It is now the centerpiece of our home, with an island where our family naturally gathers. It was a great place to be on lockdown during the pandemic! We interviewed several remodeling contractors, but found that only North Haven had a "think outside the box" vision that greatly improved the layout of our kitchen. We love it. Ron had the vision for drastic changes to the layout within the space that we had, so that the space is much more functional and flowing now. Veronica and I collaborated really well to make the kitchen's style match my family's personality and our home. She painstakingly ordered many samples to locate the perfect slate backsplash tile, also suggesting local tile artist Debbie Dickinson who made the backsplash a beautiful artistic focal point. Veronica thought about many details I would not have even known to consider, so that our kitchen is user friendly right down to the USB charging ports in one of the cabinets. Roy was the skilled carpenter/"Jack of all trades" on the job. His perfectionistic tendencies resulted in quality work (even my husband who is quite skilled in carpentry thought so). Roy was also just a good guy to have around in the 2 months it took to complete the job. They also replaced the trim around the windows and baseboard in the family room, entry and powder room. Upon moving here in December of 2016 from Minnesota without knowing a soul, we had nobody to give us personal referrals. After doing some online homework we went for an initial meeting and interview with Ron and Veronica. That really was the only thing we could rely on to make a gut decision! It was the integrity we felt from them and the way Ron conducts his business that sealed the deal. Integrity is gold to us. Music to our ears was the fact that DreamMaker does a job start-to-finish!!! They don't do your job in piecemeal fashion like other contractors may---show up 3 days in a row and then be gone a week, etc. No, they are at your home from day one until the job is done. The second high note was that DreamMakers has their own contractors, so Ron knows exactly who is at your site as do you as the homeowner. This is great all the way around. The third high note was huge for us and particularly for me because I came from a background of high detail orientation. They create a page-by-page, note-by-note, detail-by-detail notebook of each aspect of the remodel from outlet choice and color to its height and placement, to paint colors and tile colors and complete schematics and all renders and so on. Each project detail is also completely listed in paragraph form describing what is to be done. This "project bible" as we called it, is left onsite for the contractors to refer to so there are no questions about what is to be done. So for all the aforementioned reasons, and the friendly and approachable manner of Ron and Veronica, who we would be working with as the designer, we decided to sign with DreamMaker. Veronica was EXCELLENT and brilliant to work with as a designer along the way. She nailed it so many times for us in making choices of products and finishes. In a process that can be overwhelming at times, she brought it together so nicely for us and had so many suggestions! Along the way DreamMaker gets together with you to make sure all is going well and in our case, we had to have design meetings on materials, etc. with Veronica who was such a huge positive and guiding force! Once the project started we were nothing but extremely pleased with the work crews. They showed up on time, were very polite, cleaned up after themselves, were friendly, did the job very well, and the finishing work was done expertly on the cabinets! Ron came over several times to check-in as did Veronica. The end result is beautiful and the compliments from family, friends and neighbors keep rolling in. I let Amanda know that you had inquired about this finish. If you have any other questions just let us know. Veronica **Q: Sink?** *(in Photo Questions)* Could you share the brand/model and size of this sink? What sz cabinetry is required? Can it be installed so edge of countertop is slightly over sink edge... I.e. Recessed a little bit further? A: This semi-recessed sink basin is by Duravit in the D Code Series 033955. The 21 5/8" x 17 3/8" sink can be installed in a drop-in application as we did in this remodel, or it can be under-mounted. This sink is available in several different sizes and will also determine the size of the sink base cabinet. When designing this custom vanity cabinet we over sized the cabinet slightly so that the scale of the sink was proportionate to that of the vanity. The cabinet was built as a one piece unit but we allotted 30" for the width of the cabinet under the sink, and that is also including the 1/2 split columns on each side of the doors. By using this sink we were able to gain more of an open feel for this once tight bathroom. The sink is available in a 3 hole faucet configuration as well as for a single handle faucet configuration. **Q: cabinets/island granite** *(in Photo Questions)* Beautiful kitchen! Can you tell me the brand of cabinets used and the name of granite on the island? Thank you! A: The cabinets are by Nickels Cabinets and they are based up in Canada, and the granite is American Rainbow. **Q: Pendant lights** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you share details on these pendant lights: manufacturer and style name? Thank you! A: These pendant lights are from the Pratt Street Metal Collection from Sea Gull Lighting. **Q: What is the flooring in this washroom?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: This floor is Adura Oasis Spring Water in a 12" x 24" by Mannington.Adura is a luxury vinyl tile which is a great alternative to natural stone or ceramic tile. It is incredibly durable and looks like real tile but these vinyl tiles are warmer to the touch then that of real tile. This is a glued down floor that can either be installed with the vinyl tiles have a grout line which makes this product look even more like tile, or you can choose to install it with no grout line and butt the vinyl tiles tight to one another. It is available in multiple size which can allow you to create several different patterns such as a herringbone, pin wheel, basket weave the options are endless. Our installers also love installing this floor for it is much quicker then installing tile. The vinyl tiles can be scored and then snapped apart right where you are installing it verses having to walk outside to use a tile saw and then walk back to where the flooring is being installed. This floor is also available in a wood plank form as well. **Q: What is the backsplash in this kitchen?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: The main portion of the backsplash is Crema Marfil Marble in several sizes. Starting at the countertop we used a 12" x 6" and then to add some depth a small bullnose pencil liner molding in the same marble was used. Above the bullnose pencil liner molding we continued with the Crema Marfil but in an 8" x 8" and put it on point to create some interest within the backsplash since we were using the same material. Above the gas cooktop is Manisalco Copper Mosaic in a random pattern of 2" x 2" and 1" x 1", which is then framed out with a Crema Marfil Marble chair rail molding. To bring a little bit of the copper out throughout the backsplash we used some of the 2" x 2" from the Manisalco Copper Mosaic tiles and dropped them in on some of the points of the diagonal 8" x 8" Crema Marfil. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
