## About

### Houzz Badges

- 250 Ideabook Saves

Lutron motorized shades, custom home theaters & smart home systems — designing and installing in the greater Seattle area since 1998.

We specialize in Lutron shading — Palladiom, Sivoia, and battery-powered retrofit solutions for existing homes — along with Ketra and Lutron lighting control, whole-home audio, and complete automation. The person who designs your system is the same person who installs it, programs it, and picks up the phone when you call five years later.

Our systems are engineered to disappear into your home — flush-mounted keypads, invisible speakers, clean concealed wiring — so what you experience is the result, not the technology.

We work directly with homeowners as well as builders, architects, and interior designers, joining projects at any stage — though we do our best work when brought in early, during design. From a single room of shades to a whole-home system in new construction, every project gets the same attention to craft.

Motorized shading starts around $5,000 for a single room; whole-home shading typically runs $15,000–$60,000. Battery-powered retrofit shades install with no construction — an easy starting point for existing homes. Dedicated theaters range $25,000–$150,000; media rooms for less. We provide a detailed proposal after an initial consultation, and we're happy to phase larger projects over time, starting with the rooms that matter most.

> Glen at Home Theatre Northwest is fantastic. He has designed and built out several home theater systems for me over the past ten years. Always up to speed on the latest and greatest technologies. Keeps things easy to understand. The ultimate professional by being detailed, on time, on budget, and always available when you need help. I always involve him early on in the process of project so that we are sure to incorporate his ideas during rough-in stage. I highly recommend Home Theatre NW.

**★★★★★ — The Alhadeff Group, Dec. 2014**

> I am a general contractor who has worked with Home Theatre Northwest multiple times. The owner Glen is VERY knowledgeable with regards to the latest and greatest audio and visual technologies. Another thing I love about Home Theatre Northwest is that there is no job too big and really almost no job to small for them. I think Glen realizes that although $50,000 media rooms are fun and challenging, unfortunately we all can't afford them. I would personally recommend Home Theatre Northwest for any of your low-voltage/audio/visual needs.

## Community Q&A

**Q: fireplace** *(in Photo Questions)*

this is the exact style of gas fireplace insert I'm looking for. Can you tell me who makes it?

A: Hi, I supplied the TV and installation and don't have information about the other products in this space.

**Q: Where does the wiring for the tv go?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Haha, wow! Thanks for letting me know!!

**Q: In Ceiling Speakers** *(in Photo Questions)*

Do the customers like the home theater sound and appearance? I am planning on doing a similar setup but I am worried that the ceiling mounted speakers will make the sound "higher" than the height of the TV. I like the look but I'm wondering if the owners feel that they sacrificed on sound quality for looks. Thanks!

A: I've done many surround systems with inceiling speakers. As long as the audio is calibrated to the room (most new surround receivers have audio calibration), and the proper speakers are used, there shouldn't be a noticable degradation in sound quality. Many speaker companies like Triad speakers and Niles Audio have speakers that sit flush to the ceiling but are angled inside the speaker cavity towards the listening area. If the budget permits, have this type of speaker installed. It makes a big difference having the front speakers facing you versus pointing straight down. Have fun!
