I learn so much when I work on a project with him! Steve goes above and beyond providing a huge range of high quality and beautiful tiles. He worked on a residential project with me in Long Island where he followed thru on every delivery and several times personally drove to the site (2 hours + from New York City) to ensure the quality of products or to provide additional samples. He also is very adept at trouble shooting issues that come up during an installation; for example another client was renovating a powder room himself and while installing the tiles realized he was running out. Steve was able to find additional stock right away. The kitchen counter is made of wood. A: Definitely keep the blue cabinets. They're fun, quirky and whimsical. You can change the hardware, the counter top (check out Ice Stone), appliances and the splash to embrace the blue. **Q: Contemporary Kitchen Makeover** *(in Before & After)* This kitchen renovation was a great challenge and a fun project. Inspired by the natural, earthy elements of the space we’ve created a new updated look to this kitchen and tied the entire space together. The homeowner desired a clean and fresh look that would coordinate the style of the rest of the living space. The adjacent room had natural elements (large stone fireplace, dark ceiling wooden beams and woven shades) which we wanted to echo in the kitchen. Both rooms share the same stylish mossy wall color. The cabinets were modified and custom painted in a Pearly White color then pencil glazed for a clean contrast with vintage charm. The island was expanded and painted in a warm gray color. All countertops were replaced with Cream Pearl granite that subtly tied the cabinets and the island together. New black matt finish hardware was installed to complete the look of the cabinets. Three rustic pendent lights were added over the island to create a vintage feel and spill generous ambient light over the island. To bring in the elements of nature to this kitchen, we placed wicker type island stools and a botanical print fabric on the window coverings. We found a gentle print that wouldn’t overwhelm the space. This 100% linen print by Cowtan and Tout was a subtle elegance of nature. We decided on roman shades with an inside mount in a non-typical way so the defect of the window was disguised. The jute trim was added to the shades for extra detail and interest. This kitchen update added a great functional and esthetic value to the homeowners. A: Great Job.
