Project: remodel and add bathroom, screen porch, and office. Very exciting at first. The timeline was a priority. However, the planning took over 14 months from the start of planning to permit submission, with the interiors not finalized yet. Communications and visits were scheduled weeks apart. We were not notified for weeks when the first architect assigned to the project left the firm. A second architect took over, never visited in person (till today), and we were charged for her to get familiarized with the drawings done till that point, charges ($1,500) were then removed per our request. Despite the construction starting time being set up 4 months in advance, the drawings were not provided in time for the permit submission resulting in another delay. They were also incorrect and had a tool shack placed outside our property, that needed to be corrected. Inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and mistakes, doors appeared where they were not or should not be, same for windows, elevations did not correspond to the drawings, wrong shower (regular versus steam), wrong ceiling shape, etc. It seemed that nobody was taking notes during conversations; one drawing of a bathroom still does not match a different view of the same room within the same documentation. Drawings lacked measurements, and those were not provided until the very end despite multiple email requests over the months. Note that they charge for “communication with client”. When we raised concerns to Mr. Linton about the ability, accuracy, and attention to details of the architect following our project, and requested another architect to be assigned to the project (note: we are doing some structural changes), he walked away in the middle of the project without fulfilling the agreements after we paid near to $50,000, and sent us the final invoice with a still inaccurately drawn plan. Note: Their invoices are not itemized and do not list how the hourly charges are generated. When we requested the correct final plan, we had no answers. When we requested the itemized invoices for the entire project to understand the hourly charges for the work done and communications, and whether we were charged for communications regarding errors and corrections of their mistakes, we were threatened to have to respond to a collection agency for the last minor invoice. There are a lot of other architects in the area who may treat your house remodeling as a priority and focus of the project. **★★★★★ — Wood Done Right, March 2018** > As a cabinet maker who cares about good design, it's always a pleasure to work with an architect who is thoughtful of the details of layout and proportion, materials selection and the experience their clients will enjoy from using a space that works well and is beautiful. Linton Architects is one of my favorite architectural firms to work with. Coby and Reid have done and excellent job for us. They listened to what we wanted, made great suggestions, and applied their expertise and experience to solve any challenges which came up! They followed the project all through the construction and were always very responsive. I live in a historic district and the presentations they gave to the board were masterful...well thought out to address what the board might question. As a result it was smooth sailing all the way.
