile work for our projects. The painters, especially the lead painters Omar and Bonifacio did an impressive job. The lead electricians Don and William did a great job overall with a complex electrical plan. The masons did a superb job of blending existing and new structural elements together. Essentially, all the subcontractors were very responsible, hard-working and seemed to take pride in their work. They did an amazing job overall and were definitely a Godsend. We loved our experience with Plumb Square Builders. They helped update our charming old home into the turnkey, even more charming home that we’ve always dreamed of. We highly recommend Gerry, Kevin, Patrick and the rest of their spectacular team of subcontractors for any house renovation project. This past year (May 2018), we had a major basement leak of ground water that easily led to over 500 gallons in our main Social Hall every day. Gerry arranged for a ground water evaluation, drew up a detailed work plan that accommodated the church's occupants, and provided a best guess estimate for a major construction of a sump pit and drainage system. Because we're a church, financing was tricky, so the best guess estimate was very helpful as we obtained loans and other financing. The overall cost will be around $320,000, and Gerry's original estimate was within 5% of the final cost. His subcontractors were respectful and a pleasure to have in our church. The project is now complete and Gerry hit his timelines as well as his cost estimates. Also, since this was such a large and disruptive project, communication was critical so we could plan, schedule, and carry on the work at the church. Gerry was accessible and very responsive.
